The Midiland MX-2 includes the following:

1) Two silver satellite speakers (8.5 x 1.5 inches), mounted on black bases, which in turn can be mounted on the wall
2) One black subwoofer (9 x 9 x 9 inch)
3) One wired remote control module with power/volume, bass, and treble knobs
4) One dual RCA to 3.5mm connenction cable
5) One dual RCA to dual RCA connection cable

The frequency response is listed in the manual as 30 - 150 Hz for the subwoofer and 150 - 20,000 Hz for the satellites.

As for my impressions of these speakers, I don't know a lot of the technical jargon, but I can say that I don't use my home audio system as much as I did before I bought these speakers. My only complaint is that they're a little fuzzy if the treble is too high relative to the bass. Overall, they sound great though.

The two speakers on this system are very clear. The sub provides decent thump but nothing impressive. I use this system to play music on my computer and like it a lot.

All of you might be thinking,"why get these when I can get the logitechs for half the price?". I'll tell you why. Sure, the logitechs sound good, but not nearly as clear as these! The logitechs get very distorted at high levels, because of the type of speakers they use. The monsoons might not have as much bass, but will be more than enough for the computer. They are also very attractive in design. The only down is the price. If you want a decent sounding system on a budget, get the logitechs. But if you desire a little more clarity and very nicely-blended music, and are willing to pay the extra bucks, then this is the perfect system for you.

You can see it on the photo, but I want to reiterate that the pods use staggered cable ends. These are designed for situations where the cable turns as it leaves the connection.

That is a nice feature when that happens (typically, where your cables turn either up or down at the connection, and the connections are in a vertical row).

However, there are some situations where this is a problem. For example, the 3 connectors are not in a row. Or you are making the turn in such a way that the colors do not match.

This design would be improved by interchangeable colors where the shortest radius turn matches your component scheme. One other improvement (in case you're reading, Monster) would be to imprint the cable number on the pod to make it easier to reorder. (Fortunately, Amazon lets you easily view all of your past product orders.)

Other than that, typically good Monster Cable fit and finish.

There are two reasons to buy this cable - high quality and convenience. Monster cables are extraordinary. I'm usually incapable of telling the difference between minor variations in sound and video quality, but after replacing cheap component cables with this, the picture seemed so much better.

This design for the cable (where all conductors pass through the same sheath, instead of glued-together parallel wires) makes cable organization very easy. When you've got a home-theater system, there are so many players that need their own cables; the compactness of the cable helps keep the clutter down.

This unit is much better than your average RCA-to-Mini interconnect. If you're serious about hearing the best your soundcard can provide, or if you're a musician using a soundcard with 1/8th inch jacks, I highly recommend this item.

I bought this cable to connect my portable CD player to my new receiver, since I wasn't up for shelling out the cash for a second CD player. The cable works fine with my Kenwood portable -- it plugs into the player's larger headphone/speaker port. The RCA connectors fit snugly to the receiver inputs, and the sound I get is clean and precise. The cable should also connect to any sound card's output, though you might want more length depending on your setup. Since I just set my CD player on top of the receiver, 1m is plenty.

This cable will work great for Digital Cable Users. And Also using this on a DVD TURNS IT INTO SUPER QUALITY SUPERIOR! But its a little overpriced for itself but works clean and eficiantly. I give this 4 stars for tiny bit overpriced. These cables make the DVD Gladiator EXTREMELY BETTER!

This cable gave me huge improvement in picture quality, espcially from DVD. The connectors are of a good quality and I think that this cable is worth every cent

It is tool-less connector and heavy which means quality. But quality products are not cheap. I spend [money] just for a pair of speakers. Now I want to bi-wire and need to spend another [money].

These work exactly as decribed. Just twist the stripped ends of your speaker wire, push through the connector, screw down the banana portion of the connector, et viola! nice gold plated banana connectors! no strain relief so tugging on the end result is not recommended but these are MUCH better than leaving the twisted bare copper ends to oxidize on your speaker posts.

I don't pretend to be a major audiophile. When purchasing a receiver, I wanted surround sound and excellent quality music and video playback. This piece is the cornerstone of my stereo set, which includes a TV, CD player, DVD, VCR, and a surround-sound setup. In making the decision to purchase this item, I listened to a couple of my favorite CDs on it (in a stereo store connected to speakers similar to mine), and the sound was clearly superior to other receivers in its price range, and most priced up to $300 more. The remote control and face of the set are easy to decipher, unlike many other systems that try to overwhelm you with useless buttons. My one complaint is that it is difficult to perform some functions (switching inputs, etc) because the face is very dark. They could improve this minor flaw with lighted buttons. I expect this to be part of my stereo system for many, many years.

I bought this receiver after listening a Technics DD receiver. The sound response is better, THD lower. Its sound is soft and clear. The DSP is sharp in every mode.

First of all, I like it, but don't pay too much for the DS494. (...).

- A bit difficult to figure out, had to refer to manual for a while to make sure I had it right to enjoy DTS...or Pro Logic II. But I enjoy that aspect.

-The remote is pretty bad, surprisingly bad.. Very small buttons, almost impossible to see in *any* light, let alone low light situations. I feel like an old lady, squinting at the little words on what the little buttons do. And you can NOT adjust BASS and TREBLE with the remote...must be done via knobs on unit itself...

Recently tested it with Jurrasic Park III in DTS and once I tinkered a bit to balance it all, I was very very pleased. Giddy is more like it...:)

This unit lacks a lot of those silly soundfields, which are fun for a minute, but I find a waste of time.....unless maybe you use only 2 crappy speakers and want it to have a synthetic echoey weird effect.
It has Orchestra, Unplugged, and maybe one other, all of which I don't find too appealing...and serve zero purpose for 5.1 surround sound movie experience....so if you want a system for theater like sound for movies, don't let the lack of these phoney 'sound fields' bother you.

Great sound + little gimmics +poor remote=good value for the tight budget yet high standards taste!

Solid, simple, sounds good. We live in a fringe area for FM reception -- heard stations perfectly this morning that hadn't heard in years.

The Amplifier was necessary to drive my passive subwoofer. Buy an active woofer if you don't own an amp.

The NetTune system works great. You need a Windows PC on your network to use this feature. Sound quality is great.

Video quality through witched components also very good.

- an excellent receiver. Quality construction, excellent sound. The Net-Tune features work well with a minimum of setup fuss. The unit is probably a little pricier per feature than some other units, but the trade-off in sound quality and ease-of-use is worth it.
