If you have Acid Music 3.0
Do not bother with this program the same program different name.I would highly suggest this if you do not have Acid Music 3.0.One of the most stable music programs around.Alot better then any Magix program I have used. The publishing to the net is unbeatable and a great file rendering program too boot.

    Good Stuff
It's great software at a great price. I bought the program so I could rip and burn CD's but soon found that using the ACid program (2 software apps come in the box- Acid and Siren...I think these are the Sonic Foundry engines)I could also add a soundtrack to my home movies. The box also came with audio clips that I used to sequence a Blues song and that was fun too.

    Fantastic New Sony Product
Creating music has never been easier. The interface is very clean and easy to follow. This is a great product if you want to make music. The editing tools are great. This program even comes with some cool loops to get one started. Check this product out!

    BUY THIS RECEIVER!
You can pay a lot more for other brands and end up with a piece of junk. I paid about 3 times as much for first (big name) receiver and it blew out after about a year. This thing was a third of the price and puts most other low-end units to shame. It has some awesome features and sounds great. Sherwood somehow manages to make top-of-the-line stuff for ridiculously low prices. I will definitely replace the rest of my components with Sherwoods next time they go.

    Exceptional Value
This unit has the best feature/price ratio I have found! DD&DTS, 3 Digital imputs for this price! And it sounds good. Best entry-level receiver I have found. Very easy to set-up,good remote, easy to make running adjustments. Worth a look.

    Well worth the money
I wasn't in the position to spend a lot on a home theater receiver right now, but had read a lot of good print on Sherwood. I've been impressed with the level of features and performance of the 7103, especially for the money. It is easy to set up, easy to use, and does a nice job for our modest home theater.

    Sony Digital Voice Recorder (ICDMS1VTP)
Excellent recorder with every desirable feature and ease of use. Included software is outstanding!!!

    Best recorder
I have 2 recorders ICD-MS1. Sound quality is very good for such device. Microphone quality is much better than PC's or headset's mics. VOR works instantly. Control buttons are easy to use. Though I extended recording button with epoxy (it was too tiny and I use it a lot). Battery life is short and I bought 3 sets of rechargable batteries (no problem then). Software is very easy to use (drag and drop) and install. Big plus that it can convert files to .wav format and back. PC memory stick adaptor is not included. When you will buy adaptor, make sure it works with your PC and OS at Sony's website.
I had to send to repair one of recorders 3 times (!). Memory stick lost contact every minute. On 3rd time they replaced it with new one. I bought extra memory stick 64MB, but it takes more time to save or erase message and I use 16MB now. 16MB can fit 63 minutes with best quality.

Now, this is the one you want!
If you're serious enough about digital voice recorders to spend $250 or more, this is the one you should spend it on. I think Olympus beats Sony hands down in the ANALOG (microcassette) recorder department, but when it comes to digital, the exact opposite is true. I bought the MS1 (the one that is sold without the voice recognition software, for $50 less) after returning an Olympus DS2000, which cost the same. The DS was noisy, and the speaker was weak. The MS1 is strong and very clear in its output and has a surprisingly powerful speaker. In short it makes the DS2000 seem like a $30 cassette recorder, no kidding.
The MS1 also feels sturdy and well made, has a backlit display and easy to understand controls (at least to me, but then I'm a gadget nut).
There are two things, however, that can be considered shortcomings. One is that there is no way to directly connect this unit to a PC. That's understandable though, because with the memory stick, I'm sure Sony would rather sell me a reader to interface with a PC. Still, I wish they had made that capability. Two, this unit eats batteries like they're bonbons! This is probably due to the powerful speaker and the backlit display, but still, I'd highly recommend rechargeable batteries.
Overall, I don't think you can spend a better $250 on a digital recorder.

    An Absolute Steal
Your old CDs and those HDCDs never sounded so good. Throw in the new DVD-A format ... and you have a winner.

    Buy This Player !

    The best out there!!!
This is absolutely the best player out there. It plays everything that I've got- DVD, VCD, and CD. It have a very crisp look and feel to it.

    Recommendation: Strong Buy

    Best DVD-A Player Yet
I love this machine. It looks great. The slide down display that conceals the tray. The simple facia and clean lines make it stand out in my rack. But most importantly, the quality. The picture is brilliant. Rich deep colors and no obvious digital artifacts as seen in earlier players. Sound quality is second to none. I now us the Toshiba as my CD player. It's that good!!! The sound from both DVD-A & CD's is excellent. You would have to spend a lot more money than what is being asked here to improve on this unit. My only complaint is with the remote control. It could have been laid out better and include built in backlighting. But my universal remote solved that problem. I would recommend the Toshiba to anyone looking for a 1st rate DVD player & the capability to play all current CD formats including MP3's with the same, if not better, quality of other flagship models.

      lite-on dvd/cdrw combo
Item exactly as described. Was shipped immediately and arrived within a few days of ordering.

      Almost perfect.
I have owned this sound card and included software for 6 months now. After all is said an done I am very happy with this sound card. Pitfalls: 1. After installing hardware and software my computer hung at the windows 98 Splash screen. After 3 hours of tweaking I finally logged onto Turtle Beach's website with a friends computer where I quickly identified the problem. Norton antivirus conflicted with new drivers. (Note:If possible, review TBeach's troubleshooting page.It is difficult to address problems after installation if you have no computer to access the internet) 2. To date, I have been unable to make my second headphone jack work. ( No sound ) I have checked Turtle Beach's website to no avail. However, I have yet to contact Turtle Beach's tech support directly. 3. Take note, you will need two available expansion slots in the rear of your computer. Moreoever, they will have to be adjacent to each other. However, one of the expansion cards does not connect to your motherboard. The 2nd expansion card simply connects to your primary expansion card via a included cable and then slips into the expansion slot. 4. If you have two CD devices such as a CD-ROM/CD-WRITER or DVD player you will have to buy an extra Audio Line Cable to connect the 2nd CD device to the Hardwares dedicated Auxilary sound card connection. ( I used a 15 inch Audio cable with a MPC-2 Connector(keyed) on both ends. 5. Software not effective in reducing pops, hiss etc. from analog recordings like that from a vinyl record. Acalades: 1. Hardware was very easy and straightforward to install. ( A getting started guide was included with package ) 2. Software package installed quickly. ( Once again the getting started guide was very helpfull in the manner that it contained screen shots of every window you should see during installation) 3. Wow. When you first see the Digital Orchestra Pro GUI you wonder if you have to have a college degree to navigate. Fortunatelly the Software comes with a VIDEO TUTORIAL that explains most items to you in a suffiient manner. The package comes ith an extensive help manual in Adobe PDF format. Don't worry the CD includes the an ADOBE installation file to install the PDF reader onto your computer. 4. Great sound, I have 80 watt speakers(MS Sound System 80 connected to my computer and the sound improvement alone was very noticeable. 5. I can connect my DAT recorder and MINIDISC recorder to my computer now via pure digital connections. DAT via S/PDIF cable MINI DISC via Fiber Optic Cable. 6. I can play a MIDI,WAV,MP3 etc. track and simultaneously record the track as a new WAV file. 7. Great editing features for all digital sound files and MIDI sound files. Near perfect editing with regards to the ease of editing a sound file. 8. Finally,an easy way to convert a MIDI file format to a WAV file format with out dealing with cables and connections. Simply play the MIDI file and simultaneusly record it as a WAV file on your computer desktop. 9. After completing a project and recording to a CD via my CD Writer, the end results sounded perfect and professional.

Who should PURCHASE this product?? Anyone who is a music enthusiast, musician or singer and wants to create a professional CD with their own vocals or instrumental solo accompanied with other instruments and background vocals. Note: Software does not include a complete library of background voice tracks or instrumental tracks. You will have to create all music or purchase an optional CD that contains music library's.

Who should NOT PURCHASE this product?? Anyone who wants to create a fancy DJ type mixe by simply draging and dropping sound samples. *Although, If you are a DJ and want more flexibility with regards to your mixes then this product is definetly worth your attention because you can mix up to 1000 sound tracks.

      this is sooo cool!
My cousin has this, and i have been using it for the past year. It's really fun and cool to work with if u know how to use it. I am thinking about buying one soon, so maybe i can buy it this year. I really recommend it!

      Yamaha does it again
My second Yamaha receiver. Tried Panasonic , Pioneer and came running back. Its the crystal clear sound that makes Yamaha the king !

      Great Receiver
This is great receiver for those who are just getting into home theater systems. Good power to 6 channels. Lots of DSP presets. Easy settings at least for me that is. Lots of inputs and outputs. It comes with an easy to use universal remote too.

      great A/V RECIEVER
my second yamaha A/V reciever my first was A 2nd from top rxv-2090 it came out on the fringe of home theatre it had a excelent amp but a little out of date as far as home theatre
decoding beeing its based on 5 channels not 5.1
knowing i needed a updated after hearing my girl friends get this! 300$ home theatre in a box i realized while my 2090 sounded better the timming was better on her cheep system . Still I am surprised at how much better the HTR-5590 sounded my first dolbly digital movie blew my mind don't forget i had a 1500$ 1995 model yamaha witch was very good too ,i would give it a 4.5 but no option for it here

      Great buy and picture
I bought the HDV420 to go with a new 30", 16x9,HDTV , Toshiba 30HF83. I bought the inexpensive Zenith antenna, the Silver Sensor. The system work VERY GOOD. From my house, the indoor antenna/receiver combo gives me Washington and BAltimore station: ABC, CBS, NBC, PBS, WB.

      Back to the unit:
      1) Previous reviewer correction - the output resolution cannot be controlled by the remote, but directly on the front panel. This is a small (-).
      2) Signal strength meter very nice and handy when directing the small indoor antenna.
      3) Nice squelch action. DTV signal is either ON or OFF.
      4) Remote cannot control my Samsung DVD, but can do the Toshiba TV. Likewise, my Toshiba TV remote cannot control the Zenith STB, but can control the DVD!
      5) 10dB attenuator. You use this in series with the antenna (F) input when scanning for channels. I tried the scan with and without the attenuator. With the attenuator, I got 11 channels, 10 without.

I bought my unit "new" on EBAY. However, the supplied A/V cables and component cables were cheap. I bought new ones (not Monster) for the unit.

You can operate this unit without a remote. What you lose is password access to program V-chip menues. Everything else can be done via the front panel. I don't know if a cheap universal remote can change these channels on the HDV420 unit. After set up, all you need the remote for are channels, and maybe aspect changes. To change the output format, you are on your feet and pushing buttons, and can do the aspect there too.

Let me tell you, DTV 480p is like good cable that kicks 480i OTA (booty). DTV 720p and 1081i is HDTV kicking 480p butt. Get an HDTV monitor, and a HDTV receiver. For me, it is now ALL FREE!

      Great Unit
I purchased this unit used just in time for the Superbowl and was blown away. The unit picked up 6 of 10 local channels witha cheapie indoor antenna. I upgraded to the Zenith/Gemini Silver Sensor antenna and got 9 of 10 channels, all with good signal quality. Reception with these is highly dependent on location so your antenna requirements may vary. The HDV420 is easy to setup and easy to use. Unlike many other units, you can change the resolution from the remote. Also, the unit has both optical and coaxial digital out which allows for flexibility. The only down side, no DVI out. Most probably won't care but if you absolutely must have DVI, look elsewhere.

      VERY nice unit
I just upgraded to this HDTV receiver from a Samsung. Before Samsung I used an RCA receiver. I was going to get another Samsung but I figured for [$] more this one was worth it. This receiver blows both of my old ones away. It was child's play to set up. It scanned for all of the channels and got every channel automatically. The menu is very well laid out. The exterior looks very modern and high tech with the reflective panel and the brushed metal. It also has coaxial and optical digital output so that I can now watch TV in Dolby Digital (when the program is in DD). It has component out for HDTV. It also has 15-pin computer VGA out. I hooked it up to my regular 15-inch computer monitor and the picture was too small. However, it looked even better than my TV! The remote is very simple. I like it that way but that's a matter of choice. The best feature is that you can change the display format just by the push of the button. Next I am going to buy a wireless transmitter to send the HDTV channels to the rest of my TV's in the house through the analog out. I highly recommend this. ...
