This CD Player was the very first CD Player I've ever purchased from Panasonic. Still, out of all the CD Players I've seen over the years, I have had absolutely no problems with this one, none. The skip protection works like a dream, and hasn't malfunctioned even once. Still, many people prefer the newer ones with MP3, and radio tuners, with claims of Anti-Skip protection that really aren't there, that seem to be automatic, but they aren't. This was released back in 2000, and still works the way any CD Player should, a dream. I just wish that these big name companies can continue to make good CD Players like they used to.

At first glance, i was a bit skeptical of all the hype surrounding this DJ's wet dream; but after a hands on encounter, my doubts quickly faded. To the touch, you can't tell the difference between it and real vinyl. I'm talkin about no holds barred scratchin' and track manipulation. You can even freewheel. And when I say you can scratch, I mean you can SCRATCH! On top of having all the versitility of the analogue 1200s, it adds some tremendous features such as on board effects, reverse switch, sample banks, live cueing, SD card and MP3 compatability, and a hell of alot more that I probably haven't discovered yet. Although I consider myself somewhat of a vinyl purist, this bad boy will allow me to drop some choice cuts from the hundreds of CD's that I have accumulated over the years into my sets; and I'll be able to do it with style. That is, once I get enough loot to buy one....

I have this one since 1999 or 2000, and I decided to bought it because many people told me that Philips is one of the best brands on CD Players and Personal CD Players, so I bought it and now I love it!.
The AntiSkip system is very good!, this function has NEVER failed me (Not like Sony). The sound is great; has a lot of options and the appearance is VERY COOL!...

A good CD Player, but the very high cost justified the good quality of the product, in this case.

I don't recomend you to buy a Sony Discman, because are very unstables and worsts. I bought a Sony Discman D-151 in 1995, and at the second week that I had, I returned to the shop, and they gave me one new. The first months functioned OK, but at the year started to fail the Semi-AntiSkip System, so the CD jumped even with the air... and is not joke. Now, that Personal CD are dead. The laser won't function never more.
A friend bought a Sony Discman VERY EXPENSIVE 3 months ago, and the G-Protection failed at the month...

You'll see, I recomend you to buy this Cool, Pretty and Beautiful Philips, and you will never have problems ;)

I highly recomend Panasonic and RCA Personals CD too.

This is a very good boombox, nicely packaged, easy controls, and a natural display of its parts. The sound is better than expected for a boombox of this price, would have expected it to cost [more] at the local stores. The colors go so very nicely with my bedroom furniture, that it seems to have been made just for it. The CD player is very easy to use and its sound is just like being at the Music Concert Hall downtown. This lets me record directly into the cassette player and give them to my friends at school, who really like the quality of the recordings so far. Overall it is a great boombox with a digital tuner that makes listening to my favorite radio channels a breeze. Thanks Phillips for such a well designed item.

I have been looking for a boombox for a long time, and finally I found the one, which is really best for my needs. It also has a remote control I was looking for. I can listen to music no matter where I am with my remote control! The price? I think it is absolutely reasonable to buy, and I really recommend other to consider to buy this wonderful boombox!

I did some shopping at an electronics store and saw this model. I didn't want to spend more than $.... I checked to see if Amazon had it. The sound and base boost is far superior to makes that cost much more. Also very sleek looking. I was impressed with how fast I received it (only 4 days}.

This boombox is not only a good design but it sounds pretty good too! I wanted something small to take to the beach and this really fit my needs. I didn't expect it to sound as good as it does. Philips is really starting to make some quality products!

i think that this cd cassete recorder has changed my life. It gives me pleasure everyday with the sweet music it provides. I declare this the best thing in my life in terms of musical performance. Thank you Philips for making such a grand product.

I needed a medium sized boombox. It had to have a cd player and a cassette player. It needed to deliver pretty good sound, although a portable boombox is never going to sound like a livingroom system. It needed to be tough. For the money, for the size, you could not get a better buy. I love the funky looks too. Perfect for what I was looking for.

I record a lot of CDs onto tape so I can play them in my car and in my walkman. This is pretty durable and I like the high speed dubbing feature. The CD synchro recording makes it easy to start recording from CDs too. I think this is a great buy on a dual deck cassette/CD boombox.
