Wish it has a Greater Capacity1. The belt is wide, so it is comfortable. I hardly feel it around my waist.
2. Well made. I expect this to last me for quite a while.
3. A little too small. Once my CD player is in the case, I cannot fit in much else. I figure that I probably will be able to fit in several CDs without cases behind the player, but that is it. It would be nice if I can fit in my billfold or something.
4. 2 side pockets that can be used to hold spare batteries but not anything bigger than those.
Overall, I am happy with my purchase, but then I got it on sale.
Perfect in every way I care about!1. It only holds 3 CD's, comforably without cases (there are pockets).
2. Hard to mess with CD-player on the move (it gives you a weird angle).
3. A bit tight for some CD-players.
Pros:
1. It fits tightly around the waist, this thing stays put.
2. Very comfortable, it's can be eaisily forgotten about.
3. Lots of extra battery space.
4. Very slim yet it has just enough padding to keep player/CDs safe.
Bottom line: the cons are just picky things on are really great CD-case. I don't see myself getting another one for many years.

Very good productWhat this player does do is DISPLAY ID3 TAGS and play very loudly out of the headphone jack (gets slightly distorted @ loudest possible setting). The headphones that came with it were no good at all, as are all "free" headphones. This is possibly the easiest to navigate player I've used; all the critical buttons are there and spaced and sized so as to feel different from one another in the dark.
The player features some worthless equalization modes and programming options, but goes through batteries as fast as the average mp3 Cd player. The top cover is actually made out of aluminum, which is a blessing and a curse since it will not snap like plastic, but can bend with abuse. The male portion of the hinge locking mechanism is entirely metal, and so likely much more robust than most tend to be.
The only problem I have ever had with this player is that it apparently does not have a resume feature.
While I have come to despise JVC home theater equipment (particularly their recievers), this product is one of the best of its type.
Really good, really simple, really sturdyThe display is large and clear, and even I, with my bad eyesight, can see everything without problems.
Even though there appears to be no resume function, the forward and reverse buttons work so rapidly that it's easy to get back where you left off.
The only equalization available is "Hyper bass", but this one doesn't seem to need any; the sound is loud and clear through a set of high-quality headphones.
Mention of the aluminum lid doesn't do this thing enough justice; I've looked at and tried a *lot* of these MP3 CD players, and this one feels sturdier than all the others. The IRiver SlimX 350 may be just as sturdy, but the JVC has a really hefty, army-tank feel to it.
I was looking for something to replace my dying TDK Mojo 620. These MP3 CD players all have different features and different trade-offs, but if I had to start over again, I'd pick the JVC XLPM20 as the overall best replacement for the MOJO.

Surprisingly unreliable
Quality and convenience
Solid value for the lazy folkI've been looking exactly for this product - decent sound with both radio and CD (tape is a bonus) WITH REMOTE! There really hasn't been a middle-ground niche for reasonably-priced, decent featured audio boxes for the office/extra room/basement work area. This is the exact product solution to all my lazy needs for the various formats I like to listen to + a plentitude of functions. The Sony CFD-S39 has a nice little LCD clock, plus bonus timer functions for wake up, standby, etc. The design is quite attractive with decent heft and footprint.
The sound quality is very good - the MegaBass is not too much of an overkill. Optional 8, D-cell batteries make a nice power backup for your clock/presets even with power outages. I love the remote - CD + radio functions can be easily controlled at a distance.
Minor negative attributes is the absence of audio RCA jacks input/outputs - but I suppose that's how they keep the cost down. The only other minor frustration is the interface layout/programming. A few of the buttons serve as dual functions and it's not as intuitive as many other Sony well-designed products.

- G-Protection

- 64-track programming
- Nine playback modes
- Automatic volume limiter system for consistent volume

Great but delicate.
real niceThe sound is great, it never skips when I'm working out or in my car. The accessories are of high quality, as is the unit itself. It's very intuitive/easy to use.
I can't give it five stars because I haven't had it long enough, and besides, these portable gadgets are never perfect, but, this comes close so far.

Great System
A GREAT BUY FOR CERTAIN SPACES AND TASTES
Blue Neon
But, despite those two factors, Sony's Psyc CD player is a very good piece of equipment.
