I recently had this CD receiver installed in my truck after enduring six months of having a broken cassette receiver, and hence no music. I wanted a basic, clean sounding unit, and this one fit the bill. I'm not out to irritate others with booming bass or win any contests.

The controls are easy to use. Setting radio stations in memory is a snap. The ability to temporarily lower the volume with a tap on a button is a nice feature, too. I kept my factory speakers, and I was pleasantly surprised how good my Family and Peter Green Splinter Group CDs sounded with the power of this JVC CD receiver.

I didn't opt for the model with a remote control---it's not like I'm going to need it while driving a truck---or for a ton of power.

All in all, though, this unit is a deal, especially if you can find it on sale.

nice product. its got good sound qualtiy. i heard it at my friend's house. was playing pretty good. nice features. 60 watts and 3-cd changer at [a few]bucks is a pretty good deal.i hope that it will be soon in [amazon.com's] shopping list.

The sound is excellent for a boom box, and the fit, finish and feel of the unit is tops. My only criticism is that both the remote and the unit are a bit skimpy on the number of buttons, only the minimum number are on the unit. The remote is sufficient, but you will have to read the manual to figure out all of the functions.

With 40 second anti-skip protection, dynamic bass boost, extended battery life, and shock protection this is a fully-featured portable CD player. Then add a high degree of programming flexibility. You can program up to 24 tracks to play in any order and with any number of repeats. With an appropriate adapter, it works well in a car -- even my bouncy old Toyota Tacoma truck didn't faze it. Jogging, walking, and riding the exercise bike also don't bother it -- I've never made it skip. (Although that may say more about my lax exercise habits than the Koss!!) The headphones that come with it are fine, but I swapped them out for Koss' noise reducing headphones. I travel a lot by plane and those headphones block out most noise. The sound is great. Not surprisingly, it is optimized for rock -- classical doesn't work as well. You lose some of the high end of the orchestra. Battery life is surprisingly long. Highly recommended.

This CD Player is a great buy! It's fairly inexpensive and comes with a lot of stuff. I just bought it recently and I a very pleased with it. Sounds good and comes with a lot of play options. Shuffle, 24 Track Programming, a 10-sec intro mode and other cool features. Only problem, and a small one at that, is the headphones aren't great, I reccomend that you buy another set.

Plays cds and mp3s just fine. The "hold" button is vital once play has started -- the buttons on the face-plate will activate if you are carrying it around, like in your pocket -- so play is easily interrupted, or the screen info will change in unexpected ways. If you don't turn it all the way off with two clicks of the "stop" button, the play will continue and the batteries will drain, resulting in a very unstable performance that will start play and stop after a few minutes -- annoying til you figure it out. I use this to play old time radio catalog radio shows, and the manual fails to explain that holding down the "next program" button will give you a fast-forward function. It's bare-bones, rattles a bit, but it plays good and the price is right.

I think that the Memorex player is a good cd player because it has a long playback time even on regular AA batteries.It also has a wide range of features that include extra bass.This is the perfect gift for those on the go because it was quite simply ....built for it.A good Purchase all in all due to the price

This cd player is not bulky and the sound is really great! The tuner picks up all stations AM/FM clearly. The price is very befitting of the product. It is not too expensive, especially for all the cheap ones like myself! Memorex really did it this time! Your teens will love it. I know I do!
