great value
good replacements-good price
Great sound for its priceThey also block out alot of sound with a small size, and have great range. My music has alot of depth with these, which makes a big difference over other headphones.
The cord is long, making them very useful for my daily commute as well as use at the computer. They fold to a pretty compact size and fit easily into the included pouch.
My only complaint is that after about 45 minutes, they start to feel a little snug.

- Fully featured amplifier works with virtually any phone
- Convertible noise-canceling headset
- Headset/handset switch
- Tone control, mute option with indicator light
- Connects easily to single- or multi-line corded phones
List price: $104.95 (that's NaN% off!)

Does the job but...Other than that, I have been using it for over 6 months now and it has been working well enough to keep.
Works perfectly for meThe earhook setup is light and I find that I forget I'm wearing it until I run into the cord turning my chair or standing up. It is nice that nothing actually sits inside my ear but rather it rests gently on the outside.
Volume wise: In addition to adjusting the volume and tone of incoming signal it really has power available to broadcast your voice out. There are two ranges available for output as well as a volume in each range. The highest range is too much but it is good to know its there if I ever get someone complaining they can barely hear me (as happened all the time with a previous headset system).

Great Product, Almost PerfectI only have one major problem with theBoom and that is the lack of an inline button. Many (most) headsets have a button inline with the cord that can be used for different features with your phone. Often this button is used to mute, but on many Samsung devices, this button is used to activate the voice dial. Theboom does not have an inline button and hence makes it a bit of a pain to communicate with devices use this feature.
Overall a great product, but for the pricetag, I wish they would address this concern.
a MUST for a truly mobile professionalWith theboom it has been a different story. The best part is that I am now truly mobile!; with my handheld and theboom I can take and make calls from anywhere and no one realizes I am not in my office.
I take and make lot of my calls during my train commute. I can whisper on the boom and still be heard on the other side without any background noise that would give away my location. Due to the fact that I am whispering, my neighbours can't hear me at all, so I am worried about being overheard.
Overall it has changed the way I use my cell phone. So if you do business on your cell phone, you should buy it.
Best Headset Ever - "you have to try it to believe"The latest model comes with an ear piece that directs sound into your ear canal in noisy environments and has a comfortable over-the-ear holder that keeps the headset in place.
I have recommended this to friends and co-workers time and time again. Once you try this, you'll never go back to anything else.

Great headset but...
Still great...For the price this headset is very hard to beat, if not impossible. If it breaks you're out ~$10. Big deal, buy another one. You could buy several and still spend less money than a fancier headset that probably doesn't sound as good.
Excellent headset!

Great for speach recognition and books on tape. It's very confortable, and it's able to change sizes, and it can cover everything from my small head to my brother's large head.
It's sound is fine for the computer's voice, books-on-tape Mp3 files, and anything along that. Games and Stereo music sounds okay, but not recommended. It's not made for that, although it is fine if you don't mind it much. But be warned, this is not for people playing games like Quake all the time.
Lastly, the main problem is the cord. It isn't a problem if you are a long way from your sound input/headphone jack, but it is very long, and can sometimes get in the way. If you use a twist-tie and wrap it up, you should be fine, though.
All in all, a good purchase if you want to do speach, but not good for 3D and stereo games and music.
Good for games.

Good Old-fashioned volume knob!
Careful what you wish for.The pluses: It seems very solid and durable, is a no-brainer to operate, and produces relatively high-frequency (if a bit hollow-sounding) fidelity.
Minuses: It's deeper than I'd bargained for. The only under-the-cabinet space that would accommodate it was in a corner. Curiously, Sony's instructions warn against installing it near florescent lighting. (What are you supposed to do--rewire your kitchen?) This may explain why radio reception, while decent, is hardly startling. Only by fiddling with the electrical cord (which does double duty as an antenna) can I get acceptable sound on most of the fringe (40-70 miles out) stations. If only manufacturers would scrap some of the automatic features and station memory banks in favor of more sensitive and selective tuners. And, true, the unit has a "mega-bass" switch with a single setting--but does anyone remember the days when radios came with a handy little knob called a "tone control"?
All in all, a well-made product offering solid performance and value. An excellent gift for the handyman in the family.
Love this radio!

Nice headphones but still bulky
Sennheiser HD580 with DSP
Sennheiser 580 with DSP ProFirst, people who claim that the HD-580 has inferior sound quality to any other headphone made or possible are imagining things. This is understandable if they've either bought substantially more expensive 'phones or believe in mystical powers conferred on audio signals by fancy wires, or whatever. If you do not fall into these categories, you will be as satisfied by the HD-580 as you can hope to be by mere headphones.
They're not particularly sensitive, and those claiming they get noticeable bass distortion at listenable levels are undoubtedly driving them from an underpowered source. With decent amplification, as from a dedicated amp or a good preamplifier, you won't find distortion at noticeable levels before you damage your hearing.
The DSP Pro, which generally comes bundled with the remaining supplies of the HD-580, really is a disappointment. I use it at the office as a simple amplifier to get a bit more volume, but when the effects processing is on sound quality becomes miserable, with the high frequencies particularly drastically affected. This is actually a shame, because the spatial effect is pretty decent. On stereo recordings so poorly mixed that entire instruments are present only in the left or right track, something rather disconcerting to hear over headphones, switching on the effects really smooths out the sound and helps pull it out of your head. The mangling of high frequencies is just too much to bear, though-- it sounds as if the vocals are coming from the bottom of a well.
For video games and so on, where fidelity to the signal is perhaps less important, I don't find it so objectionable, and it does do its job there.
These are one of the true bargains in hi-fi while the leftover stock remains. Unless you're one of the aforementioned nuts, there will never come a time when you wish you'd purchased a "better sounding" model. It will be quite obvious that such a thing is a pipe dream.
