Big Let Down
Who could have guessed these would be so good for the price?
These headphones fold FLAT and fit in my briefcase
- 30mm driver unit for high quality sound
- Exclusive, comfortable, behind-the-neck headband
- Acoustic Twin Turbo circuitry delivers powerful bass
- Gold-plated stereo mini plug
List price: $39.99 (that's NaN% off!)

Kick Ass Sound !The slightly longer cord is a nice touch. It allows freedom of movement without being so long that it entangles you.
The only downside to these headphones is the comfort level... The soft rubber parts that fit over the tops of the ears have a thin joining line that digs ever so slightly behind the ears. This is really just a minor annoyance, and isn't too noticable unless you wear these for an extended period of time. But that is why I didn't give these headphones 5 stars.
PROS: Nice bass response
Good overall sound
Good value for the money
Behind-the-neck design
Folds up
CONS: Can become uncomfortable after a while
Great Headphones... BUT...A short time ago, the sound started breaking up, and the things that I was listening to suddenly started to sound incredibly muffled.
It was at this stage that I realised that the actual adaptor part of the jack had started to break up & fall apart, revealing the internal wires that were connected to the headphone plug.
The only conclusion I could come to was that the headphones had deteriorated from overuse, but I expected a bit more from a Sony product.
Thank goodness there was a 365 day warrantee on these headphones. I took them back to the shop and was told that this model is now discontinued. The shop then gave me a refund to buy a new set of heaphones.
I think the design of these headphones is great, but I was dissapointed with the level of fragility - especially from a Sony product.
Nearly Perfect HeadphonesLets begin. The headphones come in a nice package, excellent presentation. The cord length is very generous, works well for nearly all situations. I have yet to run out of slack running around with my Muvo NX clipped to my belt.
The headphones can collapse into a small footprint, maybe a tiny bit bigger than a tennis ball. Very portable, will fit in my cargo pants pocket when folded up. When folded, they stay that way and don't tend to unfold on their own. Vice-versa for when they are unfolded.
Now for the real stuff. The sound quality is EXCELLENT for headphones of this price. The bass response is better than my full ear-cover headphones I use at my computer, and the highs are clear and crisp. Midrange doesn't sound airy or washed out, everything sounds just wonderful. If you enjoy bass in your music, these headphones are for you. A little bit of tweaking on my Muvo and these were definitely one of the best headphones I've ever owned.
To top all this off, they are very comfortable to wear. The soft rubber clips fit snugly, so you can run around in these without issue. Leaning back is a slight issue, you just have to be careful about leaning on the neckband, or else they'll shoot forward. This is a common problem with all behind the neck headphones though, so nothing to worry about.
The earpads are very comfortable, and very soft and pliable. My only concern is the durability of these earpads. They seem like they would just rip on accident sometime soon, or just absorb sweat and disintegrate. Hopefully Sony sells cheap replacements, as I am gonna keep these headphones around for a long time to come.
Summary:
PROS:
-Compact design when folded
-Comfortable
-Excellent sound quality in all ranges
-Tremendous bass output
-Generous length of cord.
-Fits snugly so will not fall off
-Excellent price
CONS:
-Earpads, while very comfortable, seem a bit flimsy
-Leaning back on your neck can push the headphones forward.
-No clip or easy way to wrap up cord when not in use.
Other than those three items, I have absolutely no complaint about these. Definitely money well-spent.

Great Earbuds With Incredible Sound
Astounding sound from these inexpensive buds!!To say that I was stunned after trying them out is a gross understatement. They sound SPECTACULAR! I am far from a newcomer to quality audio and I own some first-rate equipment but you have to wonder why anyone would pay hundreds of dollars for a pair of top audio headphones when a $12 pair of ear-buds will blow your socks off. They provide deep solid bass (surprise!) and a full clean range of frequency. Aside from a built in volume control Sony provides a cheap but quite convenient plastic case that allows you to quickly roll the whole thing up and pack it away neatly. The unit also comes with foam covers for the ear-piece but they are useless and I quickly threw them out. This is a superb buy but be forewarned that in the ear buds take a bit of getting used to. Once you find the best way to place them in your ear they are quite comfortable and you will truly marvel at the sound they put out. Indeed, this may be the best buy to be had in the audio world today (no joke!).
Are these headphones mispriced? The sound is very pleasing! The bass compliments the higher notes very nicely. There is an equal balance of both, so one does not drown out the other. Yet the bass is powerful at the same time. I really like the adjustable volume control on the cord! The only problem with this product is that the cord may not be long enough for some people, but this is a very minor problem.

Nice while it lasts
Good Sound, One Problem...
PerfectThe comfort issue someone else mentioned is real--it takes a while to build up the calluses to use them for really long periods of time, and you can't use them lying on your side. But it's worth it.

They fell apart after a year of great sound
Some great affordable heandphones
Awsome one of if not the BEST!!!

ummm, not sure about everyone else1) yeah the look cool, but all the behind-the-head headphones make it nearly impossible to rest your head on the seat of a bus or anything where you might need to just relax
2) i went through 2 pairs (my first cd player broke down so i got another one that incidently came with the same headphones) and each one ended up breaking on the sides
3) they don't want to sit in properly, each pair had a tendency to get kind of warped and sit funny, and after contorting it back into position a thousand times it just broke
overall: very good sound quality, cool looks, poor design (make sure you have normal head, but then again, i thought i had one too) also, the cord is fairly short

Nice player, better if it wasn't crippledBiggest drawback that negates all of the above is that they DRM crippled the little thing. It was so nice up until you find out you have to use TDK's proprietory UniFi software. Which unifies nothing. It "allows" you to copy mp3s from you system to it. And then they are dead. You can't copy them back, you can't transfer them to anything else. And here's the best part, Windows does not recognize the device unless you install the software.
It is all the software as well, if you merely remove the SD card you can move and copy MP3s to it via a reader and the mojo plays them fine. But obviously this doesn't work for the main flash memory. And you need the software to make it work... so unless someone reverse engineers the program, don't buy this.
Great for the 1 day it lasted
everything works well, surprising at the price!Only problems so far: had to cut a hole in the carrying case for the mic, no provision for an external mic, plastic case fit and look are a let down, software on PC sometimes doesn't recognise the player (shut-down and try again.)
This gadget is great-- light, cheap, upgradable, good battery life and data, voice, mp3, FM radio all in one. Hard to beat.

Not a "Lady's Phone"The range is great. Audio is crystal clear. No interrupts on our wireless-g network, save one small glitch with the laptop, resolved by changing channels.
The belt clip is for belts, not slacks or skirts. Women don't always wear belts. It needs more tension or a tighter grip to be able to hold on to the thinner materials women wear. I tried using the clip to hook it to a long key lanyard, worn around the neck, but it was too heavy/clunky to be worn that way comfortably.
Problem 2 - headset or over the ear? Again, a "woman" issue - small ears prevent me from comfortably using the over the ear ear/mic. Using the headset is great with the exception of a little too much tension on the ear causing a sore spot, earpiece cover isn't soft enough to accommodate even small earrings (conforming foam would have been better).
Recommendations to the manufacturer - it would be *great* if, after you fix the tension issues w/ the beltclip, you could fix it so the belt clip would mount in either direction. What I mean is wearing the unit upside down would allow you to read/see display & buttons when looking down at it.
Tops for Comfort & Sound QualityThe boom microphone is excellent. It doesn't reach around in front of your mouth the way old-fashioned headsets did, which is an advantage. A red LED at the end flashes to let people know you are on the phone.
Drop the phone into the base unit and it charges automatically, giving you about 5 hours of talk time. A stalk on the base unit swivels up so you can hang the headset up when its not in use.
Comfort is so good you can forget you have it on (I wore it out to my car the other day. Doh!). The handset has a belt clip and there is a shirt clip to keep the cord out of your way. You can switch the ear piece and mic from one ear to the other in about three seconds. Likewise, you can pick up the headset almost as quickly as you could a regular phone.
Range is good. I pace around my office and don't find the signal degrades, although walls, partitions and doors will obviously shorten range. If you need more range than this offers, you probably need a cell phone.
Build quality and metrials are both excellent. It takes normal wear and tear and has been dropped several times with no ill effects. Design is modern and attractive.
The only shortcoming worth noting is ergonomic -- I had to dock it one star because the buttons are needlessly small (think TV remote circa 1990), though they are clearly marked and easily readable.
Recommended.
Great for home office* portable - small belt unit is light, offers great battery life and includes all the features I need
* great headset - sound quality is equal to that of a handset (people do not know you are on a headset); comfortable with two fit options, Firefly function is nice bonus
* Caller-ID - included on belt unit, works as expected
* 2.4 Ghz - range is good, does not cause interference with my wireless network (previous phones from Panasonic and others have)
Only negative is that you cannot answer or otherwise use the phone while it is charging (must remove the belt unit from the charger). All in all, highly recommended.

- Huge storage capacity; 10GB hard disk holds up to 333 hours WMA files or 166 hours of 128kbps MP3
- Fast downloads and broad compatibility, with USB 2.0 connectivity (USB 1.1 compatible)
- Long play time; rechargeable lithium-ion battery supports up to 16 hours operation
- Easy management with comprehensive indexing and Creative PlayCenter software
- Includes player, stereo headphones, and USB 2.0 cable

Not BadOther then my problem though i would recommend this product to anyone. A friend of mine has the same product and his is working exceptionaly well.
Great Player for the price.
So far so goodBTW, just to clear one thing up. You can shuffle a playlist. It has a USB 2.0 connection so you know its pretty fast. It takes about 2-3 seconds to transfer a song. I'm using Windows XP Home edition on my Dell and so far I haven't had any problems with installing or using the software. In fact, the software is quite easy to use. Just plug and play.

- 30mm drivers provide rich stereo sound
- Features microNCAT-2 noise canceling and amplification microphone technology
- Includes mute switch and volume control
- Behind-the-head style with replaceable ultrasoft foam earpads

Don't buy these, and avoid Labtec headsets period.I saw this headset in a store circular, mislabeled as a Logitech product. I was sorely disappointed to find out they were not (I had the product purchased by someone else, as I was unable to get to the store in question at the time.) They worked very well at first, and I was quite happy. Within two days, I noticed that the right earpiece would lose and gain volume, sometimes completely ceasing to function. This continues to this day, and it is difficult to adjust the volume correctly (touching the on-cord volume knob is a definite no-no, as this will ruin the sound quality in both speakers.) Also, it should be noted that the headband does not adjust, so if you're like me and would like to lie back and listen to some music, you'll find that the headband prevents such relaxation.
Long story short: Avoid this headset, avoid all Labtec headsets. Spend the extra [money] and get a headset of higher quality, like a Sony (which is what I plan to do in a few months when these die like I know they will.)
A Recommended BuyHere are my thoughts after a couple weeks of use: For the money, a great purchase. The slimmer, behind the neck design is nice. They've been comfortable to wear for up to 8 hours of use. The microphone has provided very good pick up and clarity without transmitting a lot of background noise; and the headphones provide very nice clarity for both natural and comp-gen vocals with the volume levels, from min to max, seeming to span just the right range for my tastes.
If you're looking for great music reproduction, these aren't it. Again, the vocals are very clear, but the music lacks the richness and depth that my external speakers provide. In short, it's a bit flat. But, with a bit of tweaking with an equalizer, I'm perfectly content to listen to mp3's on these while I play.
The microphone swivel has a very solid feel to it, and stays exactly here you put it. The cord has plenty of length to it, but I don't think it would take a lot of excessive abuse before it would break at it's connection point to the earphones. Recommend puting a dab of glue on the foam mic cover to keep it in place.
I didn't give these 5 stars because they didn't WOW! me; but for the price, a highly recommended buy.
Great headphones and great microphone! Superb.Whilst looking around for a multimedia headphone for use with Netmeeting and for listenting to music, I found the Labtec Axis-002 at a local electrical store in France (I can't order these through Amazon internationally) and thought what the hell?
Fantastic! They look like proper decent personal headphones and sound like them too. The microphone is also very good.
During tests with Netmeeting over our LAN the microphone worked really well as it did in a more objective test using the PC to record the sound input as a .wav file. Tests using IBM Via Voice to do voice recognition and dictation resulted in a higher accuracy than with the bundled Via Voice headset (Andrea Anti-Noise NC-61).
Obviously you can spend far more on better, much more expensive, headphones and a dedicated microphone but for pc use (video conference, gaming, music and voice recognition) these work fantastically well and are discrete enough that you don't look like an idiot at your desk! What more could you want?
Minor words of caution from one who knows:
1) Glue down the foam on the end of the microphone or you'll lose it in the office!
2) Be careful with the otherwise helpful extra long cable (2m). It has a tendency to get caught up in the wheels on office chairs, as I know only too well. Try to place the cable out of harm's way, its long enough to go around most desktop obstacles. I have asked Labtec if they plan to do a quick release for these in the same way that Sony do on their headsets so that you don't break the cable. Labtec said they'll think about it. Chuh right.
First of all, they were too big for my head. The minimum adjustment holds the speakers centered on my earlobe. If you have a smaller head (can wear kid-sized glasses for example), I suggest you look elsewhere.
The second disappointment was in the extra volume control. I assumed that I could get louder sound with two volume controls (the one on the headphones and the one on the CD player). Actually, the volume ended up being less than what I got out of my [...] headphones from Walgreens.
On the plus side, the swivel cups make them easier to carry around, and I don't have to be as careful when storing them because I don't worry about breaking off the speakers.
