Good sound but flawed headset receiverI finally got so frustrated that I simply ripped the headphones apart so I wouldn't be tempted to put up with them any longer.
If you buy these, get some extra batteries. The battery only lasts about 3 to 4 hours and takes something like 10 hours to fully recharge. The transmitter has two charging stations, so I got three batteries (one in the phones) and rotated them.
I was always a bit annoyed at having to tune the receiver on a battery swap, and, as the battery drains, the receiver drifts off frequency, so you have to adjust it some more.
I much prefer the Sony MDR-IF system; the IF-610 phones last much longer on a single charge (though the downside is that the non-removable battery must be charged in place and the phones are unusable during recharge). But as an infrared system, there's no tuning and no drifting, and the enclosure-style phones provide even better sound. It doesn't work through walls like the 6-9 does, though.
Great pair of phones, with few cons.Let's start with clarity. A review really isn't indictative of how good these headphones make music sound. I've listened to music (like most people) all my life, and when you put on a pair of headphones and you hear new things in songs you've known for years, that's really saying something about the clarity. Not having tried a pair of Sennheiser's before, I really was suprised by the sound quality - everything is crisp, the bass comes through deep and pounding, but best of all - no distortion.
Portability. I was a tad dissapointed by the fact that when I got more than about 20-30 metres away I got a bit of static, but it quite often depends what is around where you live. Example: at my old house, it worked great up to about 70-100 metres where it trailed off in quality, but at my residential college (lots of metal) it doesn't work well beyond 15-25 metres. Perhaps not so good for people in apartments.
Ease-of-use: Plug the simple cables in, charge the battery, plug it into the headphones, tune and you're away. Fantastic. Nothing more to say....except buy two batteries - you'll listen so much on these heaphones that you'll need them.
Overall a wonderful unit, as long as you don't live in an apartment.

Looks good...
A Holy Grail of the headphones
Discontinued but AWESOME!I found out these were discontinued but recived rave reviews everywhere I went. When I found that Amazon.com had them (totally by accident) I didn't hesitate and purchased them imediatly!
I am listening to them now and there is no question about it, they are awesome. I have never heard such detail with both a super acurate high and low yes low end unlike the Sennheiser HD600's. Also there closed so I can listen to music really loud and not bug anyone else, also it keeps other noise out. Oh and they are very comfortable plus the sound stage it incredibly wide.
Please Sony, why discontinue such a great product, the new CD2000's are not even closed there open backed.

Good, not great. Not worth the price.
Good, but let the business pay for it.The website for this product is www.sennheisercommunication.com
The construction is well made and feels solid, but the cables and ear pads are not replaceable, unlike many of their models. The USB is nice and works fine, but you can also detach the USB to have MIC and headphone 3.5mm outs which is very convenient if you have a good soundcard. I would presume that the pc150 model is only lacking the USB interface.
The microphone does the job well, but can easily pick up wind noise even though it has a noise-cancellation feature. Make sure that you place the mic below your mouth and you will be fine.
The price is a bit much, but the quality of the sound being produced by the headphone portion is as good as my 497s to my ears. I can sit and listen to music and take phone calls from my Cisco IP communicator with ease.
I would recommend it highly, but the retail listing prevents me from giving it 5 stars. Purchase the pc150s if you do not need the USB feature.

A decent headset for the non-loud user.First let me start off by saying that the headband doesnt press up against your ears. This is bad because when its not pressing up against your ears your allowing for more outside interference get into your headsets and into your ears breaking your concentration. When you have less outside interference you find that its easier to concentrate on what your doing. Also the volume level is decreased along with detailed sound. But it is very comfterable to wear, not heavy at all, and the head-size adjusters work awsome.
On this headset you really cant turn the volume up that loud without it distorting (the bass especially distorts badly although the treble rarely distorts if at all). But when you dont turn the volume up that loud it delivers pretty decent sound quality.
The wire is really thin making it easier to break/cut into. Due to the wire being thin, when you fondle/mess with the wire it distorts. Also sometimes when you move your body it distorts.
I had this headset for exactly a month and in about half way through that month my left speaker wasnt as loud as my right. It happened when I was listening to music. So I had to comprimise by using software to re-balance the amount of volume that went into each speaker. When I did this my overall sound wasnt as loud as it was before. That made me pretty mad.
If you really want to get your moneys worth, go buy a 30 dollar pair Koss ur-29. But at amazon you can get them alot cheaper. Read my Other review on that headset on amazon, just type in the search engine "Koss ur-29".
Nice headphones
Good if you press'emCheers

ShockWave Will Be Missed, But Not ReplacedLast week I finally lost my ShockWave radio, though I will miss it, I plan on trying my luck on something a little better. I could have swore that in the late 90's when you paid between $40-$60 dollars for a walkman you used to get something of slightly better quality. Now all you get in this price range is garbage. Is this progress?
The best little radio yetDownsides: Memorizing a station requires a Mensa certificate, no auto-off (do any of them?) - but these are minor. Great choice for a commuter radio.
I love the ItemPlanning to buy another one just in case, coz i know they don't distribute this anymore. do you think i reccomend this ? , you Bet. i bought a armstrap to put in , and it ready to go. try it , you will love it.
