surprisingly good
The DSP360 decoder/virtualizer, while small and lacking the 'high quality' finish of equivalent products from other makers, is surprisingly good. Several headphone enthusiast websites actually rate the DSP360 very highly, and consider it a great bargain.

my only complaint is that the unit (DSP360) defaults to 'speaker' mode when first powered up. of course, you buy this item expecting to use it with headphones, so why default to speaker mode? (And as the editorial review hints, the speaker mode is not worth the trouble.) Am I nitpicking? No, I'm trying to conserve my hearing. When in speaker mode, the volume control is basically disabled, so if the material you're listening to is very loud, you get first a shock, then painful ears. And worse, you frantically try to lower the volume, to no avail. To switch to 'headphone' mode, you have to press a button and HOLD it. It's in the manual, of course, but a lot of trouble could have been avoided if the DSP started with 'headphone' mode in the first place.

Audio is quite good, especially for the money. Using 'bypass' or disabling the 3D gives you stereo, useful when listening to CD's and other material not coded in Dolby Surround/Digital. In this mode, music really acquires 'space' and sounds more natural. I know it's not really a headphone amplifier to rival the best in the business, but the best in the business will set you back hundreds, even thousands of dollars more.

The headphones themselves are OK. You get what you pay for, as they say, and if you want still better headphones than the 535, then get the 580's. I'm saving up for those.

good sound + comfort
The first set of these headphones i got from amazon did not work, but i sent them back and the replacement was here in no time. The headphones have very good sound for this particular style. And the on cord volume control is very handy. The cord is very long and because it attaches to only one side of the headphones it does not get caught up easily which is great for using them with a computer. The think i like most though, is that the headphones are very comfortable. They are very light and do not get in the way of my glasses.
They also reduce noise but do not cut you off from the rest of the world - important in many office settings. Finally even if i have them up quite loud my officemates still cannot hear them.

All in all a really nice set of headphones

High Fidelity in a Tiny Package
These earphones from Shure are the mid-priced ($130) model in their line of in-ear phones. The E2 is a lower-priced ($90) consumer-oriented version with black cables and a more rounded contour. The E5 has two separate drivers and goes for around $450. The sound quality is excellent with the disposable foam earplugs, which seal out noise and allow good bass response. The reusable plastic earplugs fall out and bass is non-existent due to the poor seal. I haven't tried the optional triple-seal earplugs ($10) or the custom-molded earplugs ($100 from an audiologist). These earphones deliver tight, robust bass (with foam plugs) and extremely crisp highs, and they don't even mess up your hair! They are so precise, you may want to record MP3's at higher than the 128K standard. I read a review that said the pink plastic materials look like some kind of medical device, but I find they blend in nicely and are almost unnoticable. One drawback is that you have to squeeze the earplugs back into your ear canal every time you take them off - unlike conventional headphones that you can whip off and on, but are uncomfortable while resting in an airplane seat! Overall, they're a good value if you need a very small high-fidelity device.

Not Bad for The Price
What sold me on these heaphones was the bargain price, the Sony brand name, and the neodymium magnets. I was not disapointed. Sure, there are alot better looking and better sounding headphones, but for the price, these are amazing!! The bass is great, the rest is only okay. But now most people care only about base anyways so for most people, the sound will be great. I also noticed that at higher volumes, these headphones are prone to slight distortion at higher volume levels, but you shouldn't be listening to them that loud anyways. If your looking for cheap, portable headphones, look nowhere else. You can't go wrong with the Sony's at this price. P.S. The earphones actually swivel to fit your ears better.

Very nice set of headphones
I just got a pair of these this past Father's Day and after three days of use, I love them! I have them hooked up to my receiver through the headphone jack so I can watch TV or movies at any volume I want without disturbing the family at night, or while other people are in the room reading or whatever.

The base doubles as a charging stand, so they are always ready to go. The base also only broadcasts when it detects an audio signal. The headphones themselves only turn on when they are on your head. All very well planned out and designed.

I haven't tested the whole 150ft range, but I have been able to get all over the house and still get good sound quality. My only problem with them so far is I wish the adjustable strap could get a little tighter ... they feel a little loose on my head. Other than that, a great set of headphones!

Good price, good sound
Ok, I'm not an audiophile. I'm not a headphone expert. I'm just someone who really likes to listen to music while working out, and these do a really good job. They're lightweight, produce a clean sound, and don't fall off my head. The ear buds sometimes come out of my ears, but not too much.

    Great Sound
These headphones are really great for working out, they are light, comfortable and the sound quality is excellent. You can connect to a CD player or computer with relative ease and the sound is still great. They fit differently than most headphones, and it takes some getting used to, but they are comfortable.

Nice and Portable Noise cancelling headphones
I just got them three days back and I have to admit I like these a lot. First, from a design perspective they are just COOL. When all the other noise cancelling headphones (at least the good ones) are big and bulky, this one is easy to handle and use (behind the neck design) and it folds away for storage. The sound quality is good but cannot be compared to my Sennheiser HD-500 headphones. The noise cancelling function needs a AAA battery and does a good job (not exceptional). I tried them while mowing my lawn outside and they worked pretty damn good. All-in-all I am gonna be using these all the time when I am not at home since they are not as bulky to carry around as my Sennheisers. Recommended.

    Good for the price
This set of headphones certainly isn't the greatest in the world. Its main flaws include a short cord and relatively flimsy design. Its design features a neckband and basic foam-padded circular speakers (2.5" diameter). Some people may like that setup, others may not.

The long and short of it is that these headphones work. Their sound quality is decent; I have no complaints on those grounds. And the current price can't be beat.

If you're not looking for anything special, this set of headphones is a bargain that shouldn't be passed by.
