    Extremely Pleasing Transcients
I bought a pair of the ESP 950's in 1994 from a wholesaler for 495.00, I have collected high end audio gear my whole life and have several complete systems; however night time listening can
make your family very hostile...so I use these for stealth listening of my SACD and Hybrid Surrond encoded DVD's and Cd's.
The transcients on electrostatic phones are amazing, they tend to be a little bright with standard supplied connects, so I use my Transparent Audio Music Plus RCA inter-connects to the koss
E 90 unit which come with and runs these babies. Shear heaven!
I have been thinking of having some one build me a tube headphone amp for these headphones...then my family would be hostile again ..cause I would not want to go to work anymore.

This is one real good stereophone. Stereophones. Plural.
Real good and real expensive. What else can you say?

    Very positive first impressions
I just got this and my first impressions are totally positive. I bought it because I was really sick and tired of the dangling headphone wire, which sometimes gets caught on my jacket or other things. I'm surprised that there aren't many products like this.

With support for MP3 and AAC (advanced audio coding, a better-than-MP3 audio format developed by Dolby), the SD05 can hold up to 2 hours of hi-fi music. It's surprisingly easy to operate, and because it's foldable, easy to transport, too. The manual is a bit skimpy, but I think most people can figure it out pretty quick. The headset itself is comfortable, although I wish there were more bass.

    Panasonic Rules
I have never used this particular product before but since it is panasonic it is almost garunteed to be good
    thank you

    THE BEST ON THE PLANET!
These headphones are the best headphones I have ever owned. The bass response is so awesome you forget you're wearing headpones. I use them primarily with my Philips FR965 receiver and they get very loud but stay clear and distortion free. If you like to hear your music loud and clear, don't buy anything else. These are the best kept audio secret on the market.

    Da Bomb
Thes headphones are DA BOMB. I love them plug them int anything, and ROCK OUT!!wonderful bass

    A Great PC Headset
EDIT: This review is based on the American version of the same product. However, if the two versions are similar enough, my rating should stay the same.

Just as a first hand note, my rating is based on the price range for this item. This has good audio quality, both out through the headphones and in through the microphone. This obviously isn't a high-quality audiophile-wooing headset, but I'd say it has sound plenty good for anything you may want to use it for on a day to day basis (that includes music). The headset is very comfortable, and is easily adjustable to fit even up to the largest heads. The microphone is nicely placed, and is adjustable as well, though somewhat awkwardly compared to the headset itself. The microphone can also fold up when not in use. There is a control on the cord that can mute the microphone as well as adjust the headphone volume. The cord is also very long, but includes a clip for attaching to clothing or where ever else a clip may serve handy. This has been purchased not only by myself, but two of my best friends, and even by the local LAN gaming arcade for every PC there, and all have given it praise. For this value, you can't go wrong with the Plantronics headset, and I would recommend it to anybody.

    great for the price
most of the complaints that i have heard are about it breaking.who cares if it breaks its got a year warrenty on it.if your like me with a new computer and a great sound card this headset is the best for you

    Plantronics Encore Headset
For people who need to use a headset in a small noisey office atmosphere this an excellent headphone set. Good clear, crisp hearing and we're no longer having to nearly hollar to be heard when speaking. We spend 10 to 14 hours a day on the phone - what a great piece of equipment to add to our office. I would rate this 5 star plus!

Well worth the price because Plantronics gives quality.
I bought this headset/adapter set almost a year ago after experiencing Plantronics products in my work enviroment at a call center. Did you know how all those customer service representatives sit there and talk to you on these? They are very comfrtable to wear for extended periods of time, and honestly the reason I got mine is because I have trouble hearing in one ear. Earphones on both sides of a headset like this are a must for me. My callers never know I'm on a headset, all they know is that when I switch to it, they can hear me better. When I tell them I'm on headset, they can't believe it. I have my own business now, and spend a huge amount of time on the phone, which is exactly why I bought it. The only thing I don't like about it that I'm hooked by a cord to the phone all the time. BUT, I'd imagine the sound quality wouldn't even come close, if this headset was cordless. In summary...I'd reccomend it to anyone whose time on the phone is an investment. Mine is...that's why I have this product. Kudos to Plantronics for making call center headsets available to the general public at a decent price.

great price on a top-quality headset
I've been using a tri-star headset at home for several years. I like it so much that now I'm buying a second one to use at work. If you don't like the idea of having a bulky headset or a band that goes across the top of your head, then this headset is perfect for you. It fits right over your ear and is very comfortable, even for those long conference calls.

Voice pickup and sound quality is top-notch. You will need an amplifier of some sort. I've been able to get mine to work with a Cisco IP phone and a Polycom phone with simple adapter cables, so check your phone first to see if it has headset support built in.

      Highly recommended!

      The best telephone headset ever
The Plantronics Tristar headset is the best telephone headset I've found.

Please note that you will need a separate Plantronics amplifier in order to use this headset with your telephone. See Plantronics web-site for your choices. I use the M12 amplifier.

      Good Budget Headphones
I am a total head-fi freak. I make sure that I always suit my needs with the best possible music and sound quality from headphones. To fill this urge, I bought a pair of Sennheiser HD-595s because they were easier to drive than other Senn's and they also are much brighter, so they are better-suited for rock music.

My music preferences are as follows:

Rock (Aerosmith, Nirvana, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, The Eagles, David Bowie, Black Sabbath, Queen)
      Electronica
      Techno/Trance

      Jazz

These headphones really shined in the Rock category. It reproduced songs beautifully, with good mids, very nice and deep lows, and good vocals. Sound channeling is excellent to give you the very best detail in all of your music.

Again, as I said before, these headphones are very powerful and therefore don't require an amp to be driven. I first ran the headphones directly to my SACD player, and noticed a MUCH bigger improvement over the HD-580s than expected. I then plugged it into my Meta42 headphone amp, and.. WOW! I was very impressed by how much more this unit shines with good gear.

In addition, these 'phones are very comfortable, and open-sound, so that it will be comfortable to wear for hours-on-end, and wont make it uncomfortable/sweaty around your ears.

To conclude, these headphones are a VERY good starter headphone for the developing-audiophile. The value is superb, the quality is great, the comfort and build quality is the usual Sennheiser best, and it doesn't require high-end material to shine like all other products from Sennheiser. This means that you can purchase these 'phones and get great results, and then when you are ready to take the plunge for a headphone amp, you will get even BETTER results. These headphones are the perfect example why a headphone amp can make a huge difference in your listening experience.

I hope this review has helped.

      WARM BUT DETAILED
Wow! This headphone is awsome. It totally breathes life into my music and i lisen to all types of music (electronic, hip-hop, classical, jazz, rock.). The only way to describe the sound of this this headphone is warm but very detailed. The HD590's are cold and detailed. I can hear things in songs that i never heard before. not only doese it sound good but it feels good. They are so comfortable. There is not a lot of pressure on your head but they have a snug fit. The pads are very soft and not irritating. The only negative thing i can say about it is that sound leaks through these headphones. It might bother others and outside noise might bother you.

      Incredible
These are the best sounding headphones I have ever experienced. They are quite large but very comfortable since they are not heavy and the headband is well designed. The earcup material is very easy to wear for long periods of time. I have no suggestions as to how to improve them.

Great quality for the sound (with good sound card)
At first I plugged it in and thought it was a piece of junk. When I checked the cound card settings I noticed that it was actually using the sound card to record the audio. I didn't think I would get sound this good for less than $20.

        I miss mine
I am an aspiring recording artist, who's budget simply does not allow the purchase of expensive equipment to record on (yet)... In lieu of that, I use equipment that has value...or more than one quality... The only examples that I have as of the present is my Harmon/Kardon CDR20 which, even though it put a [large] dent in my pocket, provided me some very good quality CD recordings. Actually, with the use of that and my teenage boombox, I proceeded to make my first demo. Another example is the Athlon XP 1700+ headed computer that I use to record on now that put an even bigger dent in my pocket... Its uses are of many, so again, I come out in a less sacrificial stance...
Now, as far as the first demo that I mentioned in the previous paragraph...it took me some time and creativity, but I did it...and it sounded good. Since I started the recording with a much less valuable Coby microphone, I was able to see the instant difference that the ATR20 provided. My voice sounded more balanced and alive, where as though the Coby microphone which costed about 50% less sounded like, well, a cheap microphone--over-exxagerated voice, with much less presence.
The Audio-Technica is a clear winner...and it didn't make me sound like I was performing at a concert or anything. Just like a studio, without the added quality (how much could I expect from my boombox'x mic mixing capabilities which were fully automated? )...
Over the year, I've been away from home, and although I have been able to record better sounding musical/vocal mixes via my recently purchased computer, the quality of the voice is apparently less realistic. I am almost as anxious to get back to that microphone as I am to my wife and children...:-)
I am here to tell you, that this microphone is worth it. Of course, the ATR30 has a wider frequency range and probably better sound...but for the Amateur, I'm going to advise going with the ATR20. And with the fact that I see it here for about twenty dollars, I am tempted to buy it again just to have it while I'm here...
