Nice headphones al beit expensive
These are a lot of money in my mind to be spending on headphones. On the other hand though if you want quality you have to pay...well these headphones are very warm and natural, the sound isn't in your face. You can listen to these for hours and not experience any fatigue whatsoever. The new bionetic design is uber comfortable. Though these aren't exactly audiophile level they are still a great sounding pair of headphones that I wouldn't mind picking up again. So a minus 1 for price and because they require such a good source to be run at peek volume warrants these headphones a 4 out of 5 from me.

Good value for certain kinds of music
As others have mentioned, these headphones tend to emphasize the bass and sound too boomy for classical music or acoustic. But, if you're into heavy electronica, this is actually not bad. I got these at a decent bargain, so they were worth that price for the comfort and the decent sound. The Sennheiser SR60s may be a better choice for those who listen to lots of classical over their 'phones. For pop and electronica, I love these for the punch.

Mid-Range headphones at their best
A couple of weeks ago I was still using my wireless Phillips headset which also cost me 60$, but the flat-earpads made my ears hurt way 2 much. So I went on a search for a decent sounding, mid-priced but comfortable headset. I read about the HD500...

After getting the HD500 for 100$ (Which was the most I wanted to spend on a wired headset) I must say I've been very pleased with it thus far. The sound quality is great, the high-mid-low values are all well done, the Mids can (at times) get a little pressed by the excellent bass and pretty darn good highs though. I use this headset for my PC, so I also play games and the added bass does make the guns and the explosions sound nice and powerfull. Yet, don't get me wrong, the bass never gets to the point where it's 2 much (except if I put the bass on 100% using my speakers, then it's just an enormous amount of quality bass) it is, though, good 2 know that IF I ever need bass, this baby definently has it :D

And, ofcourse, my main quest: Comfort. Are these headphones comfortable?
The answer is: Yes; It could have used a little more air-circulation but overall you ears won't get hurt or sweaty, since they don't touch the insides, they just rest infront of it (unlike my old Phillips) and they're also very light, which helps raise the comfort level.

Overall, I've found that if these things are on your "Check" list this is THE headphone for you:

1.)Great sound quality. Not bad, not excellent.
2.)Don't need to go portable. Used for stationary devices only.
3.)Don't want to spend 200-300$ for a headphone. But still want quality.
4.)Comfortable to wear for long periods.

If that's what you want, this is an excellent headphone for you, and atleast you can say: 'I have a Sennheiser.' :P

price reflects the quality
Though the great price on this mp3 player makes it more attainable than an iPod, the external quality of it is poor. Good for running and exercising, the small, compact shape makes it easy to carry around in your pocket or purse. Unfortunately, the cheap outer coating on mine started coming off about a month after I bought it, so that now (at one year old) it looks very cheap and used. The screen does not display the name or artist of the songs, only a number to which it is assigned, which was disappointing as well.
The software often crashes, but is easy to use for beginners. Also, the program seems cheaply put together as well.
But again, I have had mine for one year and it still works prfectly. If internal quality is your real concern, and you have no preference of how it looks, I'd say this mp3 player is a great deal.

Less is more!
This player is great. I exchanged an iRock 730i for it, and so far I've absolutely loved the simplicity of it and it's great features. The toggle button is great. Not only is it unique, but it makes all the controls into one switch right at your fingertips. Although some might argue that this player isn't all that since it lacks ID3 tag support, I don't see much of a problem with it since I won't question what song is playing -- if I downloaded it to the player myself, wouldn't I know what it was in the first place? I really like how you can change the equalizer settings during playback. The sound is great, including volume level, and the transfer software is really easy to use. The simplicity of the player makes it extremely appealing. Definitely worth the investment.

Excellent Product at a great price!
It was so easy to load the software and get connected to my pc. In just a few minutes I was converting cd tracks to mp3 and downloading to the player. I had never subscribed to an MP3 web site but the player comes with a free trial offer and now I'm hooked. The sound is fantastic. Great bass even without the base boost turned on. All features are easy to access with the "mode" button and a jog button. It's so light weight that I don't even feel it in my shirt pocket. Only suggestions would be a backlight and a belt clip. Integration with Windows Media Player would also be nice.

Fair.
They look neat, sound fair, and tangle quite easily. Despite their appearance, they really are not well designed for active people. While running, sweat somehow manages to run down the plastic clips and "flood" the ear buds. It did not long before they started to sound weak, and lose bass response. Finally my right side blew, even though my MP3 player has a pretty mild sound output.

I got a few months of use out of them, and am debating getting a new pair. I don't like the idea of disposable hardware; I expected much better from Sony.

Designed for a selected few however very inexpensive.
I love sony, however these headphones are barely above par. I wear glasses so they don't fit correctly and consequently don't feel comfortable at first. I'm use to them now but they are very sleek and I barely notice them now. I like them because they're not in my hair. I like the tangle free design though it's much better than finding knots in the after taking them out of my bag.

The sound quality is fairly good. However along with all the rest of the reviews, the bass is not very strong. I am also not really into pumping the bass up, but I like a little in my electronica/dance music. It is adequate but I'd like more. Considering that they have only 13.5 mm drivers, it's to be expected. I would advise at least 30mm drivers for you bass people which you won't find in these "in-ear" headphones.

So if you looking for an inexpensive headphones and you don't wear glasses or want big bass, then these are great. Otherwise Sony has tons of other headphones that could fit your needs.

Good value for the price w/ Above Avg quality
A LITTLE BACKGROUND:
These are the third set of headphones that I have purchased in 4 years. I also have earbuds from Sony with "mega Bass" capability, and another pair of ear-huggers from Sharp. I use my Sony MDR-J10s for the gym and when I go jogging. I use an RCA MP3 player with DSP capability (bass inducer)

PROS:
-Cheaper than other versions of ear-huggers
-Variable colors allow personalization
-Sound quality is not as 'tinny' (compared to my pair by Sharp), but this might be dependent on the device you use. Not as good as 'megaBass', but if you're outdoors it's good enough.
-The ear 'hooks' are strong/durable enough to withstand small tugs to the headset.

CONS:
-Like most ear-huggers they constantly get tangled. I've yet to see a set withi a good storage case.
-Non-gripping, smooth plastic of the 'huggers' don't always cling to your ear.
-For people with small ears, there is no guarantee they will fit.

OVERALL:
Don't expect superb sound since Sony doesn't claim any 'megaBass' improvement. Ear huggers are designed for active people, but don't think they'll stay in your ears if you pull really hard! They're cheap, and work for my activities. If they break, just buy another (or the better ones that come out in the future).

These don't work for me!
Be careful with this product! The headphones are not bad quality, and though these headphones do provide some degree of noise reduction, there are some serious drawbacks -- at least for me. These include: (1) When you engage the noise reduction, noise is reduced, but so is the frequency range of your recording! (2) Either the headphones are relatively insensitive or there is an insertion loss even with noise reduction switched out. I assume the manufacturer assumes you'll be listening to heavy metal from a powerful amplifier. Well, I'm listening to classical through a flea-power anplifier. With ordinary headphones/earbuds, things are "adequate". With the Maxell, the volume is inadequate. And (3), with noise reduction switched in, the volume is even more inadequate. For my use, unusable. I wouldn't buy these again.

Good value but you get what you pay for
I have now used these headphones on a few flights and have found the following:

1. They help versus not using them, i.e. they make a difference
2. Battery life is very good
3. Price is great!
4. They are *not* very comfortable. My ears hurt after wearing them for the whole flight (longer than 5 hours)

Overall, if you don't want to spend a lot of money on such gadgets, get this one. If you want the best, get the Bose one!

Amazing technologi, less good comfort....
These relatively inexpensive noice-cancelling headphones really does its job well, remarkable how it reduces the cabin noice on a Boing 747 by at least 50%. It's actually possible with these to follow a movie being shown and understand all that's being said without too much concentration. As for the sound quality, they're probable nothing fancy but they produce a good deal more bass than your standard in-flight headset. My only problem with these is the comfort issue. After 1-2 hour of wearing my ears gets red/annoyed. This is because they rest on the ear itself where I would've preferred an over-the-ear solution. I am happy I got them however, great value for the money, the Sony solution is way WAY more expensive and I just need them for an occational movie in flight.

Covers all basic needs
If you're looking for a cheap alternative then Mojo is the right choice. I was looking for a MP3 player that was light and small and I didn't want to spend too much on it since I'm hoping to get an iPod soon. All other alternatives I had seen were too expensive to be worthwhile or didn't have a screen. How can you buy an MP3 player in which you don't know what's playing??!!?? this small player has an incredible amount of information, it's incredibly small, includes interesting functions and works with drag and drop like a breeze. Battery life is 12 hours as promised. The cons are basically the headphones (better use your own) and I found the maximun volume a bit low. All in all, it's definetly an excellent choice (you can use it as a pen drive if you get tired of the MP3 functions)

one of the best
This can play MP3 files at different bit rates. If you rip in 64kbps you can fit almost 4 hours of music. I'm not sure if WMA is a good format, but this one is compatable with that. It's really light! You don't feel it's there.

This is my 2nd flash player. My 1st one (digltal way) was very bad and lasted just 2 months. I just had this for more than 2 months so woopi! it's already outlasting the 1st one.

Gripe: why is this only USB 1? it takes a long time to copy all the music. Should be USB 2!

Cheap and fun, but no FM
Ok I wasn't expectin FM on this since this model is inexpensive. It has good sound to boot, and the orange color does attract attention. I just wish it had USB 2 not the older, slower USB 1 technology. Otehrwise I'm a happy user.

bought 12 units, its saving each of us at least 1/2 hour/da
About a year ago 5 sales, 2 purchasing, and 3 traffic staff plus IT/accounting switched to these units. Installation is simple, batteries have held up good. We live on the phone. It's freed us from our desks without missing calls. Phone time is much more productive. We pull and send the documents to our customers while they are still on the phone. We can even "walk" them through departments, ask questions, getting answers right then and there. Remember to use the mute button if you do not want the caller to hear what other people are saying to you! I took a customer that called in through the warehouse describing the package labels to him over the phone. I take the dog for a walk and still get my calls. Reception is poor 80 feet from the base unit in a concrete building. I can't wait for the next generation -2,400 mhz systems, it will enable us to take a call anywhere in the facility.

Excellent Headset, Saved My Neck (Literally)
I have had this headset for over 3 months now and I am extremely pleased with it. The clarity is a perfect 10 -- people that I am talking to cannot tell whether I am on the regular phone or the CS10.

I have used the original Hello Direct cordless headset for a few years. People often complained that they couldn't hear me well and asked me to speak louder. I often ended up switching to the regular phone.

So I retired that headset and bought a GN Netcom 9020D. The clarity was as good as the CS10, but I would hear an echo of myself. I called Hello Direct and bought another 4-line telephone that they claimed was compatible, but the echo remained.

So I finally bought the CS10. I almost did not because of some of the negative reviews here on Amazon.com, especially in regards to Plantronics' service should something go wrong, but pain was starting to creap back into my neck and I had little choice but to at least try. I have been very pleased with this headset and I highly recommend it. Setup was far more straightforward than with the earlier headsets that I owned: I didn't have to change any of the default switch settings.

There is, of course, room for improvement. One thing that I always liked about the Hello Direct and the GN Netcom headsets was that the transmitter was mounted on the headset itself. I wish Plantronics would revise the CS10 to make the headset an all-in-one unit instead of having the transmitter as a separate unit linked with a cord. Or at least include a holder or holster where one can tuck away the transmitter (this should not be a separate purchase, IMHO).

It work as advertised!
I home office and needed the ability to write orders, check files etc. while talking with clients. The CS-10 works extremely well and the callers have no idea I am using a headset. The incoming and outgoing quality is great! I would recommend the phone lifter for remote answering.

I tried two other cheaper products that were poor quality and either sounded like I was talking into a bucket or were "distant" sounding.

This was the best price anywhere ... although it has increased in price recently.

Great sound BUT hard to fit BUT good solution
Ok, I HAD to agree with most reviews of these earbuds. They sound awesome but getting them to fit right was not easy. Either you shove them in so they stay in place - and then they start to hurt OR place them softly in and they fall out too easily. SOLUTION: As another reviewer mentioned you can get the Jabra Eargels and place over the earbuds and suddenly you have almost custom-fitted buds that sound like the $100+ kind... [They] will make your Phillips earbuds way more comfortable, they will stay in place and have an added bass boost to the sound. If Phillips included the gels or something similar, these headphones would get 5 stars.

Sound great. Fit well. Smart storage solution.
For the money, these are the best in-ear headphones available. They sound better and are way more comfortable than the standard iPod earphones. The $39.99 Apple In-ear headphones sound slightly better, but even with the three different sized ear pieces, they never stayed in, even while you're sittting at your desk.<br /> <br /> One of the best features about these earbuds is the storage case. The simple, elegant "rubber donut" keeps everything together nicely and there's no worry about a plastic case breaking while in your bag or unweildy wires to untangle. <br /> <br /> If you're looking for the best on-the-go iPod sound, these are your best bet.

excellent, finally buds that work!
These are the first earbuds that actually sound good AND fit/stay put in my ear! Other earbuds always fell out and made my ears hurt. I notice some people are having trouble with the fit, maybe Phillips or someone else will get a clue and start making 'sized' buds? Otherwise, I love them and they sound incredible. I also like the asymetric design to keep the cord more out of your way, I've always had trouble with that.

My IROCK and I are still trying to get along...
Recieved mine last year for Christmas, and at first was completely turned off by the interface of the software that came with it. The software also stopped working somewhere in the middle of the year. I could not place songs on my irock, nor could I remove songs, but the software would connect and let me see the songs. Baffeling really!

However, with a little tinkering I got it working again, and truthfully I don't know what the problem was or how it was fixed in the end. All I know is that the player itself is a handy little gadget, it's affordable, isn't too hard to figure out and works very well. I am happy with the player! I should also note that my niece has the same exact player and has had the same exact problems with the software, but hers works now too.

The software on the other hand... well I'm still TRYING to get along with it. It seems to get buggy everynow and again and can be a pain, but like everything, you have to learn it and learn what works and what doesn't work.

So, in the end, I would recommend this product to anyone looking for an affordable mp3 player that gets the job done.

    :)

    Excellent mp3 for the price
Not sure the issue some folks have with this unit. I have two of the 128mb internal memory versions along with 128mb viking smc and they work fine. If you want to use a smc card from another gizmo you may have to use the irock wipe utility (different than the format utility) and vice versa. Only drawback is the battery life - definitely get a rechargeable setup.
