worth the money
I used this product in Thailand & Singapore and I think it's worth it. It allows you to move around freely in crowded places without the akwardness of having to keep bringing up the walkie to your mouth. It's great if you have to walk in a quite place like a conference hall or hotel restaurant and don't want the whole room to look at you when you're buzzed. I don't think not having the VOX matters so much ... I wouldn't want my other party to hear every word I say if the mike is clipped to my collar and I happen to have a conversation with another person face-to-face.

Not bad
I am glad I bought the earbud with PTT mic. I bought the thing two weeks ago and took it on vacation with me last week. The place it came in most handy was at this huge outlet mall in destin where I communicated with family members who were using the new motorola Talkabout 5100's. Obviously, this accessory allowed me to leave my Distance Radio secured to my belt with the Motorola brand pouch/holster I have, and I did not have to remove the radio to talk. This was a humongous advantage over having to keep removing the radio from my belt to speak, then re-attaching it only to find that the person's reply required me to speak again. Another way this thing is advantageous is that if you are in crowded stores with a lot of people (like I was) or in some other place with noise, you can hear transmissions that you recieve easily, and it is easy to respond immediately. If the radio is on your belt, there is always a chance that you may not take notice of your friend who is trying to transmit to you if you are in a noisy place and your attention is diverted. Also, when using this accessory, you do not attract the attention of other people, or disturb them, because the sound is just in the little speaker in your ear (which is comfortable and padded as far as I am concerned). And, you do not have to hold your radio up in front of other people while talking/transmitting. The question is this--what is more conspicuous, having your built-in radio loudspeaker going for all to hear and holding up a radio in front of your face to talk, or walking around in public with this wire and microphone assembly coming out of the neck of your shirt (or just hanging in front of your clothes) and running up to your ear. Don't get me wrong, it doesn't look like a device for a hearing disablilty at all. One girl asked me if I was "listening to a game." Remember that I only used this accessory two diferent times. (The first was while riding a bike for one hour. I did not really get to use it then, but it did not fall out of my ear at all.) The second time I used it was at the outlet mall for two and a half hours--walking around. It never fell out there, either. I never used it while running to see if it would stay in.

Excelent
I found this accesory for my talkabouts excelent. I use them for my motorcycle under my helmet, and keep in touch with my partners. Excelent, except for the price.

Best for Quiet Environments
In my experience, too, the VOX feature of this headset/FRS radio is too sensitive for use in amusement parks, and the like. As noted by other reviewers, hiking and cycling may be the activities best suited for this product . . . but don't position the MIC too close to your mouth when using VOX.

Limited
The headset is useful and seems a good deal compared to the price of the earbud with microphone, but the bulkiness somewhat defeats the purpose of the compact radio. The highest sensitivity setting on the VOX is too low for quiet environments; it's better to use the PTT mode at those times. The PTT works better either way, because there's a slight delay before the VOX circuitry kicks in and begins transmitting. Generally the VOX is handiest in those situations where it's really necessary; i.e. no hands available to hit the button. Note also that if the transmit button is accidentally depressed, it reverts to PTT mode and the radio needs to be powered off and on again to reset to VOX mode. The earbud without microphone is the most cost effective way to use the radio; it allows for private conversation and allows the monitoring of conversations without holding the radio up to the ear, while giving best audio quality by using the built in microphone. Either earbud can be considered a necessity, while the headset is for more limited use applications.

Recommended accessory for FRS radios
This is very good headset, sound quality is good. The headband is adjustable and very confortable. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because it doesn't do VOX with my FR50s (because the FR50 doesn't have VOX capability). Price is reasonable too. What more can I say about a simple headset?

Fickle tuning, sounds pretty good when signal is perfect
I live in a large NYC apt. building so I'm sure there is a lot more electronic interference than a house in the suburbs would have. But I find that it's difficult to tune precisely, and as I move around (never more than 50' from the base) I hear clipping, i.e., quick interruptions in the music. When I lean my head back on the couch, which is against a wall, I also get some interference. I'd compare the whole experience with listening to a fairly weak radio broadcast on a portable radio. Definitely not ideal.

The velvety ear cups don't make my ears too hot as another reviewer complained, but I can understand how it might bother some people in this way. The headset is a bit heavy and unbalanced. I am always sort of subconsciously adjusting them on my head.

Maybe these are prices to pay to have wireless, which is what I needed. Just know what you're in for: if you're looking for a clean signal, get a wired headset.

As for sound, when the signal is clear it's pretty good. Not fantastic (a bit weak on the low frequencies, I think), but certainly sufficient.

Things you need to know : rs-30,rs-40,rs-60
Plus sides: Good sound quality (Not excellent but above average)
Easy to use;comes with 2 batteries+charger
lightweight
Surround sound option
Earcups swivel to fit, very flexible

Downsides: #1) The material, velvet-like is *extremely* warm... if you live in alaska, or antarctica you'll love these. This alone is reason enough not to buy them. (I'm considering using these as earmuffs. After a while they may get sweaty too.

#2) If you place too close to electrical appliances, especially tvs and computers really shortens the range before they start screwing up, but if the transmitter is isolated from anything else, it should work fine.

Range is exaggerated. no way it can go more than 100 feet without disruption in metro areas.

My advice: Get something with more comfortable material if you do go wireless. Not worth this price.

Great gift
My brother in law got me a set of these and I think they're one of the best accessories I've ever used. Sound quality is outstanding, I hear no static even 2 floors down when I'm doing laundry, and the extra battery charges in the base so you can quickly swap out if you run out of juice. Comfortable as heck. I don't know why the other person said they weren't tight enough, unless he had a really small head. I think the tension is perfect, but I'm a 6'2" American guy so your mileage may vary.

usable, but overpriced
This type of player is absolute must for me, as I put a lot of miles on my bike on weekends. I want music to last for hours and don't want any wires. I used Now Evolution 32MB similar to this player, loved it with exception of limited storage. I tried to purchase Now Evolution NP256, but couldn't find it anywhere! Mojo 1 is the only other option available, which I was reluctant to go for, but had no choice. I was disappointed, when after several attempts to copy my MP3 file directly to internal memory, I realized that I have to use MoodLogic software (supplied) to transfer files, which encrypts them. What a hastle!
External memory is OK for direct coping.

dashed hopes
I had such high hopes but this baby is going back. It is a very tempting item for the obvious reasons but here is the lowdown:

- As headphones go, it is heavy, *very* uncomfortable and poorly built.
- The entire product screams " I was built in China!"; plastic has rough edges, the controls are clunky (you move 5 notches if you only want to move one, etc.)
- the transfer software only works for 100 songs and it's three-o for the "full" product; free plug-in did not recognize the player after 45 minutes. I was unable to transfer files and I write software for a living.

-- As I said, the headphone aren't comfortable (and I love back-of-the-head ones in general) so unless you'd buy a pair of nice lambskin gloves that are two sizes small just because they look nice...

Stay away, you have been warned.

not bad
The little unit works pretty well.

A couple of things they don't tell you...

1. Although the device looks like a standard usb storage device when connected via the USB, you apparently cannot copy mp3 files directly to the device's memory. They have to be "encrypted" using the supplied cheezy moodlogic software. Music files cannot apparently be copied from the device to your PC. Big brother again I guess. This does not seem to hold true with the mmc/sd card slot.

2. For decent FM reception you must use a small 2.5" supplied FM antenna that is screwed into a threaded slot on the left earpiece. On my unit it's in a matching grey color and stays reasonably flush in the direction of the headband.

The unit shoulds good and is indeed quite wirefree. Records FM to internal memory, which is a neat feature.

Pretty good, but not perfect.
The bass on these headphones are actually quite good except that you have to push them in the ears so that the acoustic plus feature seals up the ear canal. If the headphones are not inserted properly there won't be much bass at all. The overall sound quality is pretty good, but I think the high end portable sony headphones have a better upper end clarity. The only real problem with the headphones is that they can become quite uncomfortable because they create some pressure within the ear canal when the acoustic plus seals it up. However at least you can wear glasses with these things because the swoops band goes under the ears and not over so that is a plus.

good headphones
Even though i dont own these headphones, like all other Aiwa products, these should be just as good. These specific set of headphones are really good if you own an Aiwa cd player. If you own a cd player from sony, they will not work as great as they would on an Aiwa cd player. Aiwa says their products have good bass, well they do, but if you have another brand cd player, its not worth getting. For instance, if you have a sony cd player, they are great, but with these headphones, you wont be toatally satisfied with it because sony cd players dont give enought bass with any type of headphones that you use. And if you want these heaphones for loud music and lots of bass, be sure to own an Aiwa cd player because they are ment to be used with other Aiwa products and not with other companys products even though they are compatible, its just how Aiwa makes their products. And i know this beacause i have an Aiwa cd player with Aiwa headphones and i have tryied to mix brands of cd players and headphones and it does not work too well.

Decent
I bought these headphones to work out with. I wanted a pair of headphones that were neckband headphones and without any foam (so they wouldn't get sweaty).

These headphones fit my criteria as well as having a good enough sound for my purposes. I found the sound adequate. The dynamic range didn't seem as good as some other headphones I own. I would use them for working out, but for general purpose I prefer other headphones.

Just bought my third one of these
This headset is comfortable and works well though it just doesn't last long. It's the only headset that works with my home phone so I keep buying them but they only last about six months.

    Works well
This is one of the few headsets that reliably works with a number of different phone, and produces clear sound for both you and the person on the other end of the line. We've tried a number of others that don't work nearly as well. It's comfortable enough to wear for long conversation.

In our house they hold up for about a year or two of constant use before they fail (usually the cord wears out).

    Great product
This product is a nice headset that did fit nicely on my ear (lucky fit I guess) and was easy to work with. It is compact and feels quite natural for me. Not to mention it is designed to work on either ear so in the middle of a conversation you can just change ears.

      BAD PRODUCT!
Don't waste your money, not only do these headphones look bad when you put them on, they are not made to fit and adult head. The flashing lights are annoying and they keep turning on by accident. Worst of all is the quality, I did not have mine for more that a month after they were already starting to sound bad. After 9 weeks I finally put them in the garbage where they belong because the sound quality had deteriorated too much and sound was only coming out of the right side.

      These are sooo cool!
These are awsome...but like everyone else has been saying there are a couple of problems. They are a bit uncomfortable...but you DO get used to them...the lights do sometimes turn on because the button accidentally gets pushed but they automatically turn off. The little ummmm plug thingie doesn't fit right in my CD player either i have to move it around sometimes. Also I've only had mine since Christmas and they broke on the end where it says the model name..so i can't use them anymore..I used them everyday tho..But I am the only person who has these at my entire school! Everyone loves them! I'll walk down the hall and everyone stops and is like "WOW! Where'd you get those way cool headphones" luckily I got mine for a gift so I just say "I donno I got them for Christmas." but my parents actually got these from a store...hmmm.....well they are great....just don't put them in the bottom of your backpack or they'll break next time you try to put them on...:-) LOVE EM!

good for the price, but a few flaws
i ordered these a week and a half ago and recently received them, and i have to say that i am satisfied for the ... price for which i purchased these headphones. however, the LB1S headphones look like they are grey here, but actually end up being more bluish tinted. also, they feel a little awkward at first and a bit uncomfortable, but after a little while, i guess i will adjust. they are lightweight, but they are also a little flimsy and wobbly. but i am very satisfied. they look cool and i am the first kid on the block to get them, becuase amazon.com is the only place i have ever seen them. they are stylish and just downright cool. so buy them, kids, today!

      broke after 2 month
I've had this headset for a little over two months and the ear piece came off on the right side and will not snap into place anymore so they are going in the garbage! Very very cheaply built! The sound quality is decent but I expected them to last me at least a year. Oh, one more thing, the fit of this headset is very loose unless you have a very big head they are constantly falling down or need adjusting. At $5.99 these would be a good buy! Don't waste your money on this cheaply built headset!

does not work well for voice recognition.
This headset is not very comfortable it tends to fall off easily and if you need to use it for voice recognition it will not work very well. The stereo sound quality is good. The on off switch on the cord does not work all the time. If your looking for quality these are not the item!

      nice item
despite the bad reviews, this headset is a great one. i use it to play cs and it works just fine. sure it breaks easily but not unless you don't take good care of it. i take good care of my stuff and my headset has been with me for 6 months and it still works fine to this day. don't buy it if u are going to break it tho. its not for breaking :)
