Battery Operated? Not Practical
Major complaint - this product should have an A/C adapter, but does not. It uses two AA batteries, which need to be replaced every two days. This is simply not a practical design. Since the sound quality is good with fresh batteries, I would stick with Plantronics, but I would go up the model line until I got one with a direct power source A/C adapter.

Not good for Call Center environments
The headset works fine, unless you're in a call center or other such environment where you have other people "feeding" you information on what to say while on the telephone.

I was on with a client who decided to ask some difficult questions. My supervisor happened to be monitoring the conversation and proceeded to "feed" me what to say to handle these questions. It turns out that the client has heard EVERYTHING that my supervisor was saying. Of course, I lost the deal. I come to find out later that this headset (as is the case with most cheaper headsets) will allow ALL communication through to ALL of the parties involved.

So if you're in a situation where people MAY feed you information while you're on the phone, DO NOT BUY THIS HEADSET or other cheap versions. Other than this incident, it works fine -- good quality sound etc...

Good set for the price
Overall for not having to buy an amplifier, this set works really good. After seeing mine, our clerk bought one too. Our office has a cheap AT&T multi-line phone system. I bought two others before I found this one that works. At one point,I thought I had a problem with the microphone but I just needed to change the batteries. I did find this product for a cheaper price at another site, but I trust buying from Amazon. They are accurate, and prompt.

Couldn't get one that worked!
I received this CD player in February. It quit working 2 weeks later. I sent it back for repair to efactoryoutlet.us, spending $4.00 for shipping. I received the same unit back and it worked for 2 weeks and quit! I sent it back (another $4) and requested a replacement rather than a repair. I received a new? unit (it had a different serial number) and it wouldn't work right out of the box! I shared my troubles with Amazon and they credited back full price for the defective unit and gave me a promotional credit to help make up the additional $8 shipping costs! efactory.us wanted the defective unit back, but was unwilling to pony up the shipping!
I am pleased with Amazon, but forget efo and Jensen! During this frustrating process, I went and bought a GPX portable CD player at a local Circuit City for $13 and I am very happy with that one and happy with Amazon for responding so generously to my difficulties!

??
Piece of junk. Have returned it twice for repair and still doesn't work and can't get my money back after 30 days!

You Get What You Pay For
It worked (not very well) for a month and 3 days. It now consistently displays "No Disc," regardless of what disc is in it. Don't buy it.

Quality control is questionable....
This is a very basic and functional CD player, if it works.... The shock protection, once you turn it on, is not bad for most activities. However, the quality control in the manufacturing process is highly suspect. I bought two of them as presents for my nieces. One of the players didn't work - when I insert a CD and hit the play button, it displayed "no disc." I returned it for a brand new replacement, which also had the same problem. So I return it again and I finally got one that works. The customer service at Amazon is really good, but the manufacturer of this player needs to improve quality control so we don't have so many defective "new" players.

Save your Money Folks!!
Well, I bought this cd player about a year ago and I have had to stop myself several times from throwing it out my car window when I was travelling at high speeds. I've had it for a year and it still plays sometimes, and if that's what you're looking for then great. However, there are quite a few things that really bother me about this product. Sometimes it utilizes the repeat track function for no reason and the only way to reset it is to turn it off and on several times. It also didn't do well in the durability aspect. I consider myself a careful and conservative consumer, I treat my belongings with a lot of care, but this cd player looks like it has been through WW3 and back. The cover hardly closes all the way, the anti-shock barely starts up, much less works. I can't even play most of the cds I own,it will only read the very very new ones that I have, and forget cds that were burned from a cd-rw. I bought this product with the car kit, which by now I have had to replace, both the tape and the adaptor stopped working. If this cd player went for $20 bucks I could understand, but with so many other cd players on the market that are the same price and are better quality, I wouldn't advise anyone to waste their money. I personally wish I had saved my money and bought something higher quality, but I suppose that's what you get if you buy something from an almost unknown company.

Great little player!
I have had this cd player for a year and a half with no problems. It even plays my CD-Rs with ease. The 20 second anti- shock is more than adequate for me. I recommend this CD player!

Save you Money
I know these are inexpensive and all but they really are that good but i am picky about sound quality and comfort. These are not good in any of the two. I was hoping for better from sennheiser.. I got these free with my apple ipod. The earphones that come with the ipod from apple are awesome i would throw these free ones away.

good ear buds for work
I always get this model for work, they are cheap which is good because I wear them out and lose them. I find them to be very comfortable-I wear them all day 5 days a week. You can't go wrong for the price.

Worth 4 times the price
The sound is unbelievable asndf the fit just depends on your ear. For me they fit ok, for my wife, they fit perfectly.

You get what you pay for
This was by far the worst headset I have ever used. The battery would constantly die, and would take 6-8 hours to charge. I could figure I would have use of the headset every two days.

Nice functionality but sound quality and coverage is poor
This unit was easy to connect to our two line phone and configure for compatibility with the phone.

But, its sound quality was poor. People I was speaking with complained of lots of static during the call.

Another problem with this product is that its performance is sensitive to the location of the headset with respect to the base unit. When I was 20 feet from the base unit, a motion of 4 or 5 inches meant the difference between a *VERY* static connection and a clear connection.

Overall, we did not like this product and wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Great deal for the price
Considering similar products from Plantronics are many times the price, this is a great deal if you want a starter headset. I admit I was ready to toss mine after having problems with the microphone cutting out during conversations, but I finally figured out I had to turn up the microphone volume using the tiny control on the left side of the unit. It's been working consistently since. The factory must set this control to 0, resulting in bad "out-of-box" experiences for many people.

Easy to switch from computer to phone connection sound by picking up the phone handset and placing it on the pad. Also very handy for a cubicle environment when you want to listen to online media without bothering your neighbor. I got the microphone to work with the PC by not following the color codings on the cable (I plugged the blue cable connector into the orange microphone input on the PC instead of the line in).

So, a couple of gotchas that you might not encounter if you read the manual first (can't find it anymore) but the real value here is the price. Good starter system for a cubicle worker.

this should be sold by Toys R Us
Sleek design, nice colors, practical mute button and in-line volume control as well as two jacks. But I plugged this thing into my laptop and even with all volume controls maxed out, I could hear someone humming in the room. Where is all that powerful sound they were braggin' about ? Maybe that's just me. The other flagrant thing is that the rigid behind-the-head thing is way too wide for me eventhough I have a big head. Hence the headset will slide to rest on the back of your neck with the microphone poiting to the ceiling. Gets on my nerves.

    Sound good / Design bad
This headset has really good sound on the mic and also on the headset. But it's very uncomfortable to use. It's always slipping because the headset is not adjustable. I returned mine for a .90 Plantronics model.

    Great Headset,
I got this headset for Chrsitmas, and I have not been dissapointed.
I use this headset for gaming, because I play counter-strike. I must say that the behind-the-head design is very comfy, even though
I have a smaller head. I have had this headset for over three months, adn I must say that they are not damaged at all. Just try to avoid crushing the headset! In my experiance, the microphone works very well, and the sound is great. This product is a great bang for your buck!
I give this product 4 stars because of one flaw.. If you bump the mute control where the volume is, it is likely that the volume will change drastically by getting caught on your chair. This has happened many times in my experiance, but overall I highly recommend this headset, and I think that it is well worth the price.

It's Ok, but could be better!
I got this radio/cassette player as a gift and I mostly use it for listening to books that have been recorded on to audio cassettes and I have had no problems with it other then the time when I was sitting by the pool on a hot summer day listening to music and the heat and the suntan lotion took some of the finish off of the radio/tape player and made a yucky mess but I really have no major complaints other then that it lacks some features, it doesn't have auto reverse and it only has a fast forward button and doesn't have a rewind button which I think is a weird feature not to have, if you are lisitening to music or an audio book and want to listen to your favorite song again or repeat something you missed in the audio book you have to flip the tape over and fast forward that side then flip it back over to check if you have gotten back to the song or the part of the audio book you want to listen too again and that is frustrating but at least it's a good well known brand name and doesn't eat tapes like the cheapy cassette player I got as a gift a number of years ago that ruined both my Les Miserables Broadway and London Cast recording cassette tapes so I give this 3 stars because though it's ok it definitely could be better!

    Worth More than the price...
I have no words to describe it... It is GREAT and WORKS FINE... sound too is good.... Worth more than the price...

    Great price Great product
I was a bit pessimistic when I purchased it BUT NOW I WILL SURELY BUY ANOTHER 2 For more of my friends .... It is good May be one the other person got was a bad one.... Great clarity....

    Does NOT cancel noise.
The Coby CV190 barely cancels out any noise at all. I checked it in front of my refrigerator, dish washer and took it on a long flight and watched a movie with it. I got it for cheap, but I will return it.

The package (pouch, 2-pin plug, battery) is a nice touch, but what good is it if it does not work.

    Not Active NC
Just a note that the CV-190 is not an "active noise cancelling" headphone. There are no electronics to reduce ambient noise, just the physical mass of the headphones themselves.

Yes, you could spurge on the Philips HN100
ASIN: B0000UUXB6 (requires one AAA battery) (made in Red China)
or the even more expensive (and LESS padded) Sennheiser HDC451
    ASIN: B00005TSKJ (requires two AA batteries) (made in Germany);
nevertheless, you could instead order one or two Coby CV190 and
still have money left over that you would not have when buying
either the HN100 or the HDC451.
Admittedly, the Coby HAS to have been made in a sweatshop to be
available at such a low retail cost... Fuggedabout a UNION shop.

I rated the Coby only 4 stars rather than the possible 5 because
the Philips (model HDC451, ASIN: B0000UUXB6) is better-built and
is affordable (4x the cost, though). To the Philips I would give
five stars (never mind that the country of origin, China, has a
track record of abysmal "human rights").

The Sennheiser box (cardboard outside the blister packaging) has
a claim or boast that their HDC451 has modular or replaceable
parts; nevertheless, since theirs costs OVER 100 smackers, and
since their DESIGN (no plush, deep, cushioned earpads, just foam)
sucks (except for the electronic circuitry, which surpasses ALL
other brands w/o exception), there is no point in initially se-
lecting the HDC451 over either the HN100 or the reviewed CV190.
By the way, I went to the Sennheiser website, and they haven't a
second Active Noise Cancelling headphone to offer those who want
their electronics but with a really thick doughnut ear cushion.

Hope this info helps; vote your feedback, please.

Agreed: horrible product DO NOT BUY!!
Unfortunately, I disregarded the pervious reviewer and purchased this product anyway. It is very noisy (heavy hissing)--totally unacceptable. I'm highly disappointed in Koss.

      Hiss is more than slight
Granted the product is very cheap, but I decided to try it out. It is pretty noisy, about like a old cassette tape with no dolby. If you listen to rock and pop, you probably won't notice it that much. The 3 eq bands do what they should and help warm up the the smaller ear buds and phones.

Use This to Improve Sound of Poor Recordings or Broadcasts
I disagree with two of the people who have nothing good to say about this equalizer, and understand that they may be expecting it to match the performance of extremely high quality audio equipment -- which won't need it anyway.

This equalizer is extremely useful if you are trying to listen to -- say -- tapes of old time radio, shortwave broadcasts, or noisy AM signals. You can reduce harshness, improve bass response, and reduce noise effects.

However, it does have some limitations, related to its low price. At $20 retail price, such a helpful and flexible gadget will not have perfect audio performance, and it doesn't. There is a SLIGHT hiss audible at all times, apparently intrinsic in the audio chip used for the headphone amp. The hiss is introduced after the volume control; it's there all the time. Depending on the input voltage of the device to which it's connected, the hiss can be as loud as -30 dB, or as soft as -50 dB or lower; and it is predominantly a very bright hissing. So extremely efficient, bright headphones may exaggerate it. I hope Koss improves this device in a future model; but for low fidelity source material, and with phones that are not extremely bright, the hiss introduced by this device is MUCH, much lower than the hiss intrinsic in a tape, radio broadcast, or old recording and will quickly be ignored. If, however, you are hooking this to a CD player to listen with excellent phones to wideband digital recordings, you'll notice the hiss -- and be annoyed, depending on your sensibilities.

I am glad I purchased one. My intended use was to listen to cassettes of old time radio shows. Many of the commercial tapes are not well corrected and sound extremely harsh and thin; this equalizer fixes that quite nicely. The bands are well chosen to have an aural effect where poor recordings have flaws.

For background: I am a retired audio engineer with three decades in broadcasting and recording, and an enthusiast of OTR and recordings of old classic performances of music from the fifties back to the twenties, many of which NEED help that this equalizer can provide.

Only good if you don't care what the other person is saying
I use this phone at work. I have been looking for a replacement. The features are nice and the headset holder is nice to have, but it has one terrible flaw - the clarity is non-existent! It sounds like the person on the other end is talking through a pillow. Turning up the volume doesn't help, either, it only amplifies the fuzz. We have another, older Plantronics phone that has much better sound quality, so maybe we just got a faulty one. I wouldn't risk it, though.

      Great Performer!
I needed a phone for a home office. This phone was recommended and I bought it through an Amazon affiliated merchant. It is my 1st handsfree phone and I love the convenience of it! No more neck aches. Sound quality is as good or better than my cordless phone and no interference so far from any of the other equipment in the office. Small size base, comfortable headset. I would change 2 things - the MUTE button is right above the ON/OFF button and could cause an embarrassing hangup. The other is a longer headset cord. It appears to be about three feet long. Otherwise very nice!

      great quality!
This is the second model of this phone I have purchased - I'm a repeat buyer because the first one worked out so well. Great, clear sound quality, and a comfortable headset. I prefer a corded phone to cordless for the security factor, and because in a power outage a cordless phone is not operable. If you want a corded phone with a headset, this is the one!
