flimsy
If you are a traveller, I would not recommend these headphones. The brackets which hold the cups have broken three times in different places in as many trips.

Mediocre sound quality, too tight
The Philips SBC HN100 noise cancellation headphones feature an active noise cancelling system. It supposedly senses ambient noise (e.g., humming or buzzing sounds) and emit a counter-wave to cancel out the noise. This sounds great in theory; in practice whether it works or not is not entirely clear to me. Luckily, you can turn off this feature and just use these as regular headphones with an inline volume control (but not amplification).

I bought the Philips because the noise cancellation part seems to work as well as the much more expensive Bose headphones. But after two days of use, I'm returning this because 1) sound quality is quite plain, with little in the bass range; 2) the headset is a bit too tight, especially because I wear glasses. The Bose headphones have better bass and are slightly more comfortable, esp. for long periods of listening.

Since the Bose offering is too expensive, my search for an affordable pair of noise-cancelling headphones resumes.

Can't say enough good things
Really, I should give these 5 stars but two things stop me.
1) I travel a lot (hence the noise cancellation head phones) and both slide adjusters have broken and now have tape around them. The good part, tape works just fine, the bad bart, well, duh!

2) The little button to turn them on is WAAAYYYY to easy to turn on. I had taken to placing the control unit in between the two headphones when collapsing them into the case, but that didn't even work. I finally had to resort to just removing the battery.

Other than that the sound is excellent (slight dullness in the higher frequencies) and the noise cancellation works just like it should (all constant annoying noises are cancelled out).

For the price I don't think there is a better deal.

    uncomfortable, mediocre noise reduction
Thought I had purchased a pretty good product, until I compared them to the Radio Shack 33-1218 Noise-Canceling Foldable Stereo Headphones.

I had used the Audiobahn 103NC for the summer months behind a profesessional lawn mower, and a couple of flights across the U.S. My head would get sore from wearing them, but there was a noise reduction.

I purchased the Radio Shack model for family members before a cross country flight. They are far more comfortable, and there is a significant noise reduction. Most of the jet engine noise disappears.

Save your money, avoid the Audiobahn 103NC.

    Stay away....
I picked up a pair of these because the price was right for what looked to be a decent pair of noise-canceling headphones. Unfortunately, they went back the next day. The sound was completely muddy...all bass with hardly any treble response at all. I tried them on several kinds of music (rock, jazz, classical) with the same results across the board. They were comfortable, but completely unlistenable.

    I LIKE THESE
I bought these headphones because they were not as bulky as others. I only wear my headphones at the gym. I have to note that my gym is below the catapults on an AIRCRAFT CARRIER (it's loud) these headphones when attached to my iriver , or ipod mp3 player drown out the noise , and i can't even hear the sound of the machine i am on. these are nice for the price , just make sure you use good batteries.

    Impossible to adjust headband
There is no way to adjust the headband, allowing the headset to slide down and off your head. If you move around at all you have to hold the headset in place. Sound quality (because of background hiss) is mediocre.

    Waste of $$!!
Bought these for a Christmas present for my boyfriend - the first time he used them they worked great...second time all you could hear was the conversations coming from our neighbor's cellphone. I have not used them since then - they are collecting dust on my entertainment center and I don't know what to do with them. I live in the Rocky Mountains and don't have a lot of neighbors - and like I said, they worked the first time I used them but sounded awful each time after.
Buy at your own risk! I would return them if I could...

    Overpriced and noisy
Too noisy to watch DVDs or listening to music, lot of static, mostly if you don't stand still like a statue. Very disappointing from Sony. Buy Koss, Sennheiser or Bose. Oh and the connection between the base and the headphones is crap.

Acoustic Research 900MHz Wireless Sterio Headphones AW771
I bought this wireless headphone AW771 in Dec. 03 at Circuit City. The first one was defective - On/OFF switch would not turn on the headphone. I exchanged a new one next day I bought it. It worked for 2 month. Then the on/off switch broke again. Now I could not turn on the headphone. Acoustic Research web site (WWW.Acoustic-Research.com) did not exit. I am not pleased this product at all.

Questionable quality guaranteed to raise the blood pressure!
I baught this headphone as a gift for someone and I can honestly say I was truly embarrased to give such a low quality gift. The minute everything was connected I tried to charge the headphones on the provided stand. The charge light would come on for a few seconds and then go back off. I would then move the headphone slightly and it would start to charge again for a few seconds. After looking at how the charger connects to the headphone I could clearly see what a horrible job the engineer who designed this product really did. I never did get them to charge for more than a few seconds at a time. I also can't see how a company can put out products like this and expect to stay in business for very long. I'm not surprised other people have had similar results. I am returning it today after I repackaged it with the same care AR spent on the design. You can bet I don't plan on buying from this manufacturer ever again, and I will probably not buy any more products from the company who sold it to me, either. You have to question thier corporate goals, too.

    I like them.
These headphones were an easy install. I was up and running in 15 minutes. I was able to mow my lawn and listen to music. I know that they have been some negative reviews about these headphones and not without just cause. The headphone sound good and I only get audio hiss once an awhile. The reason the headphones only got 4 stars from me is that they seem to be made of cheap material. The door that the batteries go in looks like it could break real easy. Of cause you do not need to open that door very often as these headphones have rechargeable batteries. You should also be advised not to drop these headphones as I said they seem to be susceptible to damage.
    Sound quality = 4
    Ease of installation = 5
    Quality of headphones = 3

it's cheap and you don't get what you paid for.
I was looking for speakers that i did not need an a/c adaptor for so that I could let other people hear my music and listen to it without being connected to the player by wires.

the pros:
-cheap
-very portable

the cons:
-too cheap
-volume roughly reaches voice level
-no bass (but what did you expect)
-poor sound quality (a didn't expect great sound quality, but no matter what volume i play at the sound has an echo sound like it's coming from within a tube or down a tunnel.

I opened them with a little hesitation thinking I'd only lose $10, but the minute i heard sound come from them i realized that was a quick $10 to drop. I wasn't looking for good speakers, but but i was hoping for passable ones.

    DONT BY THESE SPEAKERS!!!
DONT BY THESE SPEAKERS!!! I repeat DONT BY THESE SPEAKERS!!! They are passive which means they do not amplify the sound. They say good for walkmans, but you cant here them. Sound quality is OK. NO BASS! I bought these and I can hardly hear them when my walkman is on full power. This also waists ALOT of battery power. I conclude DONT BY THESE SPEAKERS!!!

You get what you pay for
I paid $11 for my set, thinking they might help free up some space on my computer desk - my old speakers were huge blocks, though similarly priced at $15, and I had started noticing considerable loss in quality after 5+ years of use.

However, it was evident moments after I had them running that they weren't cut out for any sort of "power" use. These things are definitely CAPABLE of good sound quality, but if you try to make them loud, they'll get distorted very quickly.

However, I'm not sure this is the fault of the speakers themselves so much as the quality of the input. I'm going to try getting a small amp and seeing what happens then. But as-is, don't expect any miracles.

Don't Buy, Don't Make My Mistake
As most people have pointed out, these headphones are unbearably uncomfortable, and I do mean COMPLETELY unbearable. I couldn't stand to wear them for any longer then 5 minutes. It's just awful that these were even allowed to be produced. The sound reduction (when I could focus on anything other then the pain) wasn't hardly noticeable at all. Plus, the cord was just short enough that you can almost always be sure you're going to have your head jerked or your C.D player pulled into the floor when you move. These headphones have really turned me off from ever wanting to buy anything made by Philips ever again. It's sad because they actually sounded pretty good. But, who cares what they sound like if you can't even wear them because they're so uncomfortable!!??

    Worst Headphones EVER!
These headphones are unbearably uncomfortable, and they barely do any for noise-cancelling. They pinch the tops of your ears, and the way they sit on your head, you can not sit back while wearing them. I tried to wear them on a plane, but had to lean forward to do so. The noise cancelling only works a tiny bit, as I could clearly hear ALL noise around me. They turned the airplane noise into slightly quieter airplane noise. Not worth it!

    okay - bad workmanship
I was impressed with the sound. The noise cancelling however, is really not worth the money (unless you live in NYC?) b/c I never even noticed it except when I was in the airport - where it did totally work, but that's it.
My biggest problem is that the design is fundamentally flawed: the noise cancelling controller in the middle of the cord is so heavy that the thing flies around - not to mention that the weight is causing the cord to come out.
The size is a bit big - I really miss my Philips "foldable" neckband-style headphones. Those were totally awsome, and lasted through 2 1/2 yrs of constant abuse from me. Philips should really try and fix the cord stress issue with foldable headphones, because those were really great.

      Piece of Gar-Bage
The phones have never worked right. I thought I had a defective transmitter and exchanged them for another and the thing still did not work. The green light came on for a second and them went off completely. No matter how many times I tried to re-connect the transmitter, it never worked right. There is NO technical support on the RCA website for these phones at all. Don't waste your time or your money.

      Can't be any worse
After 48 hours I still have not been able to get the right frequency to listen to anything. This is the worst possible thing I have ever bought.

      These headphones suck!
I first thought these headphones would be a dream, but not after I tried them. When I first recieved these "miracle" headphones, I discovered that the batteries in the headphones had to be first charged-what a pain it was to have to wait 24 hours before I could use these "wireless wonders." When the time came to use the headphones, I also heard a sharp whistling noise. My television didnt turn up high enough to block out the sound. Now, after 6 weeks of owning them, I'm ready to get rid of them.

      Surprisingly Horrible Product !
I am a Sony fanatic and almost every electronic device I own is a Sony brand. I am sadden to say that not only is this the worst Sony product I've ever bought, this is the worst of any IR or RF headphone unit that I've tried. Despite everyone's complaint about the clicking, I went ahead and bought the RF950 since I'm a Sony fan and I never had any problems with Sony before. After trying it out for a few hours, I knew it was a big mistake. The sound quality is the best of any IR or RF unit. But the clicking noise drives me insane. From 5 FT away, everytime I move my head or change position I would hear static, clicking or a buzzing sound. I tried changing channels on the RF unit which didn't help at all. I've even tried the same unit in another room and at my work standing 1 - 2 FT away with the same problem. Thinking that it's a defective product, I bought a new one at another store. No surprise, the same problem exist. I then called Sony to complain, they said that there has been no reports of such a problem. I pointed out that there are remarks all over the about the noise interference problem with the RF950. Sony was not able to help me and they never called me back even after repeated attempts to contact them. I went out and bought the Advent IR and Jensen IR as a test and they worked great. Granted neither product sounded as clean but atleast all the clicks were gone. Now I'm stuck with this lousy unit that works perfect if I had a neckbrace and if I can keep my body as stiff as a corpse.

      Suprisingly poor product from Sony
Bad news. They flop off my head if I look down at all, which of course I do because I bought these to be mobile, and mobile means moving around! They feel like they're barely on my head; not very secure.

      Sony MDR-RF950RK Not Very Impressive
I got these headphones for my office so I could listen to music while I worked so that I wouldn't have to drag a cord around. Unfortunately, the sound quality was not very good.

I have another pair of ear bud headphones that were about $14. They sound better than the cordless. There was a quiet hissing noise in the cordless phones that wasn't present with the cheap ear bud phones hooked up to the same source. And the dynamic range was muted on the cordless headphones; which is strange considering the nice dynamic range they advertise.

Also, there was a lot of popping and stuttering when I turned my head or walked around. This occured no matter what channel of the three I used or how much I tried to tune it.

      Pure Junk
Just like everyone else, they did not fit well in my ears and continually fell out. Not only that, they do nothing to block out external noises. I'm looking again for something better, and will not be afraid to spend a little extra money.

      These are REALLY bad earphones
I bought a pair of these and will never buy them again. The covers came off the earpieces and would NEVER GO BACK ON!!!! The sound quality was also very poor. Most of the time it seemed as if people around me could hear my music better than I could because the earpieces did not fit well into my ears. These are a complete waste of money!!

What do you want for $3.00
They are great Headphones for $3.00 stop whining, what do you expect fro $3.00, none of this style of headphone, at least in my opinion is comfortable, and none of this style of headphone is going to block the noise, you need a haedphone that covers your entire ear to block noise. If you need a cheap pair of earbuds buy these, they have a LIFETIME Warranty from the manufacturer, find another headphone that has a LIFETIME Warranty. Especially on a $3.00 pair of headphones.

Not even better than no speakers at all.
I'm building a system from scratch, and I'm on a budget. I got these speakers because I just need something simple for sound. I tried them out on a system that I have already. With these plugged in and the computer on, even if the computer is not in use, they randomly make a loud static sound (sounds just like someone is messing with the speaker plug where it goes into the computer). I checked all connections, disconnected and reconnected several times, to no avail. I also noticed that they sometimes caused distortion on my computer monitor - the monitor worked flawlessly both before having these speakers, and after getting rid of them. I would recommend not having ANY speakers before I recommend buying these.

        Horrible speakers...
I purchased these speakers for a new computer I was building for someone on a tight budget. When I got them home and tried them out, they were awful. If I turned the volume up at all, they distorted like crazy. I turned the volume level down on the computer sound mixer, but that didn't alleviate the problem. I played all kinds of music on them (from classical to rock), but the deciding factor that these speakers were awful was when I was playing James Taylor at a moderate volume level and they were still distorting badly. I immediately boxed them back up and took them back to the store and exchanged them for Cyber Acoustics' CA-3000 2.1 speakers (two satellites and a subwoofer). I highly recommend you spend the extra ten dollars on the CA-3000's and don't bother wasting your time on these speakers. If you really want only the two speakers, try any one of the Labtec Spin 50, 60, 70, or 75 speakers and you'll get better speakers in this price range. These may have just been a bad pair, but I highly doubt it. I may be a bit of an audiophile, but, whatever the price, I cannot justify purchasing speakers that are constantly distorting.

        Practically no bass
... no matter what you pay, these are cheap-sounding speakers. No bass sound whatsoever, even after tweaking my sound card settings. They sound basically like what comes in a cheap radio.

My coworker's PC has a pair of JBL Pro speakers on her PC; maybe I got spoiled listening to her speakers, but it's amazing how thin the Cyber Acoustics speakers sound compared to the JBL. I'm going to return these. Since I'm not going to be happy with "cheap" speakers I decided to pay a little more and get a different brand of speakers that are slightly higher priced (and better reviewed).

One good thing I can say, is there doesn't seem to be much distortion with the Cyber Acoustics. Also the headphone jack on the front is convenient. And as other reviews of C.A. speakers have pointed out, the blue light on the front IS cool!
