Poor quality
When I plug in my iPod to charge and listen at work, it sends electric shocks to my brain. and when im listening on the go the left and right sides fade in and out as the jack moves around, probably because its not goldplated.

Nice sound, very good bass, great headphones!
Noticed the difference from the first time I tried them. Bass and sound quality are just great! (I had to turn the bass boost off in my Zire 71). No complaints.

Durable, Decent Sound
Have it for 8 months. Ultra durable, flexible, sounds good. HAve run with it in the rain, sweat resistant (wont stop playing due to ear sweat).

However the sound is very weak, and does not sound good with my ipod... Sounds good with my high power PC audio but not with
portable devices.. But its ultra durable and good looking

There's better for the money
These are light and somewhat comfortable. As other reviewers have said they have VERY little bass. Lots of highs though, almost tinny sounding. If they performed better on the lows I'd rate them higher.

Great Christmas gift!
I got a pair of these, for more at Circuit City, and my wife finds them very suitable for her early morning work outs. Only problem is that the cord is not very long - only about 3 feet.

Good for the first month but broken wire afterwards
Good sound but very bad quality on the wire - wire broken from one of the headphones after 1 month. Dont buy it.

great sound cheap construction
I have gone thru 3 pairs in 2 years. The only reason i have bought so many is the sound quality is great but the wires on these headphones are cheap. All three pair failed because of wiring problems but i have not found a pair of headphones that sound as good as these.I am sure if i spend more money i could but i just us them for the gym.Philips just needs to work on the wiring problem.

best sounding headphones-ever!
These headphones should be industry standard-no specification
changes, these are designed flawlessly, from form-fit to sound
quality.I bought these phones 1.3 years ago locally and I was that
impressed with them and they almost rival my BOSE TRI-PORT
headphones!The plug,however,should be a little more thicker
so these can last longer.Overall, these sound perfect w/ my M.D.
MP3and my standard disc. These are very light on my head and
never a nusance to wear, and this is from someone who is picky about headphones! All props goes to PHILIPS.

Ok but I agree to much for what you get
I was expecting sound nirvana as I am a musician and am familar with the Shure brand. I tried every size ear peice and none realy fit. To get a full range sound I had to press them in my ear. If I moved around at all they alwasy came out. Way to much effort. Not worth (...)

Not Enough Bang for the Buck
I used these for about 3 weeks before returning them. If I didn't know how much I spent on them, I would say they are ok. There is something about spending a lot and expecting a lot. Well, find another pair of earphones, these have a decent sound, mid-range bass reflex and get uncomfortable after an hour of use. They are basically ear plugs with a small driver on the outside. If I paid $40 for these, I would keep them. Anything past that is simply not worth it. That small driver doesn't really compare to a good over-the-ear type headphone set.

high quality - high price
I have used the E3c earphones for about four weeks, (in addition to two weeks without them). I was hesitant about spending so much for, what essentially, looked like earbuds. My expectations were tempered with other reviewers' comments about unimpressive bass response. When I received them, I was indeed initially disappointed, because to my dismay the left speaker sounded "blown". I could clear up some of the buzz by pushing in on the nozzle. I did send them back to the manufacturer, (the vender only allowed a 15-day return period which I could not meet). I was very suprised to have a new, packaged, replacement set of earphones within days. I'm sure that they were immediately shipped the day my faulty ones arrived. The replacement earphones worked very well. The sound quality of these phones are exceptional. The bass is deep and significant, (but not like a sub-woofer if that's what you're looking for). Instead the bass compliments the music without overpowering it like a sub-woofer. The music's quality is so good it has a 3-dimensional feel, almost like the musicians are in the room with you! As an example, when listening to a guitar instrumental that I've heard many times before, while using the E3c earphones I could now easily hear the sound of fingers moving up and down the strings as cords were played. Somethings that I had not noticed previously. The sound-isolating qualities are also very good. In fact, as good as earplugs to the outside world, which further enhances the music quality. If you can afford them, these are very high quality phones. I chose this model as a compromise... I would love to try the next model up..., which costs three times as much! I am very happy with the customer service/support and the quality of the earphones. I would have given them a five-star rating had the first pair of phones worked properly.

If only I could give it a ZERO
I'm a Sony fanatic. I buy Sony first (save for Bose speakers & iPod stuff). I have a Sony receiver, Sony CD changer, Sony DVD player, Sony Walkman, and on and on and on. This is the single worst Sony product I've ever purchased. It is so bad I challenge Sony to show my one documented photo of a single Sony employee who has ever used the product. First, my Bose noise-cancelling headset doesn't hiss--Sony's claim this is normal is bunk. Second, the endless mass of controls and weirdly assymetrical cords make it almost unusable on the train and ferry. Walking with it is nearly impossible owing to the tangle of wires. The weight of the control box weighs enough to pull th ebuds out of your ears. This may sound picky but if you buy these you'll soon see what I mean. It makes then useless for motion--I can't imagine running in them--which is in part why I bought them. The earbuds don't fit in my ears (I can use the standard iPod buds, but none of the Sony buds fit well).

Did *anyone* at Sony actually try this product before it hit the market? At $100 a pop this product is a rippoff. And as a huge Sony fan I warn fellow consumers--go straight to Bose. (I bought these to compliment the Bose because I thought the in-ear design would be better for my daily commute and walking.)

Don't pay full price
I got mine 2 weeks ago and here is my report. BOTTOM LINE: with these headphones, noise cancelling is achieved PRIMARILY by good, tight fit (i.e., just get the cheaper non-noise cancelling circuitry type). As it says in the manual, the circuitry only cancels low frequency sounds like AC unit drone. When in use at Starbux, neither voices nor the milk steamer will be cancelled. Based on my senses, Sony has attempted to attack high frequency noises simply by boosting high frequencies of your music (i.e., a big part of the "noise cancelling" relies on INCREASING noises...which can be damaging and also means it is not effective when music is not played through them). In combination, (tight fit, low freq cancel, high freq boost) you get decent isolation at the expense of altered EQ, extremely limited ability to reduce ambient sounds without playing music, and a STEEP retail price. Again, the cheaper in-ear sony phones without the circuitry are a good alternative if you are unwilling to splurge for the Bose. I have had the opportunity to try the twice as expensive Bose unit...NO COMPARISON. The Bose headphones are absolutely amazing. TRUE noise cancellation. They work stunningly and do not rely at all on music being played through them. Don't try them on at a store without having $300 to spare because you won't want to leave without them! I'm still saving up for mine...

Good Size-Performance Combination
If you're looking for maximum noise reduction, go for the over-the-ear headphone. However, I take my laptop and assorted peripherals with me when I fly and I simply don't have room to store full-size headphones in my carry-on computer case. I purchased these earphones during a business trip a couple of weeks ago, and I've found them to be a good alternative. They're small, but deliver good performance for their size

I wasn't too impressed with them when I tried them in the airport, but my first flight with them was in the back of a 757 and I was surprised at the amount of engine and background noise that they cancelled out. They definitely made the flight a more relaxing experience.

A couple of observations:

1. Make sure you get a good snug fit from the earbuds. If they don't fit snugly, the noise cancellation effect is significantly reduced. It may take some experimentation with the 3 different sizes Sony includes.

2. Once you turn the power on, it may take a few seconds for the noise cancellation to reach it's maximum effect.

3. The earphones don't block the sound of your own voice like the over-the-ear headphones do. In fact, they seem to amplify it. (But then, you're normally not conversing with anyone while listening to music or watching the movie.)

All in all, it's a good value for the money if you spend a lot of time on airplanes and don't want the hassle of carrying the bulkier over-the-ear headphones.

Save you Money
I know these are inexpensive and all but they really are that good but i am picky about sound quality and comfort. These are not good in any of the two. I was hoping for better from sennheiser.. I got these free with my apple ipod. The earphones that come with the ipod from apple are awesome i would throw these free ones away.

good ear buds for work
I always get this model for work, they are cheap which is good because I wear them out and lose them. I find them to be very comfortable-I wear them all day 5 days a week. You can't go wrong for the price.

Worth 4 times the price
The sound is unbelievable asndf the fit just depends on your ear. For me they fit ok, for my wife, they fit perfectly.

ditto on the not very comfortable
I bought these headphones to use while at the gym based upon their claim of being snug and comfortable. The clips hurt my ears while the plug always spins out of my ear forcing constant adjustment. I guess this is what they mean by 'fully adjustable'. I'm not much of an audiophile so I'd be a bad judge of the sound, but it sounds fine to me. But in the areas where the headphones hype themself, they fall very short.

not very comfortable
i bought these headphones thinking they would be more comfortable because of what other people told me. But since i have cartilidge piercings they were not comfortable at all!

pretty good
i have never been able to use in-ear headphones, but these actually work pretty nicely. the plastic is flexible and soft and (once you figure out how to adjust them) they can be quite comfortable without the smother-factor of other headphones. no gross sweaty ears while i run. they are a little hard to put on, but once you get them on they stay pretty well. the sound is pretty good as well, especially for in-ears, which tend to have VERY crappy sound.

    Absolutely Uncomfortable at Best!
I bought these headphones, not sure if they were this model, but they had this same HORRIBLE DESIGN. I mean they sounded alright, but i had them in my ears for little time and they just killed my ears. I dont know why they have that little thing that juts out and goes down your ear canal so large. It is very painful. Everytime i used them, my ears would hurt while i had them on, and then when i took them off, the place where the headphones was numb for the longest time. Dont buy these.
