A good productThe sound quality of the expanium 211 is good (as good as it can be for a product of that value, with small headphones ). It plays the music rapidly, just a few seconds after you introduce a CD in the box, whether it is MP3 or classic CD. You can navigate easily in the MP3 files even though there is no indication about the titles (just numbers).
The most surprising is that you can put in the Expanium CD with MP3 and other files format (such as .avi), the Philips expanium is capable of playing the MP3 files anyway.

I like it!The PREMIER model comes MX (satellite radio) ready.
The output power is really good (200Watts), even without an amplifier you get a really decent sound with a pair of good speakers.
The detachable front is very nice, from this model I like the new feature of the pop-up volume knob, its cool and comfortable.
About the MP3 features, for me, this my first MP3-capable radio. I've ripped all my CD's at 192Kbps and the sound is excellent and fits more than 10 full albums on a single CD. I think that ripping at 128Kbps that is also good quality could give you more than 15. This is almost ten hours of music and about 200 songs!
I'd give this product 4.5 out of five: The only thing I dislike about it is that it is a little slow for reading MP3, starting an MP3 CD lasts about 6,7 seconds, I think this is too much time. And moving from one track to another or one folder to another takes another 5 seconds. Also, the manual says that CD-RW discs are slower than CD-R., but I didn't see the difference.
I can't compare with other MP3 radios, this is my first one. But I'm really happy with this player musically and visually is the best that I've had. I'll keep it for a long time!

So far so good. Sounds great and plays all my mp3 cd'sMy only annoyance is the shuffle feature. It works fine, but everytime I turn it on, I have to go and turn the shuffle on. I wish it would remember that I always want shuffle. I know it's really minor, but that's the only thing wrong with it so far.

almost perfect cd player
- Records more than an hour of high-quality MPEG-4 movie clips as distinct files
- 10x optical zoom; 2-inch fold-out LCD screen
- Also functions as digital camera, stereo audio recorder, MP3 player, data storage, and media player with both NTSC and PAL TV compatibility
- Compatible with USB 2.0 for fast, easy transfers
- World's first hard disk drive (HDD) digital camcorder--save video clips on the 1.5 GB HDD or Memory stick

which mpeg4 codec(divx codec) this camcorder use?
- 64MB memory
- Uses 1 AA battery
- 5 hours of battery life
- Compact and easy to caryy
- Plays ATRAC3, MP3 and WAV

Does what it does well but you may want more features- As small, light, and stylish as they come
- Sounds and plays great
Down side:
- As with other Sony players, each song has to be convereted into the proprietary Sony file format before loading it--you CANNOT directly load a native mp3 file. But not such a big a deal if you're mostly taking trax from CDs.
- Small controls, would have been better if they were different shapes or colors rather than all small and silver
- Lowish battery life (max. 5 hours on one AA alkaline)
- Fixed, internal memory (64mb), not expandable. This is about 80 minutes of music at the medium-high quality bitrate. This means you'll have to manually off- and on-load songs everytime you want to hear a new set. (If I'd thought about this more I might have opted for a player with removable media.)
So, if low size and weight are most important to you, it's definitely worth a look. But if you want something flexible and full-featured, you'll probably want to look elsewhere.

- Large 30 x 57 mm dot matrix LCD
- 6 line LCD displays music, title, & artist ID3 tags
- 450 second anti-shock
- Long play time - 10-12 hours
- Play Key / Power On

I have Yahama home theatre receiver, I hooked it up up and its playing well, but one small problem, I have to use dtv/cbl input of the receiver for the optical input from the player, somehow the dvd input just didn't work.
I use S-Video out put for video, and it is great, colors are just perfect.
Overall it seems to be a good player for the price, I have my doubt, that you get any player with a optical output for this cost.
Go for it it guys !!
