Awesome!!!
The best Cd player I have seen in ages. Wouldn't spend my money on any other mp3 cd player. I love the remote control function. I give this product more than 5 stars because of its ease to use. I use it in my car all the time and it sounds great! I have a subwoofer and an amplifier so it sounds even better. All my songs can be taken on the road with me without a huge cd case that takes up all the room. Hope this encourages you to buy this great Mp3 Cd Player. Happy shopping!

dun like
This thing has a mind of its own! one day it will work great and I would be very pleased with it but then the next day it will skip and just randomly turn off when the batteries are full. Also this thing uses batteries so fast! I think I'm either going to get a RioVolt or a TDK Mojo instead and chuck this piece.

Pine Product?
Great machine. Very comprable to Sony RioVolt. I think it is even better. Pine was the orriginaotor of Mp3 cd players. Only down side is huge battery waste. Get one tody!

Just Buy A Computer And Save Money
Nice simple device, but $1.5K for this? You can buy two or three nice, small-format computers, *with* the little LCD, that have much more advanced features like a DVD burner, not a CD burner, and gigabit or wireless ethernet, not a 56K modem, USB 2.0, firewire, more format compatibility, more control over output formats, the ability to output to a TV for games, movies, etc., the list goes on.

Rio is lucky I'm feeling generous. The one star is for being able to give it to me in one package. The pricing is atrocious though.

What the heck is that?!
That's what everyone says when they see the box with the big blue screen in it. That's my music library I tell them and then I demonstrate by scrolling through the hundreds of albums it ripped the first day I got it. After about this point I'm uncertain as to whether I lose the person to the Oscilloscope visual that dances to the music or the magnitude of potential this device can have in their own home hi-fi.

It has a warehouse-size 40G computer hard-drive that will store right around 6K good quality tunes (160-192khz). You think 6K isn't allot? How many tracks are on the CD you're playing right now? Now do the math. If you still don't think thats allot, there are several documented procedures for upgrading to 120G.

Networking to your home computer is a bit tricky but can be done by anyone with a little know-how. Now you can get all those MP3s off your silly little Altec Lansings and onto your Pioneers for some real listening. If you can't network, the RADAC will take data CD-Rs as well.

The sound quality coming out of this device is better than most audio equipment these days. Which means they had the high-level audio connoisseur (tube amp, electrostatics, belt-drive turntable, etc.) in mind.

Not THAT into music? The convenience factor is super-high with this device. I've put all my CDs into the closet (for safe keeping -- I don't know) and just run the first thing that comes into my head. Graceland by Paul Simon? Sure... and it's playing.
Mixed the perfect driving music by mistake last night? The RADAC can burn you an audio CD for the commute before the coffee pot finishes.
What was that tune the wife was playing the other day? Search by tracks recently played. Forgot you had that album, didn't you?
Parties are a cakewalk. Create a custom play list where you pick all the tracks to be played or select several albums and randomize the tracks or whatever and just let it run. You're out of wine. Never out of music.

It is unable to play what it claims
Although this MP3 player claims that it is able to play CD-R/RWs both in audio and MP3 formats, it is not true 100%. I had problems with playin all the MP3 songs on CD-RWs. It sometimes cannot skip to the next directory, but it continues as two directories are one. It could not play an audio cd-r that I created on my PC which was played by other cd players. All mp3s play very good on PCs and other MP3 players.

I keep mine since I bought it used for cheap and it pays what it gives to me.

Easy to use except.....
I really thought this player was good, until I went to play the CD I had "ripped" from MP3 files. I had recorded this CD in the order I wished to hear my favorite songs. Much to my surprise, I had to listen to songs in order of the artist's name (alphabetically). There was not enough info w/ the Colby player to help me re-arrange my songs without spending another hour or so "programing" the player. I think from now on I will just stick w/ regular old pre-recorded CDs.
I wanted this player to take all MY songs on a smaller amount of compact discs, but the inconvience of having to "program" after I had already recorded in MY order was rather frustrating.
Otherwise it is, light and I do love the idea of being able to play MP3 files!!

Glove soft leather, but not quite a glove fit.
I recently had the good fortune to pick up an IPod. I quickly realized that if you travel frequently with it (you will) and want to swap songs alot (you will) that you need a case that protects the Ipod from scratches and will let you have easy access to the controls. I picked up the Leather IPod sleeve and have mixed feelings about it.
First, the good points. The leather quality is very nice, and the IPod slides in easily. Overall I'm not greatly impressed, the vinyl protector for the screen is a bit warped making it a bit difficult to quickly glance at song titles, etc. Additionally I find that the viynl covering for the buttons makes it harder to use the forward/backward, play and menu keys. Lastly, I don't care for the belt clip, it is a big bit of bulky plastic, works great as a clip, but when you aren't using the IPod, and have it in your pocket for example, its a bit uncomfortable.
If you are looking for the executive look, I'd recommend something like Belkin wallet case. Likewise if you are looking for more of a protective case, some of the neoprene cases may be a better choice. This is a decent product, but there are some better cases out there.

Not Bad, I Guess
I got this for my I-pod mistakenly thinking it might help me while running. The arm band is pretty useless because of the weight of the I-pod and takes forever to get adjusted and strapped on. The hip clip and swivel are actually awesome and the neoprene wrapper itself fits good and has convenient openings.

Won't use standard headphones......
The price was right I went ahead and bought one of these since they are the smallest mp3 player on the market to the best of my knowledge. Mixed bag, some good, some bad.

- Biggest complaint is it doesn't accept standard headphones. Uses a mini-jack instead. To make matters worse they don't supply a stereo adapter with the player so I had to buy one at R@dioSh@ck and the adapter is nearly as big as the player. That sux. The whole reason for getting the player was because of it's small size and now I have to use a stupid adapter to use the headphones I want to use. MAJOR design flaw.

- It works great with XP, no drivers or software needed. Just drag and drop, as all mp3 players should be.

- Audio quality sounds good, but all mp3 players(and ESPECIALLY flash based mp3 players) should support .wma format. Small wma files sound so much better than small mp3 files.

Overall I'd probably discourage my friends from purchasing the player because of the whole headphones issue. Not many people are going to like the supplied headphones/necklace so it's a big issue. Too bad because it is smaller/lighter than anything else on the market but the fractions of an inch to accept standard headphones would have made all the difference.

If only it had a Belt Clip
Having just gotten an Ipod, I was looking for a better case than the one that comes with it from apple. The jam jacket is definetly cool, and allows for one to use the Ipod buttons, which the standard one does not. In addition, it also provides your Ipod with an almost scratch proof design. However the only problem is that it doesn't come with a belt clip that would make it easier to travel with.
