Aiwa In-Dash CD Player (CDC-X927M)
Made by Aiwa

Nice Sound, built like garbage, company doesn't care.
This unit has great sound and quite a punch. 22 Watt RMS, twin possition BBE processing for nice mids. But the biggest drawback is the quality of the unit itself. First off, the magic flap idea is unique. But the first problem I had is that it wouldn't always flip open for use, but continue to play. Next, All of a sudden all it would do is play the disc, and never even eject. I was stuck listening to the same disc for a couple of days. Then it just quit working all together. When I contacted Aiwa, They informed me that I was just days past the end of my warranty. It would therfore cost me 99.00 to get it fixed. End of story.

This unit is either going in the trash, or I am going to send back to the manufacturer so they can shove it where they may. I will never buy another product from this company. And I would advise anyone I know to do the same. If you ask me, they don't deserve anyone's money.

Great until it catches fire =P
    Ergonomics: 2 stars.
    Functionality: 1 star.
    Company: 1 star.

It's a great idea. Prolong the battery life of your iPod so it's virtually infinite... that sounds great. I thought it was a great device until I had a potentially dangerous problem with it.

First off, the design is quite poor. The device is large and bulky, and the power connector should be integrated into the device so the rubber wire/cord it does not have the potential of getting torn, broken, or stripped in some way. The suction cups-- well, I haven't had any bad experiences yet, but suction-based plastic to affix a 59.99 piece of equipment to a $500 piece of equipment... I don't trust it.

The major problem with my battery pack was that it continually overheats and melts the innerds of the device. The springs are ruined, I can't use it, and Belkin refuses to replace it. Fortunately I haven't gotten seriously burned. But either way... Don't waste your money, especially since it's your safety we're talking about

      lousy with MP3 files
I've had this player about 2 weeks. Radio is decent. Plays audio CDs okay. However, it will not play MP3 files in the correct order. There doesn't seem to be a logical basis for the order of the tracks as it plays them. It ignores the 'playlists' that are on the MP3CDs altogether. If that doesn't matter to you, then it might be okay. I think it stinks.
I'll probably switch to Sony, which has its own (better) compression technology anyway.

        Do Not Buy This
My husband and I each purchased one. Both of our software discs were corrupted so we downloaded from the site directly. Then my husbands wouldn't accept any transfers, so we returned it. Mine was working so we kept it. Then the next day mine started acting up. It would freeze then no longer respond to anything I did. It wouldn't even turn off. Luckiy I have all packaging and will return.

JENSEN MP-3510 180 Watt AM/FM with CD/MP3 Playback and Detachable Face (JENSEN MP3510)

CD/MP3 player failed, no service as company is bankrupt
I was in the market for a CD/MP3 player with ID tag compatibility and an Auxiliary input for when that inevitably was replaced by some newer technology. i searched the web and found a product that had great sound and power quality and the above options with a detachable faceplate. I thought it was heaven. So i got on E-bay and bought a used version of this product. The product was deleivered sans manual, so i searched again and began to see a distrubing pattern of reviews. While, the company that bought Jensen (when it went bankrupt) was kind enough to send me an electronci copy of the manual, the product has some serious flaws. After a few months of use, the CD/MP3 stops recognizing tracks, even on store bought CDs. Check the reviews out there before you buy this!

          Kenwood In-Dash CD/MP3 Player (KDC-MP919)

            Flawed Design
This head unit offers about as many customization features as you could want.....including equalization that allows you to chose centerpoints in the bass, mid-range, and treble, and then attenuation or boost around those centerpoints. The sound is decent as is the search and play capabilities of the MP3 player. Unfortunately, the flip head feature of the unit is badly flawed. After about a year the unit had to go to the repair shop because the flip mechanism failed. The local repair people tell me this is common in this model and they keep extra spare ribbons (which is what fails) to repair the head unit. The head unit cannot be used when this happens because it stays in a half opened position. In addition, it periodically malfunctions, flipping itself in a half open position. You have to reset the unit and that looses all your setting.

In any case, I'll never buy another flip head again and doubt I'll buy another Kenwood. I informed Kenwood of my problems and they never responded to me.
