Excellent blast to the buckAll of the above mentioned items are powered and driven by Harmon Kardon AVR 525 7.1 Receiver. Harmon international has done a great job on all of these equipment, the AVR 525 produces crystal clear sound with excellent clarity. Even though this unit produces 70W per channel, it powerful enough to make an earthquake at -10 db.
I am very happy about my investment and the quality service of Amazon and J&R store.

Superb Sound Staging!Though it takes sometime to break-in, listening to it out-of-the-box will annoy your ear, it's muddy at first power-up then became nicer and nicer. The grills are flimsy but for the price this speaker are really best buy.
Excellent Performance (especially for the Sale price). They are not as compact as I thought.
I think that this is an excellent speaker for the price I paid (400$ / Pair), but I don't think spending the original price (600$) is reasonable, and not because of sound quality.
Actually I haven't decided if I'm going to keep mine or not.
I live in Oklahoma and it's very difficult to buy speakers over here, because you don't have selection of speakers that you can audit.
I love British speakers and they are very expansive in the States.
Let's get to business: sound quality is superb. Very effective and punchy low end without neglecting the high end which performs great clarity and a very open sound.
Bi-Amping is significantly, unbelievably effective. I did it with a pretty powerful NAD receiver and the compatible power amp. Amazing sound and capability.
The negative side (critical to me but does not effect the rate, just because of the price I paid): UK speakers which are made in China, I don't think that this is suitable for speakers (and I didn't notice any comment regarding that on Amazon), terrible grills - I don't know how long they will last, also I don't like the finish (vinyl that I'm not sure how durable it will be and how they will look like in few years).
Bottom Line: great sound but still hesitating due to the built quality, I'm eager to get something like Monitor Audio Silver 6/8 or the astonishing Wharfedale Pacific Evo 30 but they are more than twice the price I paid and I'm not sure that the sound is any better.
If you can compromise about the built and you get them, try Bi-Amping with quality compatible Amps and you get a high end sound.
Great sound, great valueSo, I'll cut to the bottom line: I have been very pleased with my Diamond 8.4s. At this price point, nothing comes close to the combination of outstanding sound quality, build quality, and good looks. If I had to do it over again, there is no question I'd go with Wharfedale.

Worth Every Penny, Sound And Looks.
Great Value!Sound--these aren't just for looks, after all! A good amount of bass and well defined high-notes. Very nice, indeed, and the best sounding speakers I've ever owned. I am driving the Emerald 97's with a Yamaha RX-570 receiver, 70 watts/channel, connected in a bi-wire configuration. Interestingly, I can now actually play the receiver at full volume (yes, unreasonably loud, but tolerable), something I couldn't have dreamed of doing with my old Acoustic 3311 Series ("white van") speakers. I imagine whoever makes the Acoustic speakers weren't lying about the sensitivity--95 db. The Wharfedale's have a sensitivity of 89 db, and suppose I may need to get a more powerful amplifier to fully realize the speaker's capabilities. Then again, I do live in a condo, and probably shouldn't do anything--like buy a more powerful amplifier--that might encourage me to play music any louder than I already do ;-)
You cannot do better for the money, twice the money...
