As college student with no money, I still look for the best sound I can find for my music. These speakers are superb for a small dorms. When paired with at least 100 watts these will pound out enough bass to shake your walls but will not lose any tonal quality. JBL has done a great job on presenting consumers with a economical choice for sound. Over all I would recomemd these to any college student that wants to improve the sonic quality of the dorm room.

Actually I have a pair of HLS 410's. And I would like to point out that they are awesome too. I was going to buy the 610's but I liked the small footprint of the 410's. The 410's are the size of most boombox speakers, but sound 1000 times as good. I was astonished by the incredibly tight bass that was produced by just a 3.5 inch woofer. And the tweeter is the same one that is used in some of JBL's premier tower speakers, so the overall sound quality is incredible. Remember that I am talking about the 410's, which are the entry level of the HLS series; It only gets better.

I ALREADY HAD A PAIR OF THESE SPEAKER, NOW I'M GOING TO BUY ONE MORE......ANY QUESTION?

I recently bought the N26's to replace JBL's N24's. I am totally impressed with the sound and performance of these speakers. I use them as rear speakers for surround sound. The clarity is outstanding by far. Wouldn't recommend them for the front speakers, but outstanding for the rear! Great price for such a great deal. Kinda hard to find a place to sit them unless you acctually have a bookcase behind you. It is a must to buy speaker stand or a heavy duty wall bracket. Good luck and good listening!

I wouldn't insult my ears by using these speakers as my sole sound output device, mostly couse I've gone all but deaf from their big brothers the N-Center and the N-310's, they do on the other hand make great rears for them...They do (when I shut off the other 7 speakers) sound awsome, although their small size and High-sensitivity make them hiss at high volumes

These speakers are AMAZING!!! I have it hooked up to my mini-system, and they produce some of the best sound I have ever heard in a speaker. They are the equivelent to the floorstanding JBL's I have in my living room for a bedroom. I was shocked at the sound they put out for their small size. The highs, mids, and lows are all great on this speaker. I would recommend them to anyone, this is a great deal!!!

I returned them and decided to pay a bit more for these Yamaha speakers which were the best-reviewed model I could find at a low price. And I couldn't be happier.

Great sound for a 2 speaker system. I bought the black (a little more expensive but go well with my IBM T30).

How can you complain for under 30 bucks .. Great for outdoor use. NO they are not Klipsch but they are 30 BUCKS. I would recommend they for anyone wanting an inexpensive speaker.

I hooked these up to my Dennon flame thrower to an outside B channel.
The sound is as good as you'll get at any cost.
I'm still cautious about decibels though, I just figure there easy to blow. But did go happy boy a few times and they still sound great. I always push my speakers before the warranty's up.

We placed our speakers 1' above our deck and 14' seperation. Couple that with monster cable-THESE SPEAKERS SOUND GREAT!!!
We are using a 50W/channel receiver. Well placed, these speakers have plenty of highs and the bass is audible (sub-woofer) would give enhancement). For our back-ground type music under the sun/stars this is an exceptional deal. Well worth the purchase!!

OK, it's not an super high end/expensive item, but for anyone with a real world budget, this is pretty good. I was very surprised at how big an improvement it made in watching video (once I got the settings and levels right on my receiver). The purchase is entirely worthwhile. Dialog is noticably clearer than simply running the video sound thru my main speakers (and mine are pretty high end). For anyone whose stereo budget is under $5k this is a very useful addition, in my opinion. Even in a higher end system it may fit in, for any but the super picky and hyperwealthy.

I have this paired with the Emerald 97 fronts (working on back & sub...) and a Yamaha real sound receiver. Wow. Even with the 3 speakers instead of the full 6 the sound is full and dynamic. The only issue is the grille. The prongs used to attach the grille are darn skinny and mine snapped off in shipping. I'm working on replacing that, but in the meantime, I have a great-sounding speaker (with no grille). Definately a good speaker.

Okay, I'll be brief. I built my first stereo amp from a kit when I was 12. I have bought and sold audio gear as a hobby/job all my adult life (I'm now 50). I bought two of these to use as a stereo pair. They are FABULOUS!! High quality drivers, speaker case meticulously crafted. Weight so heavy they can be stood on end without fear of tipping over. The dual 5 1/4 in. woofers extend the bass to a nice low level. In short, there is not a center channel on the market at close to $179 that can match these. They have been discontinued by Wharfdale which is why they are so inexpensive. Go for it!
