Awesome and Beautiful!!I am a fan of JBL speaker. After seeing this beautiful JBL duet and this low price in Amazon, I decided to order this special JBL Duet. JBL N24My other speakers are JBL S-38s, older re-coned JBL 12" 3-way (until recently also had older AR towers).
Like the S-38s, the N-24s are extremely tight and clean in the midrange and highs; but the N-24s obviously don't have a booming bass. Neither do the S-38s, but both have bass notes that are not noticeably muddy or loose. However, a subwoofer can easily fix this.
I am really enjoying the heck out of the JBLs (and of course my new AV receiver). In retrospect, I'd consider getting the N-24s as front L-R and a good subwoofer as a 2-channel stereo setup.
Once I got over the idea of the plastic enclosure and small size, I saw these speakers for the gems that they are. Admittedly, the N-24s are not rock-the-house party speakers; but they do sound good loud.
Outstanding Imaging, sound quality and depth! But here's what amazes me about it. First is the bass, which sounds surprisingly full for such a small speaker . . . -- unlike the SuperZero XU or the ProMonitor 80, this speaker is very easy to match up with practically any subwoofer.
When you get a listen to the mids, though, you'll forget how good the bass is. I think the midrange of this speaker may be the cleanest...
The JBL N24 front left & right ..... 89 Hz to 18.9 kHz ±2.7 dB (Sound&Vision JAN 2001 Mag)
Matt Nelson (JBL Associate Engineer) revealed that the N24 use a significantly different crossover design -- first-order (6 dB/octave), as compared to second-order (12 dB/octave) in the other Northridge speakers.
So, for a speaker of its size and price, I can't find anything that the N24 really does wrong, but to get that full Cinematic DD-5.1 sub-sonic impact, I recommend that you get a nice 10" - 15" Power Sub. I use the AudioSource SW15 - 200w 15"... ...

Great as part of surround system, fair if used only as pairMy experience in playing DVD movies with these S36's as front speakers, and an S series center channel speaker (and a couple generic rear speakers), has been entirely positive; a very natural soundstage is presented when a DVD is pumping out information to all the different channels. I am less impressed by how they perform solo (as a pair that is, without any center channel or surrounds) so will limit my reccomendation to only those who are buying them as part of a multi speaker set up.
Does this mean you should not get these? Depends on how you tend to play back stereo music (from CDs): If you are a purist who chooses to play stereo music through only 2 speakers, these are not the speakers for you (indeed, avoid shelf speakers altogether and get some good floor speakers!). If you're a modern person who tends to engage your receiver's surround processing to force a stereo signal into all the center speaker and surrounds too, then you've got no worries - this seems to be what they are made for. Needless to say, but I'll say it anyway: these shelf speakers are better than shelf speakers that use a remote woofer. However, this still doesn't mean they have great bass. They have moderate bass - better than those, but still not competing with floor speakers. Indeed, despite these being great for shelf speakers, after several years of trying different kinds of shelf speakers I've come to the conclusion that there's simply no replacement for good old fashioned floor speakers with huge woofers - if you can afford it, and if you have a large enough room.
But if you are in a smaller apartment and don't have space to waste on floor speakers, and are looking for speakers to be part of a surround system, then these S36 are definately worth considering - particularly at the $... to $... price range they are most often available for. They are remarkably flush - only 5 inches deep, meaning they can even fit on shallow DVD shelves - you don't need actual bookshelves for these, which is why I chose them over JBL's other similarly-prices speakers. I wanted speakers that would not be competing for space. They can also be mounted to the wall - either hung, or on a mount (useful for people intending to use these as rears).
In short these are probably perfect for students-through-thirties who want to build an excellent surround system that doesn't waste space, and want a moderate amount of bass (more than many shelf units, but not as much as floor units).

Great for how I use them! The Koss speakers (measuring about 3.5" wide, 4.5" tall, and 3" deep) fit easily into my suitcase. They are light and durable with hard plastic faces (not foam). And their "passive" design means that there are no batteries or AC cords to worry about (their only power being the signal from my audio device's output jack).
The sound quality isn't great. (The bass notes sound much like a guy beating his hand on a cardboard box, and the highs sound like they are emanating from down a long hallway.) But the fidelity is vastly superior to what I get from my laptop's speakers.
I can now enjoy listening to my custom playlists while traveling -- without having to endure the piped-in music available on my hotel room's cable TV or the tinny bedside clock radio. I use the Koss speakers mainly while reading the paper in the morning, or while checking my e-mails at night.
(I tried using the Koss units around my home, but their sound was vastly inferior to the Labtec Spin 50 and 60 speakers that I also have -- which are larger, heavier, and require a separate AC cord plug-in.)
For the convenience of enjoying digital music while traveling -- without a headset -- the Koss portable speakers perform wonderfully. (And for the price -- you can't beat 'em!)
These are cool

Move Over Home Audio System1) Two silver satellite speakers (8.5 x 1.5 inches), mounted on black bases, which in turn can be mounted on the wall
2) One black subwoofer (9 x 9 x 9 inch)
3) One wired remote control module with power/volume, bass, and treble knobs
4) One dual RCA to 3.5mm connenction cable
5) One dual RCA to dual RCA connection cable
The frequency response is listed in the manual as 30 - 150 Hz for the subwoofer and 150 - 20,000 Hz for the satellites.
As for my impressions of these speakers, I don't know a lot of the technical jargon, but I can say that I don't use my home audio system as much as I did before I bought these speakers. My only complaint is that they're a little fuzzy if the treble is too high relative to the bass. Overall, they sound great though.
superb systemreally love it . Strongly recommended
for people enjoying gaming .Fantastic

Practical but scarce.Walkman-style players are a dime a dozen. So what attracted me to this particular model was its ability to record reasonably high quality live music in stereo. The unit is the same size as the one I'm replacing--an Aiwa--which costs about 40% more.
There are a few nice features on the Panasonic--the battery power indicator and built-in speakers that are actually usable--but not enough to atone for the loss of my Aiwa. The silvery face makes it less practical for "stealth" recordings, tuner sensitivity and selectivity are atrocious, it lacks auto reverse and, most significantly, despite the claims of stereo recording, Panasonic neither supplies a mini-stereo microphone nor offers a purchasable one. If you can find the Aiwa, pick it up for the extra 40%. Otherwise, a Sony mini-disc, though considerably more expensive, is probably your best bet.
