I'd like to be able to rate the product but since the seller failed to meet their end of the agreement I never received my speakers.

These speakers look cool and sound great, all at a decent price. I did think the grids on the speakers were metal, based on the photos here, but they're actually a silver plastic. I was dissapointed at first, but after listening to the speakers I've learned to love them.

I recomend this to gamers, and even people that want soround sound but dont want to spend alot. Now it is true that it isn't going get the cops called on you since it isn't like a movie theatre but it is very loud in a closed room! The best part is the... Base! The base will make your floor viberate in the right spot. However their are some down sides to this.
1. It is only 100 watts(but big deal)
2.It dosnt have a cordless remote
3. you can hear some sttic whaen it is off but you can get used to it.

Up sides to this.

JBL means quality sound, and that doesn't have to come at the price of expensive floor standing speakers. Being 16 and on a budget, finding good deals is a part of life. Whilst the N24II speakers are small, they sound much larger than they appear to be. With an amazingly flat frequency response, the N24II's produce sound well into the 70Hz range. I own a JBL PB12 subwoofer, and they are a perfect match with the crossover set to around 80Hz. The cabinets are nearly a perfect crescent shape, which reduces standing wave buildup in the cabinet resulting in cleaner and tighter bass. I use these speakers in the surround channel aspect of movies and music, but I frequently find myself connecting them to the front speaker outputs of my Kenwood receiver and listening to music. When speakers sound that good, it really doesn't matter where in the room the sound is coming from; back or front. Acoustic music takes on a new meaning with amazingly accurate vocals, thrilling high-frequencies, and ample tight bass. These speakers sound good right out of the box, but sound even better after being properly broken in after 60 hours of use. At such a low price, and with amazing quality of workmanship and sound, go out and buy a few pairs for you and the neighborhood-these are not cheap plastic speakers. You can always achieve great sound with the proper setup.

Whoever said that couldn't achieve a good sound from little speakers, was wrong. Whoever said that you need a big set of 10 or 12 inch drivers in a floor speaker to sound good, was wrong.
So was I. I thought that good sound was only possible with floor speakers.
These set of little speakers handle music & movies without problems.
I bought this pair mainly to serve as my surround-back speakers for my set. Since I have mainly used them for surround-sound purposes, I had not really given these speakers a chance to show what they are.
Well, I had a party last night and I put them to the test. I connected these to my JBL subwoofer and hanged them on the wall with the brackets outside in the porch. For my surprise, these speakers handled everything I threw on the cd player. From techno to rap, to latin & rock, they did a really good job.
The highs were perfect, mids were there, and lows were as well. Even though the bass was mainly being from my jbl subwoofer, the speakers did handle it well when I tested them without the subwoofer. Come on, for a 4 inch driver, the bass is pretty good.
I was so pleased with the performance, that I'm even thinking about buying an extra pair to connect them in my porch.
I was getting complements from everyone on how good the sound was from such little speakers.
I said, well it's JBL.
And for the price you can't beat it.
Go and get yours and listen to your movies & music the way it's supposed to sound.

I can't believe that someone reviewed these speakers so unfavorably. In our home theatre they sound absolutely amazing. I've read technical reviews of these units that extol their incredibly flat frequency response from 18,000 to 90 Hz, and to my ears they are indeed crisp and clear.. We have a high end SVS subwoofer we use with these, and for home theatre, the sound is wonderful. There have been times when we've turned off the subwoofer output of the amp for late viewing, and it still sounds fine. I've often forgotten to turn the sub back on and I'm still pleased with the sound.

We consider them the best bargain in home theatrer!

I've had this system for about a month now, and it's definitely a great sounding system. I spent countless hours online, talking to people with different systems, and listening in stores before I decided on this one. The reasons that swayed me were (1) the sound - it is unbelievable. I rented a tape titled "The Dish" (don't have a DVD player yet - that's next) and at the point where the Apollo 11 lifted off I thought my house would go with it. Probably rattled the neighbors windows - but that's what a powered 120 watt sub will do. (2) The cost - very reasonable for a system with this wattage and features. (3) The form factor of the speakers - I didn't want huge boxes sticking out all over my living room and also didn't want to take out a second mortgage to get a Bose. Also, these are 8 ohm speakers where some systems use 4 ohm which I read might contribute to overheating of the receiver at high volumes. Don't know for sure if that's correct but why take a chance. (4) The brand - I've had JVC camcorders and audio equipment before and have never had a problem. Plus this system carries a 2 year warranty - twice that of most others.

Now for the down side - (1) remote is not universal - didn't bother me too much - just went out and bought one for under $20. (2) No S-video connections, regardless of what it says in the technical write up on this site. (check the JVC site) Again, didn't bother me too much because once I get a DVD player I'll just route the S-video from it directly to my TV. (3) Included speaker wire (same complaint I hear from a lot of people across all brands) is only good for tying up newspapers - invest in some higher quality (Radio Shack is fine) 16-18 gage wire for yourself.

All in all, a great system at a reasonable price.

I purchased this system around 7 months ago. Before I purchased I had listened to it at my local electronics department and it was fabulous. A friend purchased an RCA with 700 Watts output, but I come to realized that it is not the watts that count but the high quality that a system brings. This JVC once installed in my home is really good.

I was expecting more because of the good reviews, but these are the worst sounding speakers I have ever heard. It comes with a wired remote that controls volume for the front and rear. The front speakers and sub are controled by the same knob. Every time you turn up the volume you turn up the sub, which is the most muffled sounding sub I have ever heard in my life. It sounds like it's blown. I tried playing music on my comp and the only way to make it sound close to decent is adjusting the sound using an EQ. The sound was just as bad when I tried watching a DVD. The sub made each characters voice sound like "burr burr burrr". Avoid buying these speakers. I will be returning mine as soon as possible. Invest in some better quality ones. I previously had a set of "Altec Lansing ATP3 2.1" . Those sounded awesome and were about the same price.

These speaker for 50 bucks are great. I have them hooked up to my computer and have left them connected since I got my room hooked up to surround sound from Panasonic. I still like how they sound, nice sub and the sats aren't bad. THe only problem I have with them is when I blast my music they become unclear, but really I only paid 50 bucks for them and they sound great when I make them loud. Nice bass, nice sats, I highly recommend.

these speakers perform very well for my DVDs, computer games and MP3 songs; have been using these for past 2 months and absolutely no problems !!!

So I'm on a tight budget and I'm starting from low to higher prices.
This one caught my eye by it's unique look and powerful specs (I had to look it up at Labtec.com) , but I knew there was something missing from all of the details.

Good points: Good sound and neat looks, Good amount of bass and loudness, and 4 satellite speakers.

Bad Points: The two rear speakers are useless unless you have a sound card that supports 3d sound and plan on using it just for your computer (sometimes it's nice to hook speakers up to the tv for video games,but this one's not that good for such things) . Worst of all, there is No EQUALIZER!! (That means you can only control how loud it is and you're stuck with whatever sound you get.)

How am I supposed to know all of this, just by looking at some pictures? I wish someone told me this stuff.

Well, overall, this is a really inexpensive buy for a good sound, but the shipping and handling(about [money amount]) makes it an "iffy" buy.

I like the Labtec Arena so far...

These are very impressive-looking speakers. They sound great, but I'm not a big bass fan, and the bass is sometimes a little too much for me. Other than that, they sound excellent. A perfect addition to any computer system.

This set of speakers is just great, I would have never imagined to buy a 5 piece set of speakers that sound great at just [price]. I recently got them and I was just blown away from the incredible sound of both the speakers and the subwoofer. If you want great set of speakers at a low price, buy these!!!

I had these speakers for almost 2 years. Great stuff, nothing to complain about.

For small desktop speakers these are unbelievable in their high level of sound quality and level. Driven by almost any Creative Labs sound card or equivelant, these are far better than most home stereos. While they won't shatter glass or your ear drums, they come close, and they do it without distortion.

I am happy to be able to give my head phones and laptop speakers a break, but still be able to enjoy my music whilst working on my laptop. The speakers are easy to setup and "space-efficient".

If you are a die-hard gamer or music fanatic / artist, you will obviously want look into a higher-end (and much more expensive) model.

For its price, the sound is terrific and that is what the 5 star rating reflects - the great value of this product!

...Please note that speaker cables are bound together and that greatly limits the the ability to place the speakers for optimal sound. Once I did set up the speakers, I found the bass wasn't all that great. I also tried hooking up the speakers to my TV set and only two the speakers produced sound. So be forewarned!

nothing else to say, this set has submerge my gaming experience put me right in the middle of the crossfire! You feel the wind, birds, all passing right by you, darken your room for a more realistic thrill! It;s an escape from reality! Excellent rumble from the sub too!

okay these are the best speakers, they are a little confusing hooking up because you have to leave a wire out otherwise two of them don't work but once you figure it out they are so amazing, there loud, small, go all around the computer, i love these speakers so much buy them don't get ripped off by other [more expensive] speakers because these are even better

I purchased a pair of IW6S speakers 3 months ago so I could listen to music in my kitchen and living room. They seemed like a good deal and I was not looking for great sound from them, just decent background music. Unfortunately, I am disappointed by their total lack of bass and poor sound quality. I was not expecting booming bass but a 6 1/2 inch speaker should produce at least a minimal amount of bass. If I had to do it over again, I would spend a little more money and get a much better speaker

One very good thingthe listener who was dissappointed in the bass response could do is ensure there is an acousitcal enclosure on the back side. If the back of the speaker vents into a large space, such as an attic, a lot of bass will be lost there. I use fiberglass and boxes to create a little chamber, works well, once you get the hang of it.

For the price they are unbeatable, They are great for rear speakers for surround systems. I will put them againts speakers costing 3x as much. These are being used with (Polk Audio) 2000 Towers & Center 400csi. (And AudioSource holding their own). Good work AudioSource

Speeker came defective no power or sound,I,m sending it back

I bought this after returning a KLH 12 inch subwoofer to Costco. It was the second KLH to quit on me. The KLH has more punch than the Audiosource. The SW10 has a more rumble sounding bass rather than punchy. Great for earthquake movies but not music. I might try packing it with foam to see if that improves it.

This sub was a great addition to our budget stereo. It has all the necessary controls - level, phase, freq, and autopower. It added a great rumble and feel to our existing speakers without being obnoxious. Highly recommend to accompany bookshelf speakers or a starter home theater.

The speakers have a rating of 5 watts RMS, not ten as stated above. The sound is decent only at the lowest of levels - at least on my computer. They can't play loudly without considerable distortion.

The speakers are pretty decent for the money.
I just picked them up because I just wanted a cheap pair to hold me over for a little while. The sound quality is decent. Not a lot of bass obviously, but decent.
However, if you turn the volume up more than halfway, you start hearing a constant buzzing sound which gets louder as you increase volume. A bit annoying.

But again, fo the money they aren't terrible.

I purchased these speaker at walmart for 20$ they sound decent depending on what you want you want to use them for. There not made to be loud although they can sound fairly loud when playing music or dvds, or even games. When you turn the speakers up all the way they tend to make a type of rattling sound/buzzing sound. So if your wanting loud speakers dont buy these. Although they do sound good for instant messgaing music,things that dont require alot of bass or really high pitch. But these speakers are worht the 20$ for your tipical computer uses.
