pitiful
After getting this product, it had many problems such as turning off at the wrong times and then not coming back on for a long time. The cord was so short and flimsy it snapped.

Great Little Speakers!
I chose these because I wanted a simple, inexpensive set of pc speakers. I am very pleasantly surprised to hear the tone quality; they don't have a "tinny" sound, and it's not necessary to crank up the volume just to be able to hear finer notes. These speakers have a surprisingly full sound quality. I like the convenient on/off switch and manual volume control. I really am quite pleased with these speakers and would eagerly recommend them to anyone looking for a modestly priced, decent set of speakers to enjoy whilst sitting at their computer!

Great value!
I purchased these speakers so I could listen to my music CD's while surfing the net. I'm surprised at how well they work considering the price. The on/off switch is great. These aren't cheap speakers that you have to turn up all the way to just be able to hear them. All in all, I am very pleased with this purchase.

Excellent valued speakers ...
I just started using these and I will admit they aren't the higest power rated speakers but for a directional 7.1 gaming rig and personal surround system the price is impossible to beat... I bought this with an Audigy 2 Gamer and the best game out there (FarCry) and the price is excellent... The bundle of games with the Audigy 2 Gamer is also a great deal for those that don't have them(...)P>Use the gift certificate for Unreal 2004, Doom 3 or Half Life 2...

Keep in mind to get maximum value out of this you need to add a solid video card to your rig. Picked up a Geforce 6800GT OC and am sitting pretty...

Happy gaming...

Midrange for games and treble + base for music
The subwoofer is virtually identical to the 6600 set(6.1) with 2 extra RMS for the 7th speaker layout. The midrange is much like the 6.1's but the front end has tweeters as well as center tweeter/mid for V/O talant in games(which is sadly drown out in most games by sound progammers fault, not the speakers). The games that really thrive are the FPS as everyone says, but some sims also take good advantage even IND War II spreads it out quite well and seems to be universally compatible with all systems-9.1 anyone? Most kinds of games(RPG, Adventure, tactical) do not get fully apprieciated becasue of the subtle sounds that do not get heard well unless you turn up the volumn. insects, birds, distant waterfalls, peasant chatter, and other ambience is better heard on the Gigaworks set or Logitech's 5.1. Which cost two arms and three legs to purchase.
On the music side, Classic Rock music(like Rush, Yes, Kansas, Head East, Heart, Spooky Toothe ect.) sound excellent because you don't want too much bass in that stuff. Most other music(classical and easy) nead more midrange and less hissy treble to truely appreciate. If you listen to Beat music or other bass required tunes you need a better set than this. Creative's acompanying sound card does quite well at dividing instruments descretely in all 7 channels however on this set.
If you don't have the money for the fancy set, go for it, but if you play games and want to appreciate the sound quality save up for the big one. Otherwise you are probably better off with a 2.1 with tweeters, midrange and a thumpy bass.

Great for the price
There isn't a better system for PC gaming (for the price) than these Inspire T7700's. To begin with, 7.1 DOES make a difference with games - the transitions are much smoother. The two-way satellites add to the high end, and the sub puts out a lot of bass. The wired controller lets you adjust everything, and even has a line in (for plugging in my MP3 jukebox). I also like the way they look with the grill off :)

Performs As Expected!
I've been looking for a center speaker to upscale the sound of my Yamaha Home Theater System. It has a great sound but the center is so important and I find myself having to strain at times to clearly hear the dialogue. Thje KLH 943PL is my first attempt at buying a speaker I have not heard. A task I doubt I will do again! I can't complain, for the price this speaker performs ok and it is marginally better than my Yamaha center especially if only listening to cable HBO or music. I can easily say this is a fair speaker and hey, you can't beat the price. As I write this I am already looking for a center which can deliver a little crisper sound and I realize I will have to pay more. That said, if you have a bare bones system and need a cheap upgrade, I doubt you will be disappointed. I do want to mention that this product was expensive to ship in my opinion and it did not include speaker wire or the 4 rubber feet that was suppose to come with it. When I called J&R Music, where the speaker ships from, they were less than friendly, could care less that it did not ship with what they said it would and a final thought, based on my brief interaction with this place, I wouldn't look to them for anything else, there are better placec to buy speakers. Hope this helps, skip

Great Product for Price and SIZE!!!
I Just bought this product from J&R music and I am very impresed by its performance. I was encouraged to purchase this product bacause I also have 4 KLHB911 bookshelf speakers (2 which serve as my floorstanding) for my 5.1 surround sound. These little guys pump out lots of clear sound and with my KLH 12" 125W down-firing sub I literally shake the windows!! :). with the brand new addition of this center channel my surround sounds perfect.

Good speaker
Just bought one last night and quickly hook it up with my home audio system. I was immediately impressed with the sound coming out of this little box[...]You can't beat it...Movie dialog sound is tight, crisp, and vibrant...this is a definite must buy for the budget conscious home theatre novice...i have two Bostons for my fronts and a AudioSource subwoofer and a Pioneer VSX 100 watts/channel (5-channels) receiver...the[...] amazing KLH center channel speaker stands on its own...

Nice, but there's better.
I know I probabaly shouldn't expect so much for the good deal that I got, but the MX3900D was a major disappointment.

I have had problems since day one with the sound levels while playing DVD's. When I have the radio turned on I can keep the level at about a 5 or a 6 and hear it through my whole house. For a DVD I have to turn the level to 25 or 30 to barely hear common conversations. It is also really irratating that when I put a new DVD in the changer and then select that tray that the DVD doesn't automatically start playing. Isn't that the point of the DVD menu that movie companies put on the disc?? I even went so far as calling Philips to find out about the problems and was told that these are known issues and can't be fixed.

Sorry, but I want a system that I don't have to crank all the the way so that I can hear my movie. This one went back to the store.

Everything I could have hoped for!
I received this as a Father's Day gift. My five year old son and I had it up and running in less than an hour. It needed no additional cables and we were blown away by how good it sounded. Keep in mind this is my first venture into a home theater system. I could not see spending a mortgage payment on a system with a 5 and 2 year old that would put something through a subwoofer or something.

The sound is great. Set up is easy and the price is fantastic!

Great Sound, Great Price
I bought a factory reconditioned 3950 from Overstock.com, and couldn't be happier with it. This system has some really nice features like sound that can be easily adjusted with the remote depending on where you are sitting in the room. It also has a voice enhancer feature that can be turned off/ on with the remote as well.
The sound is great for HTIB. The bass is tight, and dialogue is clear no matter what movie is playing. Considering I paid less than $200 for this system, I really don't see how the sound could be that much better in a HTIB that costs 5-10 times as much, which I saw when I was looking.
In addition to the great sound, this is a nice looking system, also. Philips is one of the few electronics companies that understands that exterior design is almost as important as sound quality.
Another reviewer mentioned the flimsy disc trays, this is true. They are very flimsy - I don't think it would take much to damage one, then you are SOL. But overall, I would definitely recommend this system to anyone who can't justify spending tons of money on a home theater setup.

Drops incoming calls
The design and features of this phone aren't bad. It seemed like a good value at the time. But having had it for a while now I've become dissappointed. The sound quality is not very good. Sound is not clear with a constant background hissing static. And the volume is low even at max volume. But the most significant problem with this phone is that it drops about 30-40% of the incoming calls when you answer them. You press the button to answer and the handset starts searching for the base unit, dropping the call. Problem exists on all my handsets. Will not buy VTech again, as I've heard others complain of same problem.

Cordless fan
I've had this phone for 1+ years with no problems. I expanded it to 4 handsets, but ultimately needed at least 5 in the house. I can make/receive calls on the handset even when I'm nearly 1,000 feet away from the house (residential neighborhood). I bought a VTech i5881 (2.4/5.88GHz) expandable w/ answer machine to go to 5 phones (5 or 6 if you count the base speakerphone). It doesn't have interference problems with the 2430, the controls are all familiar, and the i5881 can go to 6 phones. I can't imagine needing 10 phones, but between the 2430 and the i5881 I could. Other than the 4 handset limit for the 2430, I'd recommend it highly -- get the extra battery for the base so you have a spare for handsets and the base will function during power outages. BTW, my 2430 replaced a Siemens 2400 expandable. It was hopeless (bad reception, confusing controls, poor battery life when it actually did try to charge and literally 15-20 minutes when it decided (arbitrarily) to not bother charging even though the handset was in the cradle. I'd never buy another Siemens, but VTech hasn't let me down yet.

Thumbs Up.
Just hooked up my new Vtech phone and so far it's great. Nice and clear sounding and very lightweight. I love the handsfree button on the handset. (So if I'm listening to elevator music on hold, I don't have to crush my ear while waiting. I can hook it to my belt and walk around the house.) The only negative thing so far is that with 2 handsets, I had to program numbers in individually, which took forever! I added 38 numbers (so double that). But it's worth it since my old phone only allowed me 10 programmable numbers, not 50 like the VTech! (I wish there was a way to program all cell & landline phones from our own individual master list, so we wouldn't have to enter in each number and name again and again; maybe in the next generation?!) I also find the sickly-looking green display a little "dated," but I can live with it. I like the intercom button ...almost like having a walkie talkie between up & downstairs. The convenience of having two cordless phones in the house is great! And I love how they take up less space than my old phone. I took it next door with me, and the range is great, too! So I won't miss a call if I'm outside. So far I love this phone, but I just got it...I hope I'm not disappointed in the months/years to come.

Not so sound
I can't deny that the look and feel of these speakers oozes quality build, but having connected them I found the sound to be a little lack-lustre. The bass was tight and boom-free, but I felt it was a little too timid, and the midrange was lacking completely with a rather too lively sound. It's a shame as it looked so good on my desk, and while the faults all but disappeared during game play, the music reproduction through my soundblaster live was just missing the richness I was hoping for. A lot of care has gone into the design (except for the volume placement) and if your soundcard supports 4 speakers out, the connection of another two quality units certainly lifts the overall quality. I still think these are great speakers for the price, but there are more rounded options for not a lot more money.

watch out for the connections
These speakers are very surprising, they sound great and deliver good bass. However, the connections in the back have come loose, and i have to constantly jiggle the cord to get it to work ... very annoying.

Very, Very Nice Speakers
I recently bought this speaker set from Amazon and was amazed by the sound the speakers produced for the small price. Before I bought the Yamaha speakers I had a pair of JBL Pro speakers. I wasn't satisfied by the weak bass sound and went shopping and found these. The highlight of the Yamaha YSTM... is it's powerful subwoofer. The bass sound is amazing. The small satelites give off great sound in the high end, too. Don't expect these speakers to fill a living room, but they are perfect for a bedroom or study. I also found that the speakers produce better sound when plugged in to a computer and produced a weaker high end sound when plugged into a portable CD player. Maybe it's just my CD player but for some reason, the high end just isn't full. Other than that small problem, these are GREAT! speakers. I highly reccomend the Yamaha YSTMS28W and praise the low price that Amazon.com provides.

Poor fidelity and poor programming
I bought this item because I wanted a 2-line digital answering machine. I was very disappointed in the audio fidelity, but even more so in the programming. For example, both by phone, and on the face of the unit, it is not easy to erase calls. Comparing the programming to other units I've used, or your local Bell answering service, the speed of use is lacking. I don't have a suggested alternative, but I am not ready to see this is a good product.

Very pleased
I am very pleased with the Casio TA-180 2-line answering machine. The quality of the outgoing announcements and the recorded messages are very good. Set up is very simple. Playback operation is one button, what a breeze. Saving, skipping, and replaying messages is intuitive using the buttons and button labels provided. I read the directions once and never looked at them again. And the price is what I expected to pay. Another positive is that the machine does not include a bunch of ancillary features, it's a straightforward, two line answering machine. I am very pleased with the Casio TA-180 answering machine.

What would I improve? The built-in "computer" voice that guides you through the setup and announces the number of messages is stilted and not natural sounding. All in all, no big deal.

Five minutes, and it was installed!
I just had to have a 2 line answering machine, and despite the one negative review, the Casio seemed like the best bet. It arrived, and it was up and running in 5 minutes. It offered more than I expected, and the sound quality is very good.

One person said it was hard to setup and program. It's easier than a VCR, it's easier than a home computer, it's easier than most microwaves. My phone setup is kinda ugly.... the manual covered the different installation options clearly - including my unusual phone setup, and following the instructions was a snap.

All in all, I think the guy who said it was awful either didn't read the manual, or got a lemon.

Ok but mine broke
I liked the scound Quality and the volume control. The problem i had was that the twist part broke and one of the plastic parts that holds the speaker peice broke. They were in my backpack which gets beat up alot and i had them for about 6 mounths. They are probably the best headphones you can buy for 5 bucks.

Pretty good headphones.
They are good. The sound qualiy is excellent. The design is outstanding. But, don't turn them up too loud. They only go to a certain sound level. My speakers on the headphones are blasted. I'm getting new ones though. They are worth the money. Go buy them today.

Not the best for volume control ...
I bought these headphones on the spur of the moment. I was leaving for vacation and needed some cheap headphones. These headphones certainly were a bargain. Not only is the price great, but they are quite comfortable and the swiveling earphones are great when storing them. The only problem is the volume control. It is very touchy. My suggestion is to just keep it on the mid-setting and use your CD player's volume control.

Excellent for the price
These little speakers most definitely have a great sound for the price. They are compact and easy to use. The only downfall is the lack of a headphone jack which makes it quite annoying when using them with a computer. However, for gaming (as they are intended) they are amazingly superior.

Nice, cheap speakers
The Labtec Surge 17 is a good speaker set. The sound produced is very clear and doesn't distort, even at high volumes. They also come with a Y-cable making it easy to hook up to a video game console, vcr, or dvd player via standard RCA cables. However, they do leave something to be desired. First, the bass produced by the 4 inch driver is a little underwhelming. I have heard better from similarly price spearkers. Second, there is no headphone jack. Overall, a good set of speakers, but not perfect.

Awesome
Bought them last year, I enjoy every second of it :)

Nuff said :)

Disappointing sound.
I picked up this pair of small, attractive speakers the other day with high hopes. They're really nice looking and simple. But the sound quality was atrocious. We get richer bass and a less tinny overall sound out of the free speakers that came with a much (MUCH) cheaper all-in-one boom box than we did with these JBLs on a state-of-the-art Harman/Kardon receiver. I was really, really disappointed.

Best of the bunch
I spent a weekend listing to the various choices of outdoor speakers. I wanted something durable for my backyard. These fit the bill. They have solid enclosures and provide a great balanced sound. The bass is more than adequate for outdoors when driven with a good receiver (mine is a Yamaha putting out 75w/channel). If you want to crank it up some, these are the ones you want. The other outdoor speakers would have been OK for background, but lacked the fullness when turned up. THey are big, so be prepared to be creative when mounting (thus the 4 stars).

Outdoor Application
I purchased a pair of JBL N24AW's for the sole purpose of mounting them over my patio deck. Not only are they built durable enough to handle the Midwest climate, they have produced excellent sound for my application. The response on the speakers in above adequate for the outdoors. However, they are not played at a high decibel range in respect of neighbors. Although I have seen reviews stating that the bass response is weak, I am pleased with the bass reproduction on my pair.
