It's a mystery to me why some are satisfied with realistic dialog from a center channel speaker. As much as 60% of the total audio energy goes to the center channel. It should be capable of accurately reproducing the entire audible range of frequencies. This speaker does just that and does it very well, (except the very lowest - about 80 Hz or below) better than some far more expensive speakers that we auditioned at a retailer. If this speaker does not return to Amazon.com it is worth looking for elsewhere.

I can't even remember where i bought this center channel, but for the price i paid it is great. Great sound, great voices, and sure makes my dvd expereince "movie'like" aLl i need now is a sub.

When I first saw this speaker on Amazon, I thought that it was gonna be a cheap plastic speaker. But, wow was I wrong. This JBL center Channel is great. It has great reproduction of voices and music...

I've been an audio/video buff for years, and a rabid Acoustic Research fan dating back to the early '70's. So, when it was time to replace my [other speakers], I went looking for the same genre. However, after auditioning the JBL N310's I was blown away by their clarity and bass response that rivaled speakers costing much more, but delivering far less for the money. These speakers are excellent for both music and home theatre setup. I use these along with a JBL N-center speaker and a pair of N24's in the back for surround and I must say that this system roars!!! Do yourself a favor and audition these speakers before you buy anything---you'll be glad you did.

After looking a few speakers on line I finally went to china town in New York to have an audicion and let me tell u I got amazed by the quality of these babys;They really Go from high to a deep bass ,The bass is just perfect,is not a boomy bass,is clean and with the 2 10" woofers they do just the work ferfect!
I am amazed for the prices the people are paying for them...Pls do not get them if u dont have a good speaker cables.YOU may have the best speakers but if u dont have a good cables DO NOT BUY THEM!!These babys deserve the best!!

At first i was concerned with whether or not i would have to buy a pair or could i hear the JBL ND310s loud enough...Well, after i plugged em into my reciever with 250 watts flowing, i knew that i could wait for the second. These speakers will not only pound without a subwoofer, but will also fill your room with great mids and highs. Go onto crutchfield.com and try and find these speakers and you will be sadly dissapointed to find comparable ones for double the price. If you are looking for new speakers (new to the home audio scene or an expert), we can all appreciate these JBLs. Try and find a titanium tweeter speaker for less than these with the dual 10" woofers, i dont think you will anytime soon.

I owned a Kenwood 2 way basic Center Speaker and I thought it was good enough for my Home Teather needs but how wrong I was. I hesitated to buy it 'cause "it's just a speaker" I though but once you heard it, you can't never go back. The low and High sounds are perfectly translated, even in night times I don't have to turn the sub-woofer on because it's jus unnecesary, the bass of this center channel rocks the bedroom by itself.

My wife was asleep when I assembled our new home theater system. At the time, the only speakers I had was the S-Center and a subwoofer; the others were being shipped. When she woke up, she said it sounded like an orchestra was in the room.

A 3-way center channel speaker?! At last, sensibility returns to speaker design - and with a stirring aesthetic as well. The JBL S-Center delivers lower pitched material with a clarity that you won't find in most 2-way speakers, and owing to the superior quality materials used in the tweeter (and seamless blending on either side of the midrange) the higher pitched material is never shrill. I've noticed a dramatic difference in DVD movies: In the past, lower pitched material coming from my subwoofer off in a corner would distract me from the screen, but this speaker's better bass response locks the sound back onto the screen where it should be. But where this speaker truly proved itself for me was in playing a DTS music disc. In DTS music, sometimes a lead vocalist's voice is sent directly to the center channel, and there is nothing like a human singing voice to test the range and natural-ness of a speaker. This speaker passed the live-or-die test with flying colors, sounding as natural as the original recording. Depending on the recording, you could swear the singer was standing in front of you in the flesh. The only negative for me was minor: the curved cabinet design precludes one from putting books (or in my case action figures) on top of the speaker. But the curves definately help decrease the amount of room the speaker used, so I can accept this. I've heard that the copper colored cones may be a limited feature (later editions perhaps changing to silver), but mine had them. They look fantastic and tempt one to remove the dust screen.

I know I can't talk too much about religion here, but I'm gonna. I'm a Buddhist/Hindu, but I don't attend any worshipping. I grew up a Christian, so that's why I get the occasional Christmas present. Alright, last year at Christmas, I received two of these amazing speakers, and a CD from one of my favorite bands (Fear Factory). It just so happens that Fear Factory are a very brutally heavy electro-metal band, and this was a remix CD, so every track rocked extra hard. I live in a condo, so everyone else around me was just getting up. I plugged these in and whacked "Fear is the Mindkiller" on at top volume. In an instant, people were at my door complaining. I told them I'd turn it down, and I did. One notch. I played it the whole day long. My other five presents were opened the next day. One of them was another Fear Factory CD. Anytime you want to annoy your neighbors or are missing a concert in a neighboring city (that doesn't happen to me because I live in L.A.) pop something on with these speakers. I've been in many recording studios, and these speakers surpass even some of their sound by a lot. The bass is also amazing, only without too much thumping. They look pretty swanky, too.

The design is very home (or professional) theater oriented. The sound is SOOOO GOOD! I mean these guys actually make the speaker systems you go to the movies to hear movies from.

The S310s equal outstanding imaging, dynamics, and good looks. They actually look better in person than they do in the picture above and they look great in that picture! You could spend MUCH more - but why? These speakers have great bass (but never sound boomy). I bought 5 of them so I could have equal sound in my DD 5.1 / DTS home theater setup. It really has made a difference, as there is much (directional) bass and midrange coming from behind and especially from the all-important center.

CD's sound great (never harsh - just wide-open and free). Use with or sans grills they look cool either way. I've loved (and bought into) JBL's cool approach to speaker design since the 60's. They went through a couple of decades of so-so home systems. However, JBL is back in action with these speakers and they are the BEST I've ever owned. I guess I like 'em - huh?

BTW, The XBOX rocks through these gems!

I was looking for a speaker that would sound great when I was listening to music but wouldn't lack in performance when used in a home theater setting. These speakers have handled everything from Heavy Metal to Classical & from Life is Beautiful to Armaggedon and I couldn't be happier with them. If you are looking for a speaker that can handle these types of applications then look no further. Of course you could always go and spend more on speakers but at this price point there is no equal in my mind.

I have had a pair of these for several months. I bought them after comparasion with several other slightly more expensive brands and am reasonably pleased. In this price bracket JBL have tended to be somewhat "bright" sounding, but I was pleasantly surprised by how warm these units sounded compared side by side with other products. The bass is tight and not overstated or "boxy" which is often a problem with cabinets this size, and the metalic tweeter is crisp and sounds wonderful on rock tracks although is a little harsh on classical strings. For the money I think these are excellent value and well worth serious consideration.

Loud and proud. I've been using these for about a year and I've had no problems. Mached with N24IIs they make a great sound system. Although, it seems that I am the only one in the neighborhood who enjoys having them around.

I bought these speakers around June and have had them for about 5 months and after breaking them in...which didn't take long at all, these will boost whavter home theater system you have. I used them as my rears for my 5.1 system over the summer and you could hear every bullet wizzing by in the Matrix when Neo is shooting out of the hellicopter. Now in school my dorm room cant handle my full 5.1 system and ihave these as my fronts, and again, they rock. the bass is amazing. my whole floor can hear whatever i want to play...weather they like it or not. great speakers highly recomended

i just baught a pair og these babies, and let me tell you..... my nieghbors(the ones 20 miles into town) have never heard such good tunes.

I Purchased these as rear speakers to complete surround sound set.
I had no idea that they would sound sooo nice!
They have a wonderful range of response and the resolution is great! After plugging them in, I ended up routing all power just to them and listening to a full symphony from my rear speakers!
Solid as tanks and outstanding performers!

I just bought these to use as my main speakers with my Kenwood receiver. Let me tell you, these speakers sound great! I use them for both music and for Home Theater. There is NO other speakers that sound better in this price range. I've had these speakers for about 4 days, and they sound better and better every day. These little speakers even have great bass! Once I save up enough money I'm going to buy the JBL S38's and move the S26's to the surrounds. You need to buy these speakers!
