If you are not looking for a top-end system but still want to shake the house a bit and play music how it was meant to sound, than this is the right speaker system for you. Creative makes high-quality products at a very affordable price. Believe me-this is affordable as far as speakers go. The 2.1 speakers are relatively simple to install and do not have wires draping all over your desk as I see in many other speaker systems. These speakers will be best appreciated if you have a decent sound card that supports surround sound. While you may not think that 2.1 is a "real" surround experience, these speakers may change your mind. I also have a 4.1 Altec Lansing system that cost twice as much but still doesn't sound as good as this system. The only set back of this system is that I experienced some problems with windows XP and it didn't dectect it. I had to reinstall my audigy twice which was a major pain. Other than that (and that you won't get super saver shipping) this product is a plus.

Really.. just got my speakers today. If you got a small room/hall and want to fill it with sound, especially BASS.. this system rocks :) The subwoofer rocks my table even at low volumes.. Not great if u want to use this for big parties and stuff.. but great if u wanna have fun watching movies, listening to music, etc... (and especially feel the BASS) And given the price, the sound is awesome...

So, my advice. if you're looking for something good and afforable, these are the systems for u...

I purchased these in companion with the Daewoo plasma TV & for the $120+ship price from Target, these have been a virtual steal for the price. They deliver surround-sound quality with no distortion at upper-end volume. At their low wattage, they don't deliver the booming power of a complete home theater system, but they are a substantial value at this price. I have not been disappointed.

The iFire allows you to use the popular Apple Pro speakers with iBooks, iPods, and lots others.

Simple to use. There's no manual or instructions needed. Just plug it in.

It does the job nicely. I can use the Apple Pro speakers with my iBook. And the iFire --with its simple, white deign-- fits in nicely with the iBook and speakers.

After searching and searching for a stereo.... I finally found one. It's Harmon/Kardon and I would have to say it is one of the better systems out there. The sound is great and works beatifully...I dont know what it is that I would do with out this system!

The first thing to do is to remember you are buying a speaker system that is ($$$) dollars. This is a good amount of money for most, but in the world of audio this is nothing. So you will have varying people saying varying things about this system. I am a novice however I took shopping for a speaker system very seriously. I went to all the electronic chains (Circuit City, Best Buy, Audio King, Sears) in the area and in this price range this system blew away the competition. The only one that came close was the speaker system with the Onkyo HT-650. However, its speakers where huge and we wanted speakers that would not stand out.

The thing to know about this system is that you are getting a great sub, which is a good building block for any system. The center channel and the satellites are good as well, but not as clean and crisp as the Bose and other higher end speakers. Still, we listen to a wide variety of music and we enjoy listening to it all. We have never had a good sound system so ever time we listen to a CD its like listening to it for the first time. Plus, it plays movies great.

If you can't afford the higher end like us, then this is a great system to give a chance. We are very pleased with our decision.

One last tip, is that if you are looking for more reviews, check out the HKTS 5. This is the previous model made by Harman Kardon and according to them these speakers are the exact same, they have just upgraded the speaker wire and attachments.

I am very pleased with this purchase. However, I have found some things I don't like about this system:
1) The designers obviously weren't concerned about style when making these.
2) The subwoofer admits a humming noise that can be annoying if no other sounds are around
3) You cannot remove the metal grills
4) You can only mount these speakers using the brackets they come with, they also cannot move vertically.

For the value, these speakers are amazing; of course you could spend the extra cash and purchase a serious system.

I think for the price, this is the best floor speaker you can get. I would reccommend it to everyone, buy it while its still hot!!!

Having worked on and off in the sound reinforcement industry for over 20 years I love the punchy brightness that horn loaded speaker systems can provide. This led me to evaluate the HLS series when I was forced to leave my existing system behind on moving to the USA.

The HLS615 in an exceptionally good sounding speaker. Not only does the horn system add that directional punch, but the midrange is rich and warm as well. These speakers are ported on the back and deserve to be placed at least 3 feet in front of a wall to maximise bass response.

Overall a great speaker for the price, either for audio or home theatre applications.

JBL must have learned a few things after producing a fine 250 watt speaker. It sounds great and compares very well with most speakers in its price range. JBL found the answer with a better equipped speaker well with-in the buyers price range, yet
having stronger and better capabilities...the JBL S312 Studio Series model. The S310 II BE has a 10" woofer, they decided to upgrade thier product to an outstanding level of sound quality.
