Speakers are installed under an eaves in my backyard. Good bass in a large area and clear sound out to 50 feet.

Wonderful clarity and really elegant sound and style in beautiful boxes. That said, you still need a sub (although the bass is good) to polish off the sound. By the time you do that and put the speakers on stands (heavy for their size)and adjust them and/or the stands to find the best angle for your favorite listening place, you start wondering why you didn't just buy floor speakers. In my case, I move around the world a lot and they are quality and small enough to ship in my air freight and the sub can come later. Still......

What can one say about a subwoofer? None of them are very pretty. They just sit there and go KA-BOOM. We often try to hide them behind a potted tree or under a table. But, oh boy, they add so much to your music that you will drag out all your old CD's and play them again with renewed fervor. Polk's PSW202 subwoffer has a small footprint, a small price tag and a big bass sound. Unless you want to start an earthquake - it's an excellent choice. You won't be disappointed.

The Polk Rm6200 Home Theater package can stand alone but matched

My budget was tight so I decided to go with bottom-of-the-line models from high end brands. As such I ended up selecting a Denon AVR-1602 amplifier and the Polk RM-6000 speakers. I was reluctant at first to use satellite speakers in the front due to the potential to lose a lot of midrange, but in the end that didn't happen.

What I discovered, though, is that proper speaker placement and aiming is absolutely crucial with this set. I had casually placed the speakers around the room for a quick sound check, and they sounded like .... I thought I was going to be disappointed, but I mounted them anyway. I put them on ceiling brackets in the four corners of the room, and aimed them more or less towards the center. At this point they sounded very good. Crisp highs, clear midrange, and powerful bass.

Polk calls the RM-6000 an "entry level" speaker system, but it's certainly not a compromise on quality. If I had a larger room I might need some larger speakers, but as it is I'm quite satisfied with this setup and I would certainly recommend it to anyone looking for an affordable set of surround sound speakers for a small to mid size room.

Don't be fooled by the photo! This system DOES NOT COME WITH A SUBWOOFER! My system came from Circuit City, so when it arrived, sans subwoofer, I went to my local store to complain. They had an in-store special, offering a free 202 subwoofer with any Polk speaker purchase of $499 or more, so I had to re-purchase the system, and get the subwoofer. This took 2 hours. So I wasted money on shipping, since neither Circuit City or Amazon would take responsibilty for the misleading photo.

Anyway, the speakers are great. Polk makes good stuff.
A bit pricey if you don't get the free subwoofer.
Good for music or movies.

This clock is great for waking up with. It features Great speakers, alarm clock, AM/FM radio, weather center, and backlit light that changes color according to the temperture. It is great. The weather center is a first glance weather report. very cool. The clock talks, telling the time and weather. Even better, it has a radio. The weather center is good, But if you just want a in-depth radio report, get the $200. But, overall, this clock is great if you want to wake up with a quick weather report. comes with the base unit, and the transmitter for getting weather information.

I use this speaker system on my PC connected to a Yamaha RP-U200 CAVIT External Audio Receiver. The speakers are small and the sound quality is good for DVD playback, games, etc. on a PC. (These are not active speakers, you will need a receiver to power them). The system came with all of the necessary cable to hook it up, and floor stands are available seperately from Sony for the speakers. The subwoofer is fairly large and heavy, and has enough of power. I have vast audio knowledge and thought I made the best decision with this speaker package for regular audio and DVD.
For the first time in my life I have the true goose bumps that Bose and all the other fakes promise, every time I power up my Dennon Flagship.
The drawback is a serious one though, three blown speakers to date.
They just disapear one day without abuse.
Sony was happy to repair the first I sent back for twice what it cost.
So I'm forced to keep replacing them at$150 a pop.

There are no speakers equal though in clarity.
So just be carefull when playing the music loud.

This is a great mid-range sound system. I was told at both the Sony store, and other places I looked both online and offline that this is one of the best speaker systems for under $1000. Make sure you have a receiver with at least 5 channels, and 100 watts per channel, or you won't take advantage of this system. When comparing, it's also important to note that this comes with a powered sub-woofer (which is better than non-powered), and 5 other small speakers. You'll probably also need to buy speaker stands and or wall mounts, but this only helps to create a more perfect surround effect.
