JBL has been the world leading speaker manufacturer for a prolong time. This particular model is one of JBL mid-cost home theater speaker system. 2 front; 1 center; 2 rear; and a subwoofer that "out-booms the rest. The dome tweeters are made of tuff titanium-laminate and can handle power of 100W per speakers. The subwoofer consist of an 8" speaker with a bass-reflect box which in turns produces a tight bass sound. The appearance is small, sleek and durable. Comes complete with all hardwares for mounting the speakers and speaker wires.

I for one highly recommend Monster Cable for your wiring. You have paid for a best speaker system. Make sure it has the best cables that will bring this system alive.

I too was pleasantly surprised by the sound quality of this speaker system. The four satellites are really tiny (like 6 inches high)so a previous reviewer suggested, this system would probably NOT work too well in a large room. The sub-woofer is also compact and brings out the bass lines nicely. I hooked mine up to some Pioneer audio equipment and a Sony TV. Can't go wrong for the price.

I'm really impressed with this speaker package.The satellites are crisp and clean. The powered subwoffer really packs a punch. I wouldn't recommend these speakers if you have a large room,but for a smaller room or apartment,they are great.My home theater set-up includes the following: Yamaha HTR-5440, Toshiba 1402 DVD, Pioneer D504 Laserdisc, Mitsubishi U760 S-VHS VCR.

I originally bought this system right after it was released from KLH Audio. I compared numerous systems and found this to be the best for the money. This includes almost everything you need and for a fantastic price. I have made an arrangement with a few companies and have begun selling these units. Check for them here on Amazon ... Pros: Awsome speakers, Low price, 120W powered sub, wires included, a company you can trust, and the gates to a whole 'nother world.

Cons: Doesn't come with sub hook-up, std wires aren't your best choice, so cheap you're afraid to buy them. BUT YOU SHOULD! THEY RULE!!!!!

KLH has done it again! I had A sucky sound system in my room (2 very old, sucky Realistic speakers and a decent Infinity center speaker. It had an extremely old reciver hooked up to it.)So ever since I got my Dad's old reciver, (which wasn't very old he just wanted all the new technology since he got a progressive scan DVD player.) I needed new speakers. Though with only 200 bucks to spend, I was in a rut. I wanted full surround sound and a sub. After much research, I had several ideas, but the complete set KLH set seemed to be perfect for me. And sure enough it is! The sattilites are clear and precise and sound great alone, but the sub really makes up for the small speaker bass. This set even includes the wires for the speakers, though is lacking a sub plug. I hooked my front sattilites up through the sub. But with the right reciver, these speakers rock. Litteraly. Hooked up to my PS2, I have ultamite entertainment. I mooved to gaming councles after both our computer started messing up and do only the bare essentials. So that is where I spend my time. And when I compare my setup to my Dad's which cost more than 3 times the amount, just for the speakers, It's a close match. But he has a few advantages. :)
Bottom line: in this price range, nothing can compare to the capabilities of these KLH surrounders

I wanted a home theater speaker system but didn't want to spend alot of money. I am very glad I purchased this system. I compared these speakers with many others and they sounded as good as any I listened too. If you want a great system without paying big bucks for it, then these speakers are for you. I cannot think of anything to complain about and I plan on purchasing another set for a second TV room in the near future.

These speakers are definitely worth the money. you don't have to buy batteries, and the sound is great! clear, crisp, and pretty loud. depending on what your discman, mp3, etc. can pump out. my discman is a panasonic so i can used the AC adapter for the discman OR the speakers. might work for other brands, but i'm not sure. plus if even if you have no batteries in the speakers, you can run sound out of them directly. you will not have the luxury of the 1-watt amp. but you will still be able to hear music...and that's what's important right? great for a small room, dorm, or office. plus they look nice as well.

I was reluctant to purchase this at first. The speakers are small and inexpensive -- it can't be that great, I thought. But when they arrived, I was pleasantly surprised. A friend and I hooked them up to my Discman right away and gave them a try... nice, full, rich sound (considering how compact the size is). If you close your eyes, you'll swear the speakers are larger.

Great, inexpensive option for a bedroom, dorm room, office, etc. And if you use the enclosed AC adapter, you don't have to worry about buying batteries.

These are amazing little speakers! The sound quality given their size is outstanding. I bought these speakers for my daughter's mp3 player. She wanted a way to listen to her music without having to use her headphones. When we plugged them in we were blown away with the quality and richness of the sound that these speakers produced. In fact everyone who has heard them has had the same reaction. "WOW what kind of speakers are those?", "Where did you get them?", "Who much do they cost?" If your thinking of buying mini speaker for your cd player, mp3 player or other portable music device these are it! In fact I just bought two more pairs, one pair for my office at work and one pair for my office at home.

I've hooked them up with a Harman Kardon AVR15 Dolby Pro Logic receiver, Pioneer DVD player, and finally added additional Wharfedale WH2 Dipoles & WH2 Centre about 6 months back. No Sub-woofer. All connections are Monster Cables. I usually like good bass in a system, but have been so satisfied with the deep, warm, natural sound of the speakers that I decided to forego the sub-woofer, even though the AT200s don't have hard-hitting bass. The soundstaging & ambient details are clean & accurate. These speakers, though quite inexpensive, handle most frequencies fed to them effortlessly, never sounding pressurized at any stage. Recommend them anytime.

The sound of these speakers is very accurate, but a little lacking in midrange for me. Jazz lovers would like these speakers for how smooth and accurate they sound, and rock listeners would love them cause they're loud and sound great. The only drawback is that these speakers are made to sound accurate, not loaded with bass to shake the floor. But paired with a subwoofer the results are outstanding, even just a small one to reveal the deeper bass. These speakers keep getting louder and louder and sound better with high volumes. All in all I think these speakers are perfect and more people should check out this brand. They make some of the best stuff, and this is their lowest line of speakers, but has some of the technology of their more pricy speakers and it shows. Great buy and worth much more than the price here.

Well I've never heard much of wharfedale before so read up on them and found they were excellent quality. And this might be part of their lower line of speakers, but they suprised me. They're plenty loud, sound great. Have a lot of bass, though not enough for bass heads. Can't really think of anything bad about these speakers, you might want a sub if you like a lot of bass. I have a sub hooked up with my system, and I don't even use it any more unless watching movies. They do need some breaking in before they'll sound their best. Usually about 50 hours. It'll make a big difference. All in all these speakers are perfect.

Though they tend to sound only average with the volume turned down, crank 'em up a bit and these speakers sound as crisp and clean as anything out there. When the drummer starts playing a little high hat, and the accustic guitar kicks in, you'll think the musicians are in the room with you. Truely fantastic.

These speakers sound better (at least to me and my wife) than ones we had showroom-tested that cost twice as much. They actually cost less than my last set and sound significantly better. While not in the class of $2,000 speakers, the Wharfdales are exceptionally good and should meet the needs of all but the most discerning listeners. (And you have to be under 30 to fit that category.) After then, your hearing discrimination starts to go.) This may be the best value out there.

Wasn't familiar with the Wharfedale speaker until I came across it on this site. With further investigation, I decided to give them a try without ever hearing them!!!!!! I was amazed at how tired my 15 year old Advent Legacy speakers sounded,which incidentally were the same price as these speakers. Crisp, clean, and with sufficient bass. These are serious speakers at a ridiculously low price!!! Would highly recommend to anyone. They look and sound as if I paid thousands!!!!!!!!!!

I'm not the world's leading authority on powered speakers, but these are pretty darned good for close-up listening--that is, if you are using them as computer speakers. The sound has a lot of body and "dimensionality" (for lack of a better word). They are a little wimpy if you are trying to fill a room with sound, but even for that, they are tolerable.

Convenient to set up and use, and nice design. Only possible drawback in this regard is that they are not designed to be hung or mounted--only freestanding.

I have tried many speaker systems with my computer, including many that were quite a bit more expensive, but have always returned to the Logitech Soundman X1. The speakers give very good stereo presence and clarity in a very small package. This system is also very good for individuals who do not have a lot of room on their desktops.

First of all excuse for my english. I just got the Logitech SoundMan X1. It's incredible. The sound of guitar and bass are astonishing. This is my favorite gift from all i receive for christmas. If you like blues, go buy this system.

I have the original Monsoon system at work, (came bundled with pc) and decided to bite the bullet and upgrade my home system to them. I was using Yamaha YSTM-10's that are were very good and natural sounding but had no bottom omph. The planars are a bit different but in a good way. They are very airy, like a set of electrostatic speakers. The 100w sub is really rounds out the bottom end. It will take a bit of tweaking with any equalizer controls you might have to get the best but it will be worth it. The only drawback you will have is that it will bring out the poor recording quality any music you have has. For gaming, who cares just as long as it's loud and has a lot deep bass, which this system has but if you listen to cd's, mp3's, etc, then be prepared to be adjusting the base control. I downloaded "Hey Ya!" by Outkast directly off a paysite in wma format and was disappointed by how poor a recording it was. My Yamaha's covered it up but the Planar's exposed it so dramatically that I regret listening to it anymore. The system is colored black with the satellites thin and facing flat at you. The sub sits beneath the desk. Though not as good as the originals, they are also half the price. I got mine at circuit city for $60 - a steal and I think they screwed up the pricing!

Coming from a true audiophile, I must say that this system is the very best you can attain in its price range. The clarity is remarkable, and the power is astounding. You will truly not be disappointed in the least.

Strengths
Smooth, natural mids and treble. Lack of colouration and cabinet resonances. Imaging and soundstaging. Mini control pod allows you to adjust volume and sub level from your desk. Value.

Weaknesses
Frequency response of satellites are a little rolled off at the bottom end (200-250 Hz) and high end (10-16 kHz)

Review
Let's not mince words. This is one of the best PC speakers available on the market. Period. It needs a little tweaking with a parametric EQ to get the best out of them, but you will be rewarded for your efforts. I have the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1's and I would put these in the same class with them -- i.e., head and shoulders above the rest of the that's out there. The only other PC speaker that can beat these two is the Videologic Sirocco Pro's, but that's around $600 CDN and they're very hard to find in Canada. But honestly, if you're going to spend $600, hook up your PC to a real stereo instead.

Frequency Reponse: With a little EQ using a parametric EQ (+6 dB from 32-43 Hz, -3 dB from 80-160 Hz, +2 dB from 200-250 Hz, and +2 dB from 10-16 kHz), you have a system that is very smooth and natural, especially in the crucial midrange region. As with all subs, placing the sub under the desk causes the mid-bass to be a little boomy. Fix with EQ.

Driver and Cabinet Resonances: Voices and instruments are natural due to much less driver and cabinet resonance than other PC speakers.

Imaging and Soundstaging: Very good when you place the speakers close to you (do not put them at the back of your desk close to the wall) and angle them in.

Note: If you can't afford the PM-14's, the PM-9's use the exact same satellites but a smaller sub. I would avoid the PM-7, however, because it uses a very small sub that just doesn't cut it.

The previous review that mentions antennas are key to a good CB setup is correct. For a normal CB user I would recommend either the Wilson lil' Wil or the Wilson 500 antenna. Both are magnetic mount antennas. The lil' Wil antenna is a relatively small antenna and it's only around $39.00. Actually any Wilson CB antenna will be fine. Also, to do a good job at setting up your antenna you should purchase an SWR meter. They are not expensive. You only need the meter connected inline between the radio and antenna when you are adjusting the antenna. Once you are done adjusting the antenna you can take the meter out of the connection and connect the antenna directly to the radio. Don't be fooled by cheap ordinary CB antennas like you will find at radio shack. Do not settle for anything less then a Wilson antenna. Cobra and Uniden both make fabulous CB radios so either make will be fine.

Bought this CB about a month ago. Works like a dream and buries anything else I've tried. Bought an antenna that picks up weather-band to go with it, reception is crystal clear and weather-band comes in just as well. Looking for a good all around radio? This is the one to buy!

This is a awsome Bye. The front facing speeker is the best part. It is a vary durable cb vary easy to use and small enough to fit in any car with out taking up a lot of space. The Black face alows it to blend with any color. Thank you and God Bless
