Looking for replacements
Really Quite GoodAs opposed to some of the reviewers, I have had no difficulty adjusting the frequency. I have very occasional static interference but for the most part this is a non issue. In essence, I use them in an urban environment on one floor of a brownstone here in Brooklyn so I cannot say how they might operate in your neighborhhood. I have them set for mono as this this tends to minimize whatever small amount of interference there may have been. This has a slight effect on frequency response but it is not major.
Please note that the fidelity is quite good but it is NOT audiophile quality so it is probably good to take that into account. All in all, I very good product.

Chuckling at the positive reviews! The humorous part is how the pro-Bose lobby of 'suckers' stuck with a poorly designed product call others 'bourgeois'. Apparently electrical engineering concepts are 'bourgeois'. You, there, pointing out the Yugo's poor engine construction- you're 'bourgeois'. Hey you over there, claiming the earth is round- you're 'bourgeois'.
Then there are the other sad twits who claim that anyone try to sell you a product other than Bose is attempt to get several times more dollars out of your pocket. They betray their own ignorance of the marketplace filled with speakers similarly priced to Bose with much higher quality build and performance.
Save yourself the grief and spend the same amount of money on Polk, Klipsch, Infinity, Wharfedale or JBL. Or just throw your money away like a sucker.
I'm sick of the Bose Bashing...
Don't listen to Bose products...Buy Bose and see for yourself. You can always return them if you don't like them.

In defense of subs everywhereYour subwoofer was only doing what it was built to do when it gave out these booming, often muddy, low tones. There is nothing wrong with your sub, what you need is an equalizer if you don't like that sound quality. You need good speakers for the higher frequency to give you the nice clear tones to complete a good overall sound, and tone down the levels on the subwoofer to eliminate that muddy sound, but keeping the bass nice and solid.
My suggestion then would be an audio reciever with an equalizer.
Very good productvery impressed with it. I am using it with onkyo products and it seems to give good bass response during movies going down as low as 22hertz. The amp on back reading 335watts if that helps you. Box looks good no complaints thier sure of that. The only thing that you might not like is the neighbors complaining. Well hope this helped you out i think it is a great deal if you are looking for some serious bass.

very slow
Fantastic HTIBThe surround sound is fantastic with this system. With each channel at 100w and an ACTIVE (this is important) 150w subwoofer I don't see how anyone could complain about the sound.
A third point about this system is its asthetics. It looks beautiful in any living room and the floor standing speakers look REALLY nice. Sure I suppose you're paying a bit for the Sony name and the looks, but if you can have those 2 things with great sound and functionality then why not spend a little more and never have any regrets. I know I won't.
I great complete AV system! The 5.1 system and the integrated Dolby, DTS and Cinema/Hall/Game Effects are great edition. You feel like you are in a theater!
Lastly SACD, Super Audio is the new digital format (DVD-A) work as well in the player, I prefer SACD yet this special CD's are recorded not in 2 channels but in true 5.1! I just started my collection and SACD are sonically superior to CD's and some are in surround sound.
This player is a true universal player and the system is a GREAT buy!!!

Just too small
ummmmmmmmm
niceThe moment i hooked them up, i was amazed at the quality of the sound from such a small set of speakers. Of course these are no bose, but for the price they are great. I paid 90 bucks for the set, and im impressed. They have great highs and mids, but are missing the bass, but that was why it came with a sub. The subwoofer really helps bring out the bass, and i think is a nessisity.
For the price, you can't go wrong.

- 150-watt amplifier
- 8-inch driver
- Variable crossover
- 0/180-degree phase switch

Just plain bad soundWell, I've learned my lesson, because these speakers sound even worse then my old pair. The base is overpowering and has an artificial pitch. Don't think that just turning the base down will help either; all you hear then is the loud hum it makes.
The sound range says it is from 35hz - 20000hz, and that may be true. However, it sounds like the satellites are only 10000hz-20000hz and the subwoofer is 35hz-1000hz.
I think you should stay away from any Cyber Acoustic PC speakers. They sound terrible; it's as simple as that.
Worthy for the price paidI think it is worth the dollars i paid for...
good speaker for the pricethe sound is clean, crisp, wide. loud enough for gaming and casual listening (mp3, cds...). base is good too. no earjack though.
for the price i paid ~20, its a good buy.

Not enough Bass
Great for my office
Desktop mini-stereo SC-EN7PLUS
--Nice looking 3+ people came by and admired it.
--I use headphones almost exclusively and sound was fine (I haven't used speakers yet).
--Line in capabilities
--FM reception is decent (of course this is affected by how much interference around the player).
--Reasonably small footprint.
--AC adaptor--I love not having to keep changing batteries the way I used to with my MP3 players.
--MP3 capable--even displays MP3/ID3 tag info and handles folders.
--Affordable
MINUS
--Headphone jack is in back (inconvenient)
--Sliding door access to CD player is a little awkward
--If you lose the remote you lose some functionality not available on the player.
--No random play feature
