I like them, the fit pretty well, sound quality is very good, though I would expect higher from Altec Lansing. Still by far the best in it's price range.

I ordered these and I am so happy with them. They sound better than what came with the cassette player and are sooooooooo comfortable that I almost forget I'm wearing them (they stay in place while exercising). At this price you can't go wrong. I'm getting a second pair.

I am a research and development engineer for CTI / (computer and telephone) call center technologies.

I purchased the stereophones because of their low price and usefulness of noise cancel technology for use with cross-talk on an operations floor in an office environment.

The noise cancel seems to work well for the price. The bass response is absolutely the best I've heard for a pair of headphones under $100. Clarity is excellent.

If you can get over the EXTREME discomfort. The plastic bracket around the back provides pressure against my outer ear cartilage. Of the test subjects from the pool of 100 employees, have confirmed this issue.

Most of what I found is that the bass response is so impressive; it's worth putting up with the irritation. However, after long periods of time this pain can irritate.

The stereophones themselves are excellent, but the bracket that holds them to your head is very poor design. Also, does not make a complete airtight seal around your ear, which can also provide some outside noise interference.

I called KOSS and spoke with JESSICA from marketing 5-14-2004, 12:00 EST. Her response is that this design was not a mistake. She had no excuse and assured me this is the way it is. I could not get very many words from her in regards to answers. I was told these are a "STREET LEVEL" series product - and that the way it is. She did explain a new product from koss is currently in production to be released to the open market within the month.

I would like to see the same set of stereophones released with a different bracket that is away from my ears.

There is a weird sensation of what I can only explain as being underwater, or being inside of a custom-fitted car with super-loud bass amplified subwoofers w/ the windows up. The pressure of the sound created from the bass of the stereophones in my ears causes some type of unusual feeling inside the cavity of my ears. You may need to be aware of this sensation, especially if you intend your children to use the KOSS QZ50 STEREOPHONES.

I will be conducting a series of tests with a professional otologist, in an attempt to resolve my concern for health issues in the internal ear. I would not want to have someone close to me suffer from painful side-effects from long-term use of a product which has engineering issues.

I was very disappointed with the Koss QZ50. They do not fit on the head very well, and the noise cancellation is very slight. The sound quality is good, but not exceptional. I would suggest looking for another option.

This was an impulse buy because they were being liquidated at a local store and so I got them for half the Amazon price. But after hearing them I have to say that the sound is amazing even if they were full retail. I also own the Bose noise canceling headset which sells for $300 and they are incredible at disposing background noise; much more so than these QZ50's. That being said, I really think the actual sound reproduction is similar, which is unbelievable since the Bose cost almost 10 times as much. I don't use the Bose headset unless I am sitting in one place since it has a very inconvenient two square inch box on the cord that holds the battery and the on/off switch which would just hang like an anchor if you were walking or moving around. The over-the-ear design of the Koss seemed like they would be uncomfortable, but after wearing them for an hour or more at a time, I almost forget that they are there. The sound reproduction is clear, smooth and consistent. I think they are incredible for the price and would highly recommend them.

I've only had these speakers for 6 months and the subwoofer has already stopped working. These speakers are cheap but they are also flimsy and have poor workmanship. Spend the few extra bucks and get something better.

The sound quality isn't great but I didn't expect much for 9 dollars, or whatever. One thing though, the speakers are supposed to be black, it even says black on the box, but they're off white-ish grey. Oh well. Not terrible, overall.

I bought this speaker system a year ago and now it still works fine! The sound quality isn't that bad as some previous reviews stated. On the contrary, high is clear and bass is decent, mid-range is not that vivid though. But, wait, what do you expect for such a tiny little system. It's sylish as well IMHO. I really enjoy it. (...)

I have a pair of Technics SB-SL501's that use the same type of drivers and such. The woofers themselves won't take much and I have already blown one out and I have pushed the other one woofer to hard and that resulted in damage to the woofer. The voice coil got seperated!! I don't like the overload protection on the tweeters and midranges, try and crank out Linkin Park and they go out. I find these speakers to be difficult and junky and to top it all off!! .... On the other hand Technics makes the best unbeatable turntables in the world but their speakers could use some more upgrading.

the first thing i ask myself when i see something low cost is: "what's wrong with it?". My brother bought a pair of these and they sound pretty darn nice. i figured he spent around $400 on them. they have a nice bass output even when hooked up on the newer recievers. the tweeters also sound quite nice. so far i havent found anything wrong with them except that they can get scratched semi easily and that if you have to replace any of the drivers it would be a major pain

Alright, here's the deal. I purchased these speakers about 2 months ago, and though I would check out Amazon to see what other people thought. To my surprize, 3 out of 3 don't like them. I think they ROCK! Maybe if you're listening to Tchaikovsky or Beathoven, they don't hit the high notes as well as some...speakers, but for cranking up Metallica, AC/DC, Alice in Chains, or anything else written after 1960, THESE THINGS ROCK THE HOUSE! Just check out those woofers. You really can't go wrong!

The sound is pretty good. I use it for my projector and it will be loud enough to fill a room with sound 35x35 feet. Don't expect much bass though unless you turn down the volume. It can run 35 hours on battery which I think is really good. The reason for the 4 stars is becuase of the case it comes with which is a cheap material, it only protects scratches.

I never watch TV at home. As soon as I get into a hotel room, however, I immediately switch the TV on. When I travel with these speakers and an MP3 player or laptop, however, I set up some background music and don't waste my life watching the Weather Channel. I've had mine on the road for more than 70 traveling days and in checked soft-ish airline bags for perhaps 10 flights. So far they are still working well.

At this weight you can't expect an authentic reproduction of a 9' Steinway grand piano. But these are vastly better and louder than the speakers built into laptop computers.

These speakers were quite surprising at first listen. For the miniature size (and they are small) these speakers really put out a nice loud sound. Almost unbelievable. These speakers will work best as sound for a ONE ROOM environment. Don't plan on replacing your home stereo. The main complaint from most users is that the speakers distort under high volumes. You can't expect home stereo sound from a tiny unit like this. But, believe me, the sound is more than adequate for travel purposes. For example, these are perfect for a hotel room or a nice sound source during a day on the beach. They are MORE than adequate for those types of applications. Don't buy these speakers with the intent that they will serve as at-home computer speakers. These things are fantastic for the road and best of the best in travel speakers. However, sometimes people can expect more than is technically feasible. Considering the size and price, these speakers ROCK!

Unlike AKG or Sennheiser and other high-end manufacturers, Bose uses cheaper parts and less than average electrical engineering principals. These are highlighted especially in their speakers. Their principle of direct-reflection, while novel in 1969 is now incredibally antiquated and is far surpassed by high and mid-end manufacturers whose products outperform Bose. The company was so humiliated by Consumer Reports who compared Bose with other products that it sued (and lost).

Someone once said "There's a sucker born every minute". Now that's appropriate.

took three hourz for hook ups, but then we set up, and put to stereo reciever. Big reciever sony one. play star wars movie and very loud, sounded vary good. Wanted louder, so we put louder. movie very fun movie .cool speakers, very cool! we put reciever to full blast maximum power but then get too loud and could not find remote-i lost remote in dark -could not turn down volume and volume knob was brokens .then big bang! and then we gets loud static speaker was static and the rest gots broken buts one

very angry why did they break? pawn store man says you can play full blasts and wont breaks!!! i loved my speakers and then now they's gone. gone to garbage. only have one of the five workings-kept one. very angry. now movies sound bad, only one speaker left. cannot fix-

I connected the Bose Acoustimass 5 with an onkyo tx-8511 receiver and the sound is incrediable. It really fills my entire loft area with lifelike sound. Definately a great speaker!

The speaker looks okay, but the volume is so low and un-ajustable!!! Plus, You need to buy an extra AC adpater (or batteries). Considering how much shipping fee you pay, a $ some speaker from a local store is much better than this. Like another victim, I am gona keep it as a toy for my son.

actually, this speaker is same as SRS-A21 (old version, with paper dome)
though it's not as good as SRS-Z500(!!!), this is excellent for the price
SRS-A27, on the other hand, NEVER BUY IT, PERIOD, the sound is just better than noise!!! NO BASS AT ALL!!!
if you planning to buy SRS-A27, you should check this first

These computer speakers are ok they were cheap, you get what you pay for.The Sony name is what caught my eye and I thought they would sit well for my computer but they are a bit ackward.

I thought I would give KLH a try based on several reviews that this company made good gear. This was a big disappointment. These speakers have nothing - they sound like tin cans. Now you could say you get what you pay for, but I honestly cannot find anything nice to say about them. They have no bass, the midrange is muddy - seems like a few octaves are simply missing, and the highs are loud, but not crisp. The subwoofer is somewhat decent, but its not really 50 watts. It is 25 watts RMS, 50 watt peak. RMS should be the only rating you look at, as it is a more standardized measure of power. I returned mine to the store

DO NOT BUY if you dont have an amp AND a reciever. first of all, the speakers are puny. Next you need an amp to get 100WATTS as advertised. Wait theres much more, You need a reciever too. And last but not least, this item is refurbished! - which was NOT advertised as you can see.

Having received a DVD player for Christmas I then needed to experience the surround sound, so I researched speaker systems. While I am not an audio afficianado, I do like good sound and I don't believe you have to pay through the nose for it. so when I saw this unit I did further research about the company. I went to their website, read what their business motto("producing superior high fidelity loudspeakers at extremely affordable prices")and read all the reviews I could find. Everything I read was positive so I bought a set.

I am very glad I did. They are quality built and the sound was more than I expected, even without a seperate subwoofer connection on the reciever. I would definitely buy another product made by KLH.
