The speaker mic does not match the quality of the other Cobra gear I have. It feels lightly built. It functions but the mic pick up only functions when you basicly eat the mic. With it on your lapel it does not pick up a normal conversation.

it works great, as long as you speak directly into it, which is not that hard to do. I would definitly recommend it.

For $18.99 I didn't expect audiophile quality but the master speaker was dead out of the box. The slave speaker worked for a couple of minutes and then nothing but buzz. Let the buyer beware.

I figured that you only get [junk] for work but these turned out to be very good speakers - especially for a small office. Work fine. Easy to hook up and lasted for a few years with good performance already. If you're not looking to rock the house with your PC speakers...these are a great deal. Reccommend.

Never mind everything that I said below. They died after 1yr. They weren't such a good value after all.

I had some 11W (each) Labtec computer speakers that cost a fortune ($130 dollars) in 1997. When the power supply died on them a couple of weeks ago, I discovered that there was nothing comparable on the market anymore. The old speakers were not just more powerful than today's computer speakers, but they had a half-dozen extra functions easily accessible from the front panel. Additionally, experiments with the demos at [local stores] had convinced me that most computer speakers that cost less than $200 were in the same class: garbage.

So it was with some dread that I ordered these cheap speakers, even though they come highly recommended. Still, I needed something and I figured that I could upgrade later when I had more discretionary cash.

The tiny 5W satellite speaker are actually quite responsive and at times the fidelity approaches that of the 50W JBLs on my home stereo. They are more than sufficient at the volumes that I usually kick out at, but THEY DO sometimes CRACKLE ON BASS when I crank them up.

The 15W subwoofer is powerful. It was hard to find the right position for it. This problem was compounded by the fact that the subwoofer is NOT SHIELDED and therefore can't sit behind your monitor on a desk. Without a balance control for the subwoofer, you are better off with it under a desk anyway.

I miss having the level of control that my old Labtec speakers provided, but the quality of sound out of these things makes up for a lot. They are better than the comparably-priced Creative Labs speakers and easily match the $100 dollar Harmans in sound quality (although the Harman/JBL Creatures have the benefit of shielded subwoofers).

I will move to better speakers later. I want something with at least 5.1 and digital i/o -- when I have the cash. In the meantime, the Pulse speakers are better than one can reasonably expect for the price.

In brief: These things won't match $250 THX certified speakers, but they do give you value for your money. They aren't good enough to crank up for a house party, but they will fill a small apartment or bedroom pretty well.

Yeah, this little speaker set doesn't look like much, but they are truly amazing! Typically you can find these little gems online ... The sub puts out the perfect amount of bass and the satellites are crisp and clean. My friends were all very amazed that such small speakers (at such a cheap price) could produce such rich, wonderful sound. I don't think there is a another speaker set out there (in this class) that beats the Labtec Pulse in terms of sound and value for your dollar. If you are looking for an upgrade to the speakers that came with your computer, but you don't want to spend hundreds of dollars, this is your solution. You'll wonder how you lived without them for so long!

These speakers worked fine for a few days and then lost almost all of their volume. My old speakers worked fine but this pair was permanently damaged, so back to the store it goes. Not sure what happened but will shop a different brand next time.

I've had these for about a year now with no problems. I use them with my ibook and ipod. The sound is very good. There is a volume adjustment on the speakers. They are lightweight and easy to use.

This stand looks pretty good if you don't mind drilling holes in your speakers and if you have heavy, hi-performence heavy speakers, you might want a different stand.

This is awesome alternative other than buying the speaker mounts sold by BOSE. 1. You save some money. 2. These Monster speaker mounts were designed specifically for the BOSE cube speakers. 3. You need not drill holes if you bought these for the BOSE cube speakers or any other SATELLITE speaker with pre-threaded holes in the back.

DO NOT buy this mount and drill unnecessary holes into your book shelf speaker. Book Shelf speakers are TOO HEAVY and you run the risk of getting a concussion (DUH!).

We actually got these speakers free after rebate from circuit city last year. We bought 2 sets, one for my parents house and one for mine. At my parents house in the middle of the night a loud hissing sound was coming from the speakers. We figured out that if you leave them on for more the 20 minutes, they just start making noises.
The set we have at my house is not much better. At least we dont have that loud noise, but we did have to tape the 'on' button down on the remote.

Personally, I think these are junk. don't waste your time.

After researching comprable speakers in the $30 to $50 price range for our computer we found these to be amazingly good. The treble, bass, and mid-tones are remarkably balanced and guitar music is crisp and clean. We even hooked these up to our Walkman CD player and the sound quality was good enough to compete with a full component system. A very nice suprise. We also liked the convenience of the hand-held volume remote control.

These stands are very light in weight, they can tip over very easy due to its small and light base.

Great for satellite speakers- carpet spikes hold the stand very well -I adjusted the height 1year ago + haven't touched them since- no sound diminish- ps- Dust is well hidden by the marble blend look.

This is an excellent corded phone. The sound through the handset is great, and the speakerphone is one of the best that I have used. It has all of the most used features. If you are looking for a great corded phone - look no further!

The most appealing aspects of this so-called subwoofer are price and size. It has a switchable auto on feature, a nice set of input options including 5-way binding posts, or RCA connectors. The subwoofer crossover and volume controls are conveniently mounted on the front of the subwoofer, and it's 8-inch front firing driver does a commendable job (given its size) at supplying some bass to a system consisting mostly of satellite-sized speakers. When placed in a corner and callibrated properly, this little subwoofer is capable of occassionally producing excellent bass sounds, especially with movies. However, this subwoofer distorts easily at moderate volumes, especially with movies containing extremely deep bass. The Yamaha's response time with music is also on the slow side. You won't be shaking your house too much with your favorite hip-hop albums on this subwoofer.

The Yamaha YST-SW45 is a decently priced subwoofer designed to be mated with incredibly small satellite speakers. If you really craving DEEP bass, you should look elsewhere. If you simply want a subwoofer for a small sized room for a small-sized home theater, then this is a very affordable solution. So affordable in fact, that you should take Yamaha's advice and get two of these subwoofers for the best possible imaging and sound-field dispersion.

Yes this is a low powered sub. No need to be a b---h about it, huh? Well, I have personally come to expect a lot from my Yamaha products. I bought this sub from Best Buy and was truly disppointed by its performance. I was all pumped up about the Active Servo Technology that is displayed so proudly on the front...I expected more control of the woofer during higher levels.
But this is just not the case.

In all reality, this sub is a waste of the technology...

It is known throughout the industry that low end drivers--woofers, if you will--from the size of ten inches down are the most accurate...atleast decently built ones...

So in reality the eight inch driver--unless Yamaha is admitting that it is a cheap driver--in this component is lacking power handling.

I feel as thoug this sub should only be used in rooms that are comparable to closets. My wife feels as though it is ok...well atleast she FELT that way until I went and bought the KLH 10" 120 Watt sub.

Now I know that these two products are incomparable, but, for the same price it is truly worth mentioning (you think???)

I gave it three stars because it is small. VERY small. And because I am a nice guy--I guess...:) ,,,and then there is always that chance that I bought a defective unit... :-)

So...

In closing, if you are looking for a good sub and have the money--don't buy this...hell...I can't see why anyone would buy this unless it is all that the WORLD has to offer...

Bad BAD Yamaha...

I'm gonna purchase the dual sub 200-Watt version some time this year...only because my KLHs (I have two now) are in storage (long story...they still work fine though)...and because I have heard this unit, and it is very impressive...
