These Kinyo speakers attracted me because they were cheap, stylish and compact. I was shocked when I heard them, as the sound quality is comparable to computer speakers systems costing 2 or 3 times the price. Amp noise is very low (relatively speaking) and vocals are almost clear. It elegantly handles the low end and very high end by rolling them both off, the effective range is about 75-11000Hz. For $25 this is really the best you can hope for. Also note that these are not panel speakers like the Monsoons, and merely have a similar shape.

Of course the low price leaves much to be desired. All the wires are captive and the cord connecting the right speaker/amp and left speaker is only 3', which barely stretches across my desk. The controls are only the power button and a volume wheel. There is no bass control for the "subwoofer", and naturally is far louder than it should be for proper listening. I don't know why all computer speaker thing emphasized midbass is the same as good sound. I recommend reducing the 120 and 250Hz band with an equalizer to counter this. Also, you're not going to get a lot of volume out of these speakers. Honestly, the loudest I can get them is maybe 75db, and so are probably unsuitable for listening away from the desk.

Considering how terrible most entry level audio solutions are, the SA-680 is a refreshing change. The sound quality is basically what Joe Average expects from computer speakers, and so the limited controls are well suited for the unmotivated user. If affordable sound quality in a 2.1 system is what you are looking for, I would recommend the unfortunately discontinued Cambridge MicroWorks. If "no price is too low" and the short captive cords fit your installation, this Kinyo setup is a good bet for 2.1 multimedia speakers.

I just recently bought this 6 piece speaker system as my first entry into the world of home audio. I have a very good receiver, its the Yamaha RXV-800, so these KLH speakers are not even close to the quality needed to fully maximize a solid receiver. In any case, the bottom line with this product is "you get what you pay for." For the price, it gives you a full speaker system that can fill an averaged sized room. The quality becomes distorted at high volumes, but this is typical of speakers of this quality.

The playback is fine, and I stress that the quality is decent for the amount of money. Again, this system should be a starter kit, with more money poured into speakers as one can afford to do so. Speakers are by far, the main component of quality sound when it comes to home audio. The subwoofer is actually a plus for the system, since the small satellite speakers need quite of bit of power to get them loud. I usually need to crank the receiver fairly high in order to get the full surround sound feel in my room.

On the whole, I would recommend this for a starter or temporary system, however definitely spend the extra cash to get a better system if you can.

This Koss 25 watt system has everything! And at an afforddable price.

The transaction was great, bu the prduct for its size and shape was much to quiet. i also found out that after a year after owning it, the already quiet sound volume steadily began to decrease.

this product is better than any factory speaker.

In terms of home audio, you won't really notice a difference with the cables. you probably won't notice your audio isn't as clear and crisp as it should be, and if you do notice, you'll blame the receiver, the speakers, the source, but not the cables.

Everyone knows Monster is the standard for good, name-brand quality. They've always sounded perfect for me.

It all depends if you're willing to take the risk of a no-name for the price difference.

My Dell Inspiron 2650 is a great system, but I can not adequately control the speaker volume when playing a DVD. Dialogue is not heard loudly enough to clearly understand. As a FREQUENT traveler that needs TRULY PORTABLE speakers that obtain their power from the system, I thought these speakers were the answer. For their size, they truly SOUND great; but they do NOT extend wide enough to attach to the 14.1 inch panel on my Dell Inspiron 2650. Unable to find any other speakers as "PORTABLE" as these, we have elected to keep them and attach them to the laptop with velcro. It is SUCH A SHAME that the speakers were not made to extend another 1/8 to 1/4 of an inch so they could have attached to the laptop as they were intended to. Otherwise, these are GREAT little speakers for the money. HEY NEWQ, laptops screens are getting bigger. You need to redesign these speakers to extend a little further. They are the PERFECT solution to the mobile computer user that needs a little more sound from their laptop! GREAT IDEA ..... PLEASE IMPROVE ON IT!

From the description of the item, I expected to get 2 mounts, one for each speaker (Omnimount 5.0 Stainless Steel Speaker Mounts (White)by OmniMount) Notice the plural use of the word Mounts? I was quite surprised to find only one in the box. Now I have to order another, and pay shipping again, before I can hang my speakers.

These really aren't great speakers, but what do you expect from a 1-1/2 inch cone? They are very compact, inexpensive, and run unamplified or amplified off 4-AA batteries. Good for travelling with a laptop (work dandy with my Powerbook). If you want something for your desktop, look elsewhere.

First of all, I would like to say that Sony T55 speaker is really an amazing product, I have friends heard the sound and immedialty asked me where to buy,and later, she got 2 sets,one for herself and the other as a gift to her boss@_@. Since I am so pleased with the now-discontinued-model T55 speak I brought last year, I went to Sony show room yesterday and wanted to get a new one. But the salesman told me that the model was discontinued, and he suggest me to get the new T57. Althougt I don't like the new color pattern of T57, I finally brought a blue one back home(after all, what matters most is the sound of speakers,not the looks of them,right?).... However, after 24 hours break-in, I found that the new T57 is not as good as my old T55, in terms of the sound quality: it lacks of the lovely mid-bass which T55 generate and is overall not as balance as the old model...I am disappointed to Sony this time...

So I strongly recommand anyone who are looking for a great sound quality, small and portable speaker to consider T55 before they are out of stock. Well, T57 is not that bad, but you will miss T55 if you had heard the sound of both model...
