Bought this system used so take this review with a grain of salt. .... The rear speakers produce great, clear sound. The center channel is not quite as strong, as it is kind of "tingy", but given it was used, you can't expect too much.

The system didn't have the sound quality i was looking for. I have bought this exact product in a store and the price is just not worth it. The package is small and so is the sound. My advice is to keep looking.

When properly hooked up to one of the Yamaha CAVIT receivers, these sound great.
However, these are advertised as computer speakers when in fact they are regular bookshelf home theatre speakers--no connections to the computer are provided, just bare lead speaker wire.
Even if you do use these as home theatre speakers, you need to pair them with a 6 ohms receiver rather than the more common 8 ohms ones.

this phone has all the makings of a great device. very good button layout, all the functionality one should need, a pleasant feel in the hand, an attractive package. BUT IT SUCKS!

the sound is nearly unusable. on the handset, people tell me i sound really quiet. on the speakerphone, they can barely hear me. on the headset, they can't hear me at all. additionally, the speakphone output fades away when there's even a little bit of ambient noise in the room -- this is a common problem with home office phones but it's exceptionally bad on this model.

i've tried returning this phone and getting a new one a couple times but to the same result. i contacted AT&T to see if they could help but they gave me the cold shoulder. it's no use -- this phone is awful.

i really want to like this phone but it can't. i'm only holding on to it until i can find a good, corded, two-line phone that works. any suggestions?

People complain all the time that they can't hear me when I speak on this phone. It does not matter if its the headset or the speaker. I even get cut off by answering machines who think I am not speaking. I do not recommend this phone.

I was pretty suprised at how well this phone worked. I was basically looking for a cheap speaker phone, as I was planning on putting it on mute, listening in on meetings, and picking up the reciever if I had to say something. The sound quality ended up being so good, I use it without the mute. The sound quality both for me and the recieving party is better than the one at my office. The one caviat is that the speaker and mike operate off the power that comes through the phone line. Because of this, if my wife picks up the other line, the sound in both directions becomes very faint. The manual says that this is the case, and says that if you have several phones, this can happen as well. I have 5 phones on the line, and as long as they're all hung up, everything works great.

Ok, here is the deal...these cannot be used as true surround sound speakers. They plug into the headphones jack and don't send a delayed signal. The delayed signal in dolby surround sound is what makes the Top Gun jet zoom behind you or in a 360 degrees..etc......
They sounded pretty lame as well. I don't know why other's had problems setting them up...it really wasn't that hard....you just adjust the signal.
I'd stay away from these unless you are desperate. Spend the extra $100 and upgrade.

I researched a bit and found these speakers on a popular auction website for $39.98 shipped to my door. They were advertised as "open-box", but are actually refurbished by the manufacturer with all the paperwork and accessories. While setting them up, they seemed a bit tempermental with the line level RCA outputs on my system. Fortunately, I have about a half-dozen possible outputs at my disposal, and I was able to find a happy medium using a splitter on my cable box digital audio outputs. The results are excellent. The range and sound quality is better than I expected, and this product is a real bargain at the price I paid. Do your homework and be patient with the setup and they will pay off for you.

I work in an industrial area with many sources of radio waves and
electrical connections. These speakers work as advertised and I have had no problems what so ever. The actual hook up to the television was very simple and I am very pleased with this product.

This is basically the exact tv i bought in 1998, i believe the serial number is different, but it's the same thing. After MUCH wrangling, i am going to the store tomorrow to pick up my new 32" tv. why? they are finally replacing this horrible excuse for a tv for me. when did the problems start? the nite i got it home. there was a black speck in the screen, i believe a bad pixel. anyway, i had to bring it back and get another one. over the past couple of years i have had the repair guy at my house about 10 times. why? well..first of all it had a high pitched noise that appeared whenever it felt like. they fixed it..it came back. also, the sides of the picture would compress and black lines would shoot across the screen, this happened on and off. they fixed that. it came back. they fixed it again. it came back. i got fed up and let the thing sit for about 6 months, and watched my old 25" goldstar instead. finally i decided to see what i could do about getting a replacement tv ( best thing i ever did was spend $150 on the 5 year anything goes plan) i have finally figured out why the sides of the picture compress..when there is bright white or light on the screen. perfect example is a hockey game..the bright white ice completely throws the thing off. i had to watch the Stanley Cup finals on my old tv. Oh yeah, another thing..i recently purchased a DVD player, and it screws up the images in the background of a DVD..for example, window blinds or telephone poles appear bent..it looks terrible. i connected my player to my old tv, and it looked great. So in closing i'd like to say that i'm very happy about picking up a new tv, and that i will never, ever, i don't care if it's a pack of gum, purchase another product from RCA. if you are thinking of purchasing RCA, you may have a great experience, or one like mine. my advice, run. run far away and get a quality product..anything but RCA.

I bought my RCA 32" only 3 weeks ago and the picture tube has already blown. I bought it only because it was significantly cheaper than other 32" TVs. I guess I got what I paid for. I would highly suggest either getting an extended warranty on it or looking elsewhere for a tv. Its one highly redeeming feature in the new models is the on screen TV guide which costs you absolutely nothing.

O.K. to start with I would have rather bought a nice widescreen format digital but I just dont have 2 or 3 grand to spend rightnow.I was attracted by the ... price with no tax ...,not bad for a32in. t.v.. I was a little worried by the negative reviews but so farIm more than pleased with this t.v. . The cable system where I liveisnt the greatest but the picture quality on this set is much betterthan the 27in. I used before, the most dramatic improvement was withDVD's not only is the bigger picture better for viewing but thesharpness,contrast and color are all excellent, I was really surprisedby how good the picture is. Another surprise was the very good soundQuality of the sets speaker system. My previous t.v. was an RCA hometheatre 27in. which I owned for 6 years without any problems, I hopemy luck with this set will be as good. All in all I wouldnt hesitateto suggest this t.v to anyone looking for good quality video on abudget.As for the complaints I read about the gold+ guide I agree itssomething I didnt want either and its very easy to shut off just gointo setup and skip the setup for gold+ and it doesnt show upagain. Tho only complaint that I have and its a small one is that youhave to manually switch between the video and svideo inputs, I usevideo for my vcr and svideo for the dvd, I wish both video inputscould be active at the same time but it only takes about 10 seconds toswitch them using the setup guide so its really no big deal.Barringany reliability problems I think most people would be very happy withthis set especially at the price.

Uniden,Motorola, and GE's older (black/blue w/antenna ringer light) are the best mid-priced phones. Look out for Columbia, Panasonic and V-Tech.

Much better than 900 mHz for range - almost double in our neighborhood. We bought a top of the line 900 mHz Sony (equivalent price to this 2.4 Ghz)and returned it because the noise was worse than our 10 year old analog cordless phone. Uniden clarity is much better than top of the line Sony. Caller ID functions are very easy to use, logical to figure out, and lots of options. Speed dialing is easy to use, logical to figure out, but cumbersome to program. It only has 10 speed dials which could be improved to 15 or 20. Answering machine funtions are great with the choice of different delete options, play, and skip. Easy to leave greeting but sounds "digitized" not very life-like. Messages are sometimes hard to understand if the caller doesn't speak well or talks too fast. This is the main thing we would want improved. Customer service has a lot to be desired. Very long wait times (30 minutes +) and the operators don't know how this product works. We had to contact a service manager to get our questions answered. This product is not currently on the Uniden website. Overall this is a great phone but still too pricey. If the price scares you stick with a 900 mHz around 100$-130$. You should be able to get the same features but will miss out on the extended range. If you have a lot of interference problems on 900 mHz products then pay the extra money for the 2.4 Ghz.

This phone is amazing! I really didn't need an answering machine, but I picked up this cordless gem for $50 (refurbished), and I'm very happy with it.

I've had the phone for a week now, and I take it with me when I'm walking the dog. The calls are clear with no breakup. I have tested this phone and have talked on it from almost a block away. I experienced problems when the microwave is on and I'm in the same room, but so what? All I had to do was move about 12 feet away to stop the static.

The only reason that I'm not giving it 5 stars is that it's a bit difficult to program the speed dial numbers - mainly because I'm trying to read the instructions while pushing the buttons - after a minute or so, if you don't get the info entered quickly enough, you have to start over again. But that's a small complaint.

I have no comments on the answering machine - I am using the phone over the Internet (Vonage) - so all my unanswered calls go to a voice mailbox.

In short, if you want a great phone and can pick this one up refurbished, I suggest doing so. Obviously, I can't comment yet on durability or long term reliabilty yet, but I felt stongly enough about my initial experience with this phone to write this review.

I bought these speakers about... 4 months ago or so, and I havent had any problems with them. However, the power lightbulb gets dimmer when I turn up the volume, I dont know exactly why it's doing that, im sure it has enough power, but I havent noticed it affect the sound quality at all. I can push these speakers to there max! And it sounds great! Once I put the volume up all the way, and by the way I did do some tweaking on sound levels (use something like Winamp to tweak the different outputs), and when I went outside I could make out what the music was. The sub plays deep lows preety well, but dont get me wrong, if you push it to far or you put on a song that is complex or a bit bass-demanding, it will distort, but just turn the bass down a bit and it should do well. This system won't give you ground-thumping bass, but if you set up your system and stood in the center of the room (a small room or medium sized room) it sounds good still. The sattelite speakers are also very nice, if you turn it up loud, you wont be able to hear any distortion, although there probably is some distortion if you really listened. For paying about $40 bucks for it, I am very pleased and suprised. Keep in mind I listen to mostly rap and hip hop, but i've played some techno and rock on the speakers, and it still preety good. One last word of advice, don't buy these expecting a ground thumping, houseshaking bass experience, but you could have fun blasting the music in your room with a couple of friends.

Wow, this set of speakers blows my mind considering the great low price....nothing this inexpensive has ever had such booming substance and tone. This is definately not a value to miss out on. I purchased 2 sets. :D

The Speakers worked on my pc great. I got them on sale so it was a great deal. I've had them for over a year and the still work great. The sound quality is great. I've used them to watch dvds on my computer with and they were awesome. Nothing has gone wrong with them. THese are some of the best speakers i ever have had

I've had popping and cracking along with the volume coming and going...etc...

That is the speakers only 12 feet straight away from the feed.

Don't buy these, go elsewhere.

one of the speakers works great but the other has some problems picking up the signal and is ususally a bit fuzzy. they work on an acceptable level but could be better. they are perfect for a bedroom and you can't go wrong with the price. the main problem i have is that only one phone in my house isn't chordless and when they are on they knock out the phone signal, you just have to remember to turn the base off before you answer the phone. if they had cost more, i would have been very disappointed, but the price is worth it.

if you need cheap but excellent sound for your computer, these are the speakers for you. Excellent sound

This is a low quality product. This set was the original equipment with a Dell PC I own. After having replaced the speakers twice under warranty, I actually paid Dell for a new set (a mere six months ago) which now needs to be replaced. I won't be purchasing these speakers again. The subwoofer, which controls the desk top speakers, becomes distorted over time rendering the entire system useless.

We got these speakers with our Dell Computer (in black of course), some months back, and have had absolutely no regrets since.

The sound is not as tinny as some other computer speakers, and the appearance is excellent. We keep our speakers right up front next to the monitor, as they enhance the appearance of the system. This of course makes it real easy to adjust the volume from the right speaker.

We don't have to worry about the adjustments too much, because we have it set up the way we like it, and then adjust the volume from the programme we are using, such as Real Player, Winamp or Creative Play Center. If it's late at night, I use the headphones, and pump it up!

Both the bass and the treble are spectacular, and if we don't feel like putting on the main music system in the house(which has the JBL surround speakers - also good value), we just use these and play cd's straight from the computer.

Wouldn't trade them for the world (unless Harmon Kardon makes an even better system)

I got them refurbished through another website ... 8 months ago and absolutely love them. My parents got a pair with their Dell and that influenced my decision..I would never even think of spending $$$ for any computer speakers, and I don't think I would buy just a 3 piece Sub/Sat system for my only stereo I would look to the 5 speaker options. The controls could be improved but you can adjust the volume by using a button on one of the satellite speakers. As for the treble and bass I have set them to my liking and hardly ever touch them. I use the volume control on my keyboard or the jukebox software to adjust it, I never have to touch the speakers. They do start up loud with you computer turns on but i usually have the volume muted unless I am listening to music. most of the windows beeps and noises annoy the heck out of me in the first place. Great buy much better than the stock speakers.
