I love my ZR45MC, but it really requires this extended battery.

The battery that came with my ZR45MC is woefully inadequate for anything but a handful of brief cameo shots. Also, the charge doesn't hold for any extended period of time. You may pull out your ZR to catch a great moment in time only to find that the battery has discharged while idle in the camera bag. Not using the LCD does help the situation quite a bit.

This extended battery makes a good primary battery and seems to go more than twice as long as the normal one. Also, you can then use the original as a backup (as long as you refresh it's charge occassionally :-) ).

The battery is great, but Amazon offers the accessory kit with the same battery, plus a mini-dv tape and a carrying case for the same price. The case is useless for the ZR series, but might come in handy for some other purpose.

I haven't used very many camcorders yet, so I don't think I can fairly compare the ES420V against the competition. I can tell you that while I was impressed with all the features of the camcorder, I found it hard to hold and confusing to use ONLY at first. The video quality was impressive though, especially considering the relatively low expenditure. Compared to the Canon Elura2, I'd choose the Elura2 -- it's a bit easier to use and includes impressive stills. If you're in the market for a camcorder under [price], the ES420Vis ideal!

except the motor noise heard on the tape, its really annoying

I have purchased this product after checking no. of other makes and models like jvc,sony etc etc.Features I like the most are
1) 16x powerful optical zoom Sony has only 10x even in top models
2) 1/4 inch ccd, excellent indoor video quality.
3) Rock solid image stabilisation, no shaky videos.
4) Excellent point and shoot.
5) 1.33 megapixel still photos.
Features I do'nt like are
1) Little bigger and heavy, but good for stable video.
2) Motor noise is heard in recordings.
2) Video conferencing available only on windows xp.

Now THIS is a bag. The main compartment is roomy enough to hold most camcorders (or cameras with an extra lens + flash). There's a padded divider which you can move around to fit exactly the cam you have.

The front accessory pockets are great for keeping tissues, spare film, booklets, pens, etc. (You *know* some gum will end up in there. lol)

The detachable pack is the best part in my opinion. I currently have it off on my bag, but there are times when I need to pack extra supplies and it's great for quickly attaching to the bag. This is a must have option/feature that you should always look for!

The ergonomics of this bag fits everyone's needs the pouches hold everything video. This is great!

Good product - but had to guess whether it would be compatible with my camcorder. Luckily it was.

This battery is great if you need record for a long time. I bought this battery 6 months ago as a replacement for the sony one that came with my camcorder and just didn't hold a charge anymore.

This energizer NiMH battery is great - there's no memory effect so you don't have to run it down before charging it again. On my Hi8 camcorder, I've used it for over 4 hours of recording and it had power left when I put my camcorder away.

I'd definitely recommend this battery for those who are planning on doing recording of events where multiple camcorder tapes will be used - this battery will last through a few of them. With this battery, I don't feel the need to have a backup in case it runs out because . .. well . .. it just doesn't run out.

It is a bit on the heavy side though, so if you have a smaller camcorder or if you will be handholding the camcorder for a while, I'd recommending going with slimmer battery. This adds quite a bit of weight to the camera, so be prepared to carry that weight with you wherever you go.

Overall, this battery deserves 5 stars because it does what a battery is supposed to do. Though its weight is its only issue, that can't be helped because the dense cells inside the battery are what allow the battery to hold so much charge.

The Hitachi VM7500LA VHS Camcorder is extremely impressive. It's easy to use, not very expensive, has lots of cool features & gives a clear, crisp picture. My only complaint is that the battery doesn't last very long, so you have to plug it into the wall. Overall though, I love it!!

This is one of the most versatile cams I ever owned. Eventhough
it is big and probably this is the problem with most people
whoe like small and easily carried cams, it is better than any cam I have ever worked with and I won more than 4. It is stable,
it has plenty of goodies to go along, a very nice zoom for its
age and costs much less than similar handy cams. I bouight in
USA when I studied there and my only problem is that I need
now to change NTSC formats to PAL (I am in Europe now) but the
quality of sound and image is superb.

I have used this camera so much!! You can make black and white video, fade in's, date, time, everything! It even has a digital still option. It is also small and convenient. Best camera I've ever purchased.

If I am able to vote 4.5 stars, I would.

What I like:

* great video quality and colors (near-professional quality),
* manual control (whiteness, brightness, focusness),
* easy to understand (for someone like me who doesn't want to read the manual),
* great LCD quality,
* sleek design (easy to hold and control except when you're reaching for manual focus button- can be difficult if you have the band on your hand).

What I dislike:

* nightshot feature (strobing effect if the room doesn't have enough of light),
* short battery life-span - only lasts approx. 55 minutes with LCD on and approx. 70 minutes without LCD on (I highly recommend you to buy an extended life battery),
* random black noise dots appears in some certain conditions (barely noticable),
* bad still photos (good enough for webpage and internet only),
* 700x digital zoom (totally ruins the video quality); best to use 10x optical zoom only.

Overall, I am very pleased with how well this camcorder performs, especially in focusing and stabilization. I think it is a great camcorder at this price compared to others. I highly recommend it for both home and professional use.

This is my first camcorder, and it so far a very good one. The features that come with the camcorder are all true and they all work great.
The Digital Still Mode however is very bad. If you want good pictures get a digital camera, or a regular camera for that matter. The stills are terrible, only good for posting on internet and sending through email.
Battery lifespan is very short, so plan on buying a couple more batteries.
The cover for the SD or MM card is located in an awkward postion. Everytime I open the LCD or put my thumb at the bottom of the camcorder the cover pops open.
Other than that all the features that are advertise with this camcorder are right on target. Very nice camcorder. Too much camcorder for being my first one.

My new camcorder works as fine as expected and delivers everything I need : high-quality video, easy-to-use functions, compact design with incredible size and weight, 3" LCD color display, editing software (Pixela Image Mixer with VCD)...

However, one drawback : the quality of still images recorded on the provided memory card (8 MB MMC) is lower than I expected. But that's not a problem : I have a Canon PowerShot digital camera for this.

To sum it up :

If you want to use this camcorder as a digital still camera : don't buy it. If you want to make great videos : BUY IT.

I have the camcorder for about a week. works great no real down falls to this cam. everything you'd except in a small compact camcorder priced nicely too.

The case is well made and designed and suits my camcorder and accessories perfectly. I wish the shoulder strap hooks were metal instead of plastic, but it seems sturdy enough anyway.

I had looked everywhere for the right camcorder carrying case, but found them poorly made and/or too expensive for what was offered. I took a chance on this bag and was extremely satisfied. It holds my Sony TCV66 perfectly, as well as the camera's accouterments. I was very satified with this product.
