I bought it ... hooked a seinheinser MKE-300 mike into it, and plugged it into a SONY TRV-33 camcorder ... and I can't hear much of a sound (very very very very weak sound) even at the max range of the audio channel. Completely fails.

I do not recomend to purchase this product with the ES8200v because is too big to secure the camcorder. I expected to fit exactly to ensure that the camera is not going to move inside the case. This model of case is designed more for a VHS camcorder.

I own a Canon ES8600 camcorder which is a fantastic deal for the price ($270). What blows me away is how Canon has the nerve to then charge $165.00 for an adaptor to charge your camcorder battery in your car. An item like that costs only a few dollars in parts and labor, but because it's proprietary (menaing you can'y buy generic parts and make one) to Canon's batteries, they feel they can justify the cost. This is dissapointing to say the least. There isn't much to review; the item charges your battery in your car. Done. $165.00?? Can Canon do more to say "we don't care to be in support of our customers"?

I figured I'd save money and purchase this battery instead of one of Canon's for my S45 camera. My battery never charged. Just blinks red and green. Manufacturere wasn't any help when I finally reached them. Not worth it at all.

The item delivered was a four port hub, not a five port hub as advertised. It has the same part number as the item pictured, but is a different item. I will return it.

Great idea but in practice this camera doesn't live up to expectations. The DVA-RAM re-recordable media is fairly esoteric, expensive and not compatible with most DVD readers. The other recoding media; DVD-R, has a hitch - after you record your 30 minutes of video, the disc needs to be "finalized" before it can be replayed in a DVD player. This takes at least 7minutes. You can't use the camera during this time and it must be plugged into its AC adapter. If "finalization" fails, you've lost all of your video on that DVD and it can't be recovered. Just happened to me so I thought I'd share the experience with others. At present, miniDV tape seems like a safer and more reliable option. This particular camera would only be useful to people who already own a device that can read 8cm DVD-RAM discs and copy them to other media.

The technical specifications listed for this Polaroid battery show it as 3.6 volts. If 3.6 volts is correct, then this Polaroid battery is NOT a replacement or substitute for the Sony NP-F330, NP-F530, or the NP-F550 batteries. The Sony batteries are 7.2 volts.

One star because it will not work as a replacement for the Sony batteries.

Don't bother with this light. I am returning it and spending the extra few bucks to get the Canon. The light is constantly varying as I move the camera, and sometimes it flickers off. I was able to make it stay on if I held the camera at certain angles, but that's useless. Reminds me of one of those super-cheap flashlights that you have to constantly shake.

This item which was a recommended accessory for the Sharp Viewcam I also purchased from Amazon.Com apparently was not compatible.
