Great Pencil Sharpener
I recieved this pencil sharpener for my birthday about 6 years ago and it is still running strong! It is relativly quiet and works very well when you just need to sharpen one pencil. It's one problem is that it fills up with shavings after aout 5 pencils.

Lasts a long time
These Power 2000 2400 mAH AA batteries are a good investment. They last far longer in heavy-duty use than any alkalines I've ever used. I find that using a slow charger (the kind that needs 10-14 hours) seems to give them longer life than those rapid-charge battery chargers that need only an hour or two.

The only drawback I have found with any rechargeable battery (including these) is that many devices start signaling a low-battery condition at about 1.25 volts, which is the maximum voltage that Ni-Cad or NiMH batteries can put out. If you don't mind having the low-battery LED or icon continuously claiming that the batteries are nearly exhausted, these 2400 mAH batteries are the way to go. I haven't found any with a higher amp-hour rating anywhere.

The picture displayed on the website doesn't match the actual item. The item is the same as the factory power supply. I was expecting a slim design power supply.

Excellent power for the price.
I bought a great digital camera, but didn't realize that it consumed 4 AA batteries in a short amount of time. My camera would shut down if I had taken two dozen or so pictures. I bought this Sony charger in hopes to slow down my cameras appetite for AA's. After charging them up, I haven't been able to burn them out! I've gone so far at taking 100+ pictures with the flash on and still I could not burn them out. These little guys are a must if you have a digital camera that eats up batteries. The only draw back is that it take up to 4 hours to recharge.

Never plug in again!
Seriously, this is an awesome battery. I have a PCG-C1VN, and this battery lets me run for hours on end. It's actually favorable battery life against my old Treo PDA! It even bests my old iBook. A month ago, I fell asleep while surfing. I forgot to plug in. The system was set on the "Ultimate battery life" profile, but with standby disabled. When I woke up the next morning, I still had battery life - and a few unanswered instant messages. :)

The only downside is that the battery makes your Picturebook quite a bit larger. I also find that the hinged part of the battery only allows the laptop to balance properly when folded out behind the computer. While the battery can fold underneath the machine, the front of the system lifts from the table slightly.

Great price for a very good product!
We keep all our SONY's on one of these. We use them in our Digital Filmmaking workshops and our students love them. We paid $150 a couple of years ago. For the pro-sumer, this is a great buy.

Not bad...
I've always been a bit of a nerd when it comes to battery chargers. And while this charger doesn't monitor the temperature of the battery as it charges, it certainly manages a good job nonetheless.

Recently I noticed dwindling capacity from the battery in my 2001 Audi S4 Avant ... go figure, it's been cold out in Michigan lately and this is the stock battery that has suffered several complete discharges on accident. Being a non deap-cycle design, letting it sit dead for 24 hours or more at a time is murder on it's lifespan. Its capacity was down to about 25% measured with a state of the art battery tester.

I had the choice of either purchasing a new battery- ~$90 my cost, or buying this charger for $50 at a local Wal-Mart. Not having a good multi-stage charger presently (My prized yuasa charger died a year ago)- I inspected this one carefully. It's "reconditioning" feature drew my curiosity.. and knowing I could return it if it didn't work, I figured what the heck.

My old battery now is up to 80% capacity after 48 hours of reconditioning. It does take a while, each cycle takes 24 hours beyond a normal charge. But, I'm impressed. This isn't some lame surface charge or slow trickle charge, it actually desulfated some of the plates on my battery.

Pros- small, lightweight, heavy gauge clamps and wires. Internal variable speed cooling fan and switching power supply exhibit proper battery charger construction.

Cons- too light. The wires weigh more than it does almost, so it's very easy to 'pull' the charger off of whatever you set it on, possibly making it fall to the ground and damaging it.

Summary: The packaging has a hailstorm of technical information that most buyers aren't going to read, including screenshots from a Fluke scopemeter showing waveform generation comparisons. I think most Wal-Mart buyers are going to look at the $50 pricetag and buy the el-cheapo $19.99 5/50A analog charger and move on, making this excellent product eventually dissapear due to lackluster sales. If you want a good charger, buy this one while it's available. It won't be around forever..

Just another Battery
Think of it as duracell and duracell ultra. You could also do Energiser or Energise T2. This is just the one which packs the extra punch. It's just a battery. Nothing more. But it is better than the Ni-MH ones and the other you can buy. Buy it if you take long trips frequently while playing games (like me!)
