How can something so big be so dim?
This torch is huge and heavy, but even with new batteries it is not particularly bright, and the light is yellow and full of shadows. There are far better lights out there, like the SureFire M6 which is far, far brighter, much more robust and small. The maglite is only recommended for use as a club.

The big and lighter big flashlight.
I've owned one of these for almost 8 years now. It is the best flashlight I ever purchased. I bought it when I was in college and worked as a Student Auxiliary for the college Police Department. My flashlight has suffered a great deal more then most flashlights can handle. It's been dropped, run over, used as a hammer, used to pound in tent stakes, constantly taken on road trips, I can't even remember all of the things I've done to it. All I can tell you is it still works. The best thing about the 6C is that it is lighter and thinner than the 6D but still is big enough and bright enough to get the job done. I even bought one for my best friend to keep in his truck.

To keep it working well you should occasionally apply a small mount of Vaseline to the threads to keep the threads and O-rings lubricated. If you do that it should last you a long time.

Not compatable
Be careful when ordering thesses types of items. The product is sold to replace camcorder batteries. I ordered it, even though it said it was good for my camcorder, it did not fit. Speak with customer service before purchasing this type of an item. Save time.

Motorola TalkAbout NiMH Rechargeable Battery Kit for 280 & T289 Series

This can be done a lot cheaper
Instead of purchasing the conversion kit and a spare battery(total of $80) you would be better off sticking with the AA versionand of the radio, and blowing $30 to $40 on a NiMh charger and eight batteries. This combination gives you over 30 hrs of operation on three AA size NiMh batteries vs. only 11 hrs with the Motorola kit. This way you will also have rechargable AA batteries available for flashlights, cameras, games, toys, etc...

Best battery
You can't beat the Motorola battery. Here's why: It's a 4.5v battery, whereas AA size NiMH batteries are 1.2v, providing only 3.6v total. Using NiMH AA batteries will only give you 1 or 2 bars of battery strength and run out after just a few calls. Alkaline AA are great, but you'll throw them away every 6-8 hours. The Motorola NiMH delivers the full 4.5v necessary and lasts a whole day. Definitely worth the price.

doesn't recharge well
ever since we got this replacement battery, the exact same model as the one that the phone system came with, the phone now never works well. the battery never full recharges and now I always get the same message on my handset "move closer to base." i am trying to figure out now if the battery is defective or if my expensive panasonic phone system is on the blitz...

but---my sister-in-law says she got the same battery type for her wireless phone and has the same problem.

Thought my phone was dead forever
I was having problems with my cordless phone, but this new battery has saved the day.

Road Warrior LiIon Slim Battery for Motorola StarTac Phone
This battery DOES NOT WORK with my Motorola digital StarTac wireless telephone (ST7760). The manufacturer (iGo Corporation) says that even though its batteries are made to Motorola's specifications, they do not always work with the intended phone. He suggested I purchase a Motorola battery for my Motorola phone.

    Reach Me Anywhere!
Two years ago for my birthday, my mom got the brilliant idea that the perfect gift for me would be a pager. I'm not a doctor. (...) I'm not even a teenager who just wants to be cool. What would ever possess her to buy me a pager? But on my birthday, there it was...the Motorola LS550 Pager.

    Design
This pager is standard size in my opinion. Not too big, but not too small. The screen is located on the top and displays the time and date. A clip is on the backside so you can attach the pager to your belt or pocket. The right side has rubber gripping so you can grasp the pager easily. The front of the pager has 3 buttons- one is plain, one has a dot, and one has a check.

The plain button is the way you view the numbers and scroll through the pagers received. The checked button is pushed to select a specific page or an option on the menu. The dotted button is the way to access the option or return to the main menu screen. Getting the hang of which button to push was a little tricky at first.

The Motorola LS550 Pager comes in 4 dazzling color choices. You can choose black, red, blue, or teal.

    Features
The Motorola LS550 Pager can hold 40 pages. The time the page was received is also recorded. Unfortunately, the date is not recorded which is not a big deal, but would have been a nice feature.

Alerts: vibrate or a choice of 5 audio alerts.

Alarm: You can set an alarm to go off as you need it. You can set the alarm to go off daily, or weekly, or just the one time. This is a nice option. It can help you remember to daily take your medication, or remind you of a weekly appointment.

Private Time: I used this feature a lot! It allows you to receive pages, but will not alert you when one is received. It will not vibrate or beep. On the screen, there is a small Motorola symbol that flashes when a page is received. During Private Time, only the symbol flashes without the sounds or vibration. I set my pager to this setting when I was in class or church. I could check to see if the Motorola symbol was flashing and then return the call or check my voice mail at my convenience. This was my favorite feature because even on vibrate it would buzz or rattle against stuff if I had it tucked in my purse or backpack.

Delete Messages: You can choose to delete pages one at a time or clear the memory all at once.

Pager Off: If you wish, you can turn your entire pager off. You will not be able to receive any pages.

I actually ended up liking this pager a lot even though. I started out thinking it was a stupid idea. I commuted 45 miles to college every day and I liked that people could leave me messages while I was at school.

This pager was a little complicated to use when I first got it. I was able to get the hang of it after a little practice. Everything was simple and straight forward. There are no thrills or extras. It's a basic pager that does everything I needed it to do.

I liked the size of the buttons and the screen. I have seen other pagers where the buttons were so small, I had to use my fingernail to push them. The Motorola LS550 is easy to use. A man or someone with larger hands should not have a problem.

This pager uses 1 AAA battery. I go through one battery every 2-3 months so it does last quite a long time. Replacement is easy and the pager holds the memory while you change the battery.

Overall, I think this is a great pager. It met all of the needs I didn't even know I had. I have no complaints. Whether you have a high demand job or just want another way for people to be able to reach you, check out the Motorola LS550 Pager.

not even close to 10 hours
I bought the n-charge system and tried it with my Sony notebook computer. The product said that you would be able to watch 3 dvd's, etc. with the time allotted. I ran the system quite a few times to give it a chance to break in. It never provided more than 4 hours and five minutes of continuous use...1.5 - 2 movies. More than the battery that came with my computer, but not even close to 10 hours worth. I'm glad that Brookstone has such a good return policy.

    Great Product... on the whole...
I had some problems with the order at first. When I got the
Power System I was expecting a system. All J&R shipped was just the battery.
After emailing J&R Music and Computer World a few times and asking for
the part number and price for a power adapter for my laptop,
all I got was ignored. After calling Valence Tech, I was able
to get the information I needed and bought the adapter I needed.
    Valence Tech 1/ J&R 0
My biggest suggestion is for Amazon.com to drop J&R Music and
just go with Valence Tech. ( That and add a note to the add that
    further items might be needed...)
With the Power Adapter for the battery, there is another adapter
that is sent to match it up to the make and model of Laptop.
The only problem I found is that small adapter broke and I'll
have to call up Valence Tech for a replacement.
I first gave the product just one star for a review... that more
because how I was ignored my J&R Music... After dealing
with Valence Tech I'm a whole lot happier with the product.

      Generic battery
The battery won't fully charge even after following the manufacturer's battery recalibration guidelines on their website (Battery Technology). Only four out of the five LED lights on the side of the battery indicate that its roughly 80% charged (88% according to the power meter in Windows). It still lasts around 2 to 3 hours using typical office apps which for me is acceptable.

        OK at best
This is a good electric toothbrush and great for travel as the 2 AA batteries last months. However, we've been through three of them in two years. Expect them to last about a year. As with other Braun toothbrushes, the brush tips are expensive and can be hard to find. Our local grocery chain discontinued all Braun/OralB toothbrushes and tips. The customer service people at both Walgreens and Eckerd tell me they just can't get their orders filled. This went on for the better part of 2003 and we finally picked some up during a trip to Europe.

I switched from a rechargeable Braun as I got tired of the rechargeable batteries losing their ability to hold a charge after a couple of years. Even if the AA battery models only last a year they are a much cheaper both initially and over the long run. They do vibrate a bit more but clean just as well and I find the shape much easier to handle than the rechargeable models.

I've had this lantern for awhile. When it worked, it was surprisingly bright. I only got a few uses out of it before it stopped giving light (not the batteries). Needed it recently when power went out!
