This brand is slightly better than the standard Sony® microcassettes I used to use in my recorder-player, but not by much. The sound quality is marginally superior, and there's a little less background noise to get in the way of whatever speeches, lectures, or verbalized thoughts you're taping for posterity.

On the downside: it still plays, fast-forwards, and rewinds at the same exact pace as any other brand of microcassette. And for some strange reason, whenever I record my voice on one of these and play it back, I sound like that Mr. Sulu' guy from Star Trek®! Which is kinda weird, 'cuz my voice doesn't sound anything like that in real life' oh my!

I bought this item via Amazon from Office Depot. "TDK 3.5 Magneto Optical Disk 540MB 512 Bytes/Sec 1-Pack by TDK"

I thought that it was a pack of magneto optical disks....NO, it was just ONE (1) disk. Really now! How can you label an item "1-pack" and there be just one item? By definition a pack means more than one.

My other peeve was that the packaging was atrocious! Amazon packs their stuff well, neatly and well protected. This came in a mail order envelope with scrappy, barely legibgle handwriting on it. Did I mention that this "1-pack" is ACTUALLY ONE 540MB disk? GEEZ!

Who would order ONE CD disk or one diskette over the internet and then pay shipping?

Ridiculous! Apart from that the disk worked perfectly. No complaints,thus it can only get 4 stars.

This pen writes pretty well to label CD-Rs/CD-RWs. The ink flows evenly and does not smear once you let it dry for a few seconds. The ink can be applied to clear and opaque surfaces. Of course, since the ink is permanent, you cannot change any errors that you have written. The pen is small enough to allow some intricate designs. In general, I'm sure that this pen can be utilized in other manners of permanent labeling and for writing on CDs, it fits the bill nicely

CD-R Media is pretty much a commodity, the TDK brand is just as good as a generic, but the good thing about this is that instead of those spindles that all of us buy, that always seen to have one or two bad ones, these are all individually packed, not to mention they come with a jewel case. And at this price that's ... for 50 CD-R's with the Jewel Case! Not bad.

This TDK disk is an okay disk. Make sure you keep in mind that you can only write data to these disks, as audio does not play on all players. The write speeds could be a little better than 4x. However, it is an okay product for the price it's being offered at.

Verbatim TR4 Travan Data Cartridge

Performs flawlessly comparable to other brands of TR4 backup. I previously was using Sony back up tapes but see no difference in performance with the Verbatim brand.

good price...good quality...definitely worthwhile if you are not sure whether you want to buy this brand but if u know a brand that works well buy in bulk

The Verbatim CD-RW is just your basic disc nothing new. Good deal though with the jewl case though.

One out of every 4 discs would fail on me when I'd burn to this media at 4x. Slowing down the burn to 2x didn't help either! I own a Sony DRU500A with the latest firmware. Memorex isn't on their compatibility list. Lesson learned: check the compatibility list BEFORE buying!

Using these disks with Optorite DD0203. When you receive the spindle, it says that you have to upgrade your DVD writer firmware to the latest one available by your manufacturer otherwise you might have problems. I've upgraded to firmware 2.16 (have to download from http://www.optorite.com/firmware.htm). I used the dos version upgrade, but you can use windows version too.
I wanted to order DVD+R disks instead of DVD-R but somehow messed up the ordering so I ended up with DVD-R. I've read that DVD+R have better compatibility with standalone DVD players so I was pretty worried that these won't play in your DVD player. I was suprised to find out that they play even in ancient standalone players. No problems with compatibility. So far I've burned around 10 DVDs without any problems at 4x. I used multiple programs but prefer Nero 6.0.

These are the best dvd-r's on the market. I have only had a handful of these not work, out of the hundreds that I have used. Very stable and plays on most dvd players. Highly recomend! Can't beat the price!

I was under the impression that 40X means that they can be written at 40X spped. My Drive (which is a 40X LiteOn) will only write them at 12X and Nero says it's only a 12X disc? Is this false advertising on Memorex's part??? Any ideas??

Good price though..but I like the Staples Gold better(Store brand of a sony I think) and they write at 40x ..

These Memorex blank CDs are simply the best combination anywhere of high quality and low cost. Three factors make these discs stand out as your best buy:

First of all, they are rated for burning at up to 16x, which is nice for those with fast CD-ROM burners. Sometimes you'll find that substandard media won't REALLY burn as fast as the label claims, which is very annoying. With these Memorex discs, however, I've NEVER experienced a problem with diminished burn speed. They cook perfectly at 16x every time.

Second is reliability. Out of my last spindle I had NOT A SINGLE DEFECTIVE CD. Not one defective CD out of fifty blanks! Quite remarkable, considering that many blank CD vendors consider a 10-15% failure to be acceptable.

Finally, the low cost of these excellent discs- just fifty cents each- is hard to beat...

If you are in need of blank recordable CDs, look no further. You won't find a better choice anywhere.

I buy spindle after spindle after spindle of these, and they're great. I never burn coasters (that is, end up with a CD that didnt burn correctly and cant be used for anything except my chai mug), and I never have trouble playing them elsewhere. Every other brand I've ever tried has had at least one of those problems. Memorex has always been problem-free.
