Fast and reliable (so far...)The metal contruction and retractable design make it one of the more physically robust USB flash drives around. I've used it regularly for a couple months under Linux 2.4 and 2.6, Mac OS X, and a variety of Windows versions without any trouble. It comes with a five year manufacturer warranty.
If you're looking for a top-of-the-line flash drive, this might be for you. Do remember that like most consumer electronics, the next generation of flash drives will probably be out in 6-9 months and will no doubt make this one look slow. However, until capacities go up significantly, more speed isn't really necessary since 512MB can be filled in less than a minute at 12MB/s...
BLAZING fast!

CRUZER MINI IS A WINNER
Perfect for my needs & great valueThis drive, however, is backwards compatible with the older USB 1.1 interface, and a Windows 98 SE driver is available for download from the manufacturer's site.
Download and installation of the new driver went perfectly. It was literally done in a few mouse clicks. I plugged the drive into each machine and it was immediately recognized by both my Sony and IBM laptops. I also tried this on a Windows 2000 system and it was immediately recognized and assigned as a disk drive without drivers.
Not only does this device work as advertised with no problems, but it also leaves room for a second USB device on laptops that have adjacent ports (my Sony is configured like this). My old flash drive required me to use an USB extension cable in order to have room to plug in my mouse, so the form factor is yet another feature I like about this particular model.
One final feaure I very much like - you can encrypt files on this device, and since I am using it as an email file system the privacy and protection this affords me is important.
Highly recommended if you want a high-capacity flash drive that will work on older Windows 98 SE systems, or just a reliable and easy-to-install flash drive for any system. It will not work on Windows 95 and below systems (none of the flash drives of which I am aware will).

- Economical high capacity storage in a write once CD format
- 700MB capacity or 80 minutes record time
- Computer use only, not compatible with audio CD recorders
- Store Data, Photos, Music and More

Great!

Very convenientMy only caution would be to make sure these have enough capacity for your needs. These disks state they have about 50 megs of capacity, although when I check the actual size under my XP system, it's only about 40 megs. That's still more than enough for me to store everything I need, and I don't know if that's a typical finding or not. The main thing to remember is that the regular 3.5 inch mini-CD's store over 200 megs vs. the 40-50 megs here. So remember to take that into account.
The only downside to these is that they aren't read-writeable. That's still workable for me, since I can just create an extra directory with the updated information and just keep doing that until I run out of space and need to get another disk. Since I only need about 10 megs of space, that means I can update the information four times before I run out of space, since the file sizes don't really increase much in size.
Overall, a very useful and convenient little product.
I like the convenience of being able to take a bunch of freelance stuff that I'm working on back and forth from work to home and vice versa -- and being able to put it all on one disk. :)
However, some files are too big to be stored on a 100 MB disk, and a CD-RW would probably be better for larger files.
