Reliable Storage - But With Limitations
So far -- for the past five years or so -- I've been able to store lots of files and data on Zip disks without any data corruption or other disintegration of files.

I like the convenience of being able to take a bunch of freelance stuff that I'm working on back and forth from work to home and vice versa -- and being able to put it all on one disk. :)

However, some files are too big to be stored on a 100 MB disk, and a CD-RW would probably be better for larger files.

great stuff
These disks are very convenient and easy to carry around.

Best CDR Media Ever Made
If you ask anyone who knows anything about CD-Rs, they will tell you that Kodak media is the best. Nothing compares to the quality, compatibility, stability, and lifespan of Kodak media. Sadly, Kodak stopped making them some time last year, so they're hard to track down, but if you find some, snap them up! They'll be gone soon.

Awesome silver back CD-Rs
I bought this pack of CD-Rs several months ago and after burning through almost the entire hundred pack of them I am sold for life on these. With all the other CD-Rs I've burned I've had at best a hit and miss record with being able to play the audio CDs I made in my car CD player. Sometimes I'd have to sit there and insert and eject the CDs for almost half an hour to get the things to play at all. I had those problems with a variety of blue back CDs I bought over about 30 audio CDs I've burned. A little while ago though my best friend got robbed and I had to replace almost all her CDs with CD-Rs and every single one I burned for her (and extra copies of CDs I kept for myself) played in my car CD player on the first try. I've never had anything close to that with anything else. I never had any disc errors burning either. The mat finish on these also makes it easy to write down all the songs on a CD, especially punk ones with 18 songs on a disc and still have room. The only downside is all the jewel cases you get with these, I wound up tossing out over half of them. Awesome media, buy em!

great
Definitely recommend these CD-R's. The price is great for so many CD's. Memorex brand never disappoints. I've been burning with Memorex CD's for a year and while other brands tend to go bad after repeated usage, Memorex CD-R's never fail. Stick with Memorex.

Best I've Used
I never thought I would burn a cd without noise on it. I had been using a 4X USB burner with Maxell gold discs, and thought the burner was the problem. Then I got a new computer with a 40X writable burner, and had the same problem, even at only 4X speed. I was about ready to give up on burning music, and I bought these Memorex discs. Perfect burn at 40X. No noise whatsoever. Definitely the best I've ever used, and the only ones I'll use from now on.

    Fast and reliable (so far...)
As the first reviewer indicated, this is a very speedy USB flash drive. It easily gets 12MB/s write and 15MB/s read in real world conditions when connected to a USB 2.0 host. Only when reading/writing many very small files does it drop significantly below these values.

The metal contruction and retractable design make it one of the more physically robust USB flash drives around. I've used it regularly for a couple months under Linux 2.4 and 2.6, Mac OS X, and a variety of Windows versions without any trouble. It comes with a five year manufacturer warranty.

If you're looking for a top-of-the-line flash drive, this might be for you. Do remember that like most consumer electronics, the next generation of flash drives will probably be out in 6-9 months and will no doubt make this one look slow. However, until capacities go up significantly, more speed isn't really necessary since 512MB can be filled in less than a minute at 12MB/s...

    BLAZING fast!
This drive is amazingly fast compared to my old USB flash drive (a 128 MB Macally FD-128 Flash Drive). I did not do a strictly scientific test by any means, but the difference is incredible. The old 128 MB drive read a 34.6 MB file in 33 seconds and wrote the same file back in 50 seconds. The Cruzer Titanium read that same file in 1.8 seconds (my reaction time on the stopwatch may be a little slow), and wrote the file back in 2 seconds. I wrote a 200 MB zip file to the Cruzer in 15 seconds and read the file off the Cruzer in 12.5 seconds. I think even these non-scientific results speak for themselves. I am very impressed with this drive. The flashing blue access light is a very nice touch (especially when it starts flashing like a maniac during a large transfer). I highly recommend this stylish, fast, and solidly built drive to anyone.

    CRUZER MINI IS A WINNER
I just purchased this product at Office Depot at a check out lane. This thing is a screaming eagle. It transfers files effortlessly and immediately. You can stick it in your pocket, wallet, or anywhere else you want to put it. Just plug it into your USB port and away you go. Like the other reviewer said, it's no bigger than a pack of gum and it's lightning fast.

Perfect for my needs & great value
I was using an older 128 MB flash drive as the file system for e-mail on two older laptop computers. This allowed me to keep my mail synchronized on my primary home system and the one I take on travel. The problem was that I outgrew the 128 MB, and since both of my systems were older circa 2001 laptops that used USB 1.1 and ran under Windows 98 SE none of the gigabyte flash drives would work with it - all of the others required either USB 2.0 and/or Windows ME or 2000.

This drive, however, is backwards compatible with the older USB 1.1 interface, and a Windows 98 SE driver is available for download from the manufacturer's site.

Download and installation of the new driver went perfectly. It was literally done in a few mouse clicks. I plugged the drive into each machine and it was immediately recognized by both my Sony and IBM laptops. I also tried this on a Windows 2000 system and it was immediately recognized and assigned as a disk drive without drivers.

Not only does this device work as advertised with no problems, but it also leaves room for a second USB device on laptops that have adjacent ports (my Sony is configured like this). My old flash drive required me to use an USB extension cable in order to have room to plug in my mouse, so the form factor is yet another feature I like about this particular model.

One final feaure I very much like - you can encrypt files on this device, and since I am using it as an email file system the privacy and protection this affords me is important.

Highly recommended if you want a high-capacity flash drive that will work on older Windows 98 SE systems, or just a reliable and easy-to-install flash drive for any system. It will not work on Windows 95 and below systems (none of the flash drives of which I am aware will).

      Great!
I have not had any problems with these CD-Rs when using my CD-R burner, CPU or DVD player. In fact, I haven't had any problems at all. They are very high quality. After having used 123 CD-Rs of this brand, I still haven't found one single scratched CD-R in the 100-pack bundles (which happens a lot with cheaper brands). The best part, the label area is completely blank! There is no branding whatsoever on the label area, which is wonderful when you put custom labels on the CDs and don't have to see the brand name showing through the label.

      100PK BUSINESS CARD CDR W/120

        Average review score:

        Very convenient
I just bought a pack of these and I have to say, these are really a great idea and extremely convenient. I can fit all of my most used documents on the smaller "business-card" CD, and then I just stick it in my wallet. It easily fits in a credit-card-sized slot, and is only slightly thicker than your typical credit card. If I ever need one of my documents, I just whip out my wallet, pull out the little CD, and slap it in the drive.

My only caution would be to make sure these have enough capacity for your needs. These disks state they have about 50 megs of capacity, although when I check the actual size under my XP system, it's only about 40 megs. That's still more than enough for me to store everything I need, and I don't know if that's a typical finding or not. The main thing to remember is that the regular 3.5 inch mini-CD's store over 200 megs vs. the 40-50 megs here. So remember to take that into account.

The only downside to these is that they aren't read-writeable. That's still workable for me, since I can just create an extra directory with the updated information and just keep doing that until I run out of space and need to get another disk. Since I only need about 10 megs of space, that means I can update the information four times before I run out of space, since the file sizes don't really increase much in size.

Overall, a very useful and convenient little product.
