Except for the Cheap Belt Clip...
I like the horizontally oriented case. It has two compartments, one for the camera, and one for extra battery and/or memory. THE CLIP IS CHEAPLY MADE, plastic which doesn't accept handsome torque without showing stress cracks and breaking, and WORSE, the black plastic clip is held in place by a small pitiful metal pin. WORST OF ALL is that the clip handle jabs a large man in the belly from the belt...not ergonomically designed. I have a much cheaper case which is better designed and more functional, and won't break if I accidently press the case agains a chair arm, or bump it hard getting in the car. I would not have bought it if I had held it in my hands before purchase. I recommend you shop around for something that doesn't have a cheap plastic clip which is held in place by a cheap ugly piece of wire.

Minolta case
I find the camera fits perfectly in the case and there is decent cushioning to protect the camera. The draw back with this case is the front pocket which is to hold extra battery/memory card is way too big and doesn't hold the extra battery in place. Every time I open the case to remove the camera the battery falls out. If I had known this prior to purchasing the case I would have gotten a different one.

Case
I find that the camera fits perfectly in the case. The case is compact and has decent cushion for protection. They only bad thing is the front pocket which is for extra battery/memory card is too big. The extra battery I put in mine is always falling out when I open the case to take out the camera. If I had known this before I purchased it I would not have bought it.

Not very impressive
Not a powerful flash.
No significant difference between the on-board flash and this one.

Question
Does this flash work with a Sony DSC S85 camera?

I believe so, but there is almost no information regarding this
on the web.

Definitely would recommend this product!!!
Since purchasing the Sony HVLF1000 Flash for use on my DSCF707 camera I'm continually amazed at its capabilities.

Bounce flash and fill-flash are wonderful. There's still some problems with red-eye, but that's always a problem when the flash is so close to the taking lens.

Only one thing to watch or be careful with is in removing the flash from the camera. It comes off the accessory shoe a little quicker and easier than you'd imagine.

Wonderful product with wonderful results.

Save your money
Just get a power inverter (~35-45$) and use the included battery charger. Then you can also use the inverter to power a laptop or a drill or something useful.

Nice Charger
On the surface, this charger appears to be nicely made and convenient for auto use, just a bit pricey. Unfortunately and do to design, the charing unit does not securely hold the battery inplace. I've found that the battery slips out too easly, and can and does get ejected out of the charger if you hit a firm bump on the road. It's something you will want to keep an eye one. Got to where I needed the camera today, and again I found the battery on the floor of my truck.

A Gem!
I picked up this car charger when I purchased my Canon PowerShot S500. At first I didn't think it would get much use and that I'd been pressured by the sales guy into purchasing it. But the charger has proven itself very useful and perfect for road trips.

It is super easy to use, you just plug it in to your cigarette lighter and away it goes. The lights work just like on the regular charger, so when the light turns green, you know you are good to go.

As for quality, this car charger isn't of any lesser quality than the regular plug into the wall one that comes with the camera. It is just as durable and it is definitely worth the price if you are on the road with any frequency. It is a little on the larger side, so it may not fit nicely in your glovebox.

All in all, this is a gem!

The proper tool
I was a little hesitant to purchase this AC adapter because the description did not give any of the specifications. The manual that came with our Olympus D-490 camera warns that we cannot use the Olympus 3 amp adapter, so I was hesitant to order this one without knowing more. I took a chance since this was the only one I could find on Amazon, and luckily this was the one needed. The specs, for those who need to know are as follows: Class 2 power supply with Input - AC120V 50/60Hz 0.3A and Output - DC6.5V 2A

Adapter for all digital Olympus cameras that use 4 AAs
After reading the other posts, I reconfirmed that this adapter will work on all digital Olympus filmless cameras that use 4 AA batteries (including the C-3040). The URL to verify this is http://www.olympusamerica.com/accessory.asp?accessory=9 . On most of my electronic do-dads I make my own power supplies using various equipment lying around (I do electronics for a living), but when you're plunking down several hundred dollars for a good camera, it's wise to play it safe and use only what the manufacturer recommends.

Great Adapter for the Olympus C series digital cameras!!
This is a high quality adapter that does exactly what it is suppose to do and that is power the Olympus C-2000 and 3000 series of digital cameras. I use it to power my camera (a C-2040Z) while I learned how to use the camera's LCD screen and many other camera features without wasting my batteries. I also use this power cord to download my photos to my PC. A card reader would be nice as you could leave it plugged into the PC and simply insert the memory card from the camera. That way you don't use the camera batteries at all. However, I bought this AC adapter to (1) take with me on trips away from my PC and my card reader would not be available. So, I might need an AC power supply, and: (2) to power the camera to display (view and review) photos on a television or monitor for long periods of time. You can save the cost of this admittedly pricey but quality adapter, by getting the card reader, or perhaps a floppy disk adapter card instead. You could then easily view your photos on your PC monitor without using the camera batteries at all. However, if I am away from my PC (and card reader), I can use the adapter to take my time reviewing my photos directly on the camera's LCD screen or via a television set on distant photo shoots. That way, I don't have to worry about draining my batteries. So, it is really a matter of personal preference. Nevetheless, this adapter does exactly what it is suppose to do and that is to power the Olympus C series of cameras. I don't know about the compatibiliy of this adapter with other cameras. If you want to use this adapter with another camera, then it would be worthwhile to first check with the Olympus Corporation to find out about the compatibility of this adpater with other cameras. Still, if you envision yourself needing to keep your OLy C series digital camera turned on for long periods of time (and you want to save batteries), then this adapter could be the answer.

Card received was not the card I ordered
My order specifies 1 Olympus 16MB SmartMedia card.

I got 1 16MB Smart Media card to use in an Olympus camera. There is a difference!

The Olympus card has a panorama funtion. The other brands do not.

I was not sent what I ordered.

Why Pay Twice as much for basicaly the same thing.
I also have an Olympus D340R Camera, and I have an Olympus 16mbcard and a Scandisk 16mb card. The panoramic feature isn't worth paying [the extra money]. Instead of buying one Olympus 16mb card, buy two Scandisk 16mb cards.

Nice little Card

I bought an Olympus D360L digital camera.

Overall I was very happy with these cards. They have held up to the usage I've put them though, so far. It is nice to know that they have a 5 year guarnatee should anything happen.

I would certainly buy the floppy or USB reader for transfering data.

While the size is amazingly small it is still very uncomfortable and requires frequent adjustments while viewing. Picture quality is very low and not worth the price you will pay. Still better than any of the other HMD's. natralman@aol.com

Eye Trek
I really like my Eye Trek. Needing to stay in bed a lot I can watch all my programs laying down. Can't wait to try this with my camera.

great glasses
I own these glasses and they are great, the picture is amazing, and this is agreat way to watch a movie. I would recommend these glasses to anyone.

Good Idea, not everything works
My company purchased this flopy disc interface so that we could let any of the graphic artists pop the card into the machines without moving the USB reader we have around.. unfortunatly the card won't work on a dual processor system, so none of our graphic artists can use it. I think for the price we paid for it, it should be able to work on any system!

Needed item for most computers, but costly
My computer doesn't have a port for a Memory Stick, so using any one of Sony's products that use them is impossible without using this adapter. Sony's digital cameras and digital voice recorders (why I have one) all use this media format, so forgetting to buy one can prevent your enjoyment of your own equipment.

To use the adapter, you just slide the Stick into the adapter, and then the adapter goes into your regular 3.5" disk drive, looking just like a regular disk. There is some software included to assist in the applications you will use with it, inluding the voice recognition program I originally hoped to use, but is sold separately.

I don't really know why the item is as much as it is, but it is necessary for most folks. I guess one way of looking at it is that it offers the same functionality as a Compact Flash card reader, just more expensive.

Works fine and just as expected
The floppy disk adapter perfectly suits people like myself who still have old computers without USB. One first installs the software from the included CD and then formats the memory stick. Be warned that you had better print or save any images you already might have on the memory stick before formatting as all data is lost in formatting.
Once you've formatted you can take pictures and immediately upload and print them if desired by inserting the memeory stick to the floppy and inserting the floppy into your FD drive.

Good idea. Well made. No warranties or guarantees. Expense
I recently bought this accessory for my S400. I didn't buy it from Amazon, but I should have since it's cheaper here. I was so excited to test it to make sure it doesn't leak before I put my expensive camera in it. I read the manual and filled the WP-dc800 with toilet paper for a test. I then stuck the camera housing into a sink full of water and let it soak for a while. I pressed all the well-built little buttons and levers underwater to make sure that every seal was water tight. When I took the item out and inspected it, everything checked out ok and the toilet paper was dry as a bone, just like I want my camera when I take this thing snorkeling later this summer. They ask a little much for this accessory and they don't offer any type of warranty with it at all. They warn you enough times in the manual not to let even a strand of hair interrupt the waterproof seal or it may leak on your camera, but they never tell you what to do if this item is faulty and floods your precious camera inside. I doubt Ill have any issues with it and it stood up to my tests at home. The WP-DC800 appears to be a solid product. I like how the buttons perfectly align to the buttons on the S400. Every feature is accessible while the housing is on your camera except, of course, removing the battery or CF card. The lens is double plated, anti-condensation glass. It attracts fingerprints like a magnet though. IT also comes with some sealant goop, a wrist strap and a cool Canon neck strap that shows the world how eccentric you are with your digital camera housing.
What I don't like about the WP-DC800 is the large part on the front that makes the item more huge than it has to be. This is for the added diffuser plate feature for your flash. It makes the WP-DC800 seems a little bulky
What I dont like about the WP-DC800 is the large part on the front that makes the item more huge than it has to be. This is for the added diffuser plate feature for your flash. It makes the WP-DC800 seems a little bulky. The realease to open the unit is a little hard to open. There is a push button that you hold while pulling on the top. I always fear that I might break the thing, but at least there is no worry that it will open underwater.

I love it!
I was a little scared to try this out after reading some of the horror stories posted around the 'net about it leaking. . . .

Well, just to be on the safe side, we got some insurance for our new S500, then stuck it in this housing and took it on multiple dives over a week.

I'm happy to report that it worked flawlessly!!!

Now I just need to save up for an underwater strobe. . . . .

Solid Product-Underwater YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN!
I am an experienced scuba diver with some experience in underwater photography. I bought this housing on a lark, because I had the camera and wanted something small to take along when I wasn't diving for photography but wanted to take some snaps.

*WITH THE PROPER PRECAUTIONS AND CHECKS* I found this case worked and was easy to use. I definitely recommend it.

The warning is:
* TAKE THE PROPER PRECAUTIONS
* MAKE THE PROPER PRE-DIVE CHECKS
* YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN
* GET FLOODING INSURANCE OR DEAL WITH THE CONSEQUENCES

I was advised from the beginning to take a course on underwater camera maintenance and use, and to get flooding insurance. I still accept that despite my best efforts, I'll get flooding. The insurance will protect me. You *cannot* assume that a manufacturer will warranty an underwater housing against leakage. It's not possible. Even a tiny bit of sand on an O-ring can cause a leak, and at 60 feet the leak will let in water at twice atmospheric pressure.

Fancy underwater housings for $1000+ cameras are *not* warranted against flooding. Don't expect that a $170 housing will be. Don't blame manufacturers for your complete lack of knowledge and experience in a very specialized photographic discipline that most divers take years to learn.

Get flooding insurance. Learn how to protect your camera. Test the housing. Ask other divers.

The only possible limitation is that the rated depth is only 100 feet. But considering this housing is only $170, and an Ikelite pro-level housing is $500+, this little gem is a great deal.

overpriced
This camera bag started to unravel, when i purchased it... It is overpriced...If I had to do all over again... I would not have purchased the item..

Nice Camera Bag
I really like this camera bag, the only thing I dislike is there is no pocket in the back to hold my camera book. Instead there is a strap (that tucks inside a flap that snaps shut but the sides are open,) to put this bag around your waist. But if it was full I would find it hard to carry around your waist. Also the strap is attached to the bag and I can't remove it. I can't see that I would ever use this.
But other wise very well made, price is kinda high but it seems all camera bags are, but after looking for awhile for one that would hold my camera, 2 lenses and flash, this is the one to do it.

Enough Space for every gadget.
I bought the smaller version of this bag, but I rapidly outgrew it. In search for a bag that would hold my ever growing list of gadgets I narrowed it down to the 10EG. What helped me choose was that since I already owned the smaller version, I knew the good quality of the bag and how well it protect my gear traveling around. With this new bag, now I feel I dont have enough gagdets to fit in it. It is really spacious but not bulky. In my last trip I fit in an SLR body with a stadard lense, an 80-300 zoom lense, both with hoods; four filters with cases; a lupe, extra batteries, a digital cammera with all the accesories and charger, a camcorder with accesories and charger. It all fit in nicely.

I STILL can't find the fine print that says "Base Station Not Included!" This just went from a good deal to not-worth-the-money. I hope it works like magic....

Comment about "Base station not included"
Actually, this is a good thing (atleast for people like me). I already have an Intel wireless base station and mouse. This seprate keyboard gives me the flex to add a keyboard to it.

I don't have it, so I cannot rate it. Its in my wish list, if anyone wants to donate ;->

    Good, but not recommended
Before the age of the internet and multimedia, the 101/102 key IBM-style keyboard was predominant. Only recently keyboard makers switched to something much, much more useful. Intel's new keyboard features a semi-connected wrist-pad, a few internet buttons, and a wireless connection to your PC. So far, so good. it does not feature the one-click sleep-mode button and because this is not a PC vendor-supplied keyboard, it does not have a button connecting you directly to the vendor's upgrade site. This in itself is not bad.

New keyboards have volume knobs, which is so useful nowadays, when so many people watch DVD movies on their PCs. Unfortunately, Intel's internet keyboard does not have a volume-knob. You will be satisfied with this keyboard, but I would suggest to look elsewhere. It's quite an expensive keyboard, but for the same price you will find the full-featured peripheral.
