Magically Hopeless- I wasted lot of time in installing the required drivers
Be smart don't go for this, even when it's given FREE !!!
Do not even bother considering this camera.1. Unless you have three or more high-wattage bulbs burning in the room, your picture quality will consist of lovely dim shadowy objects.
2. When you *do* succeed in making a snapshot, the image is either so tiny it does no good, or it is nearly as pixelized as an old Commomore 64c or Atari game. This is unsatisfactory for showing your Internet friends what you look like or showing your parents your new nose-ring.
3. The security function works...sort of. It takes pictures when it detects motion or on a set timed interval that you can vary (1 minute, 5 minutes, 30 minutes, etc.), but working *with* the images after capture is frustrating. The program crashes randomly when trying to view the images within the program, and when viewed using Windows Explorer, for some reason the image quality suffers even more than usual. Occasionally, I would set the camera to watch the front door area overnight, and it would simply stop after about twenty minutes. No computer problems, no Windows problems. The program simply glitched...multiple times.
If you buy this camera, email me and I shall pray for your deliverance from its nasty impish ways.
Sláinte...
hmm... I wonder if the factory settings are off.I couldn't believe the reviews I was reading from amazon and circuit city that this camera is so bad. So I checked manufacturer website if they make different model. but this was only model they are making.
If you haven't returned your camera. give it another shot by downloading new software(4/17/03) or change the settings to the above. I'm switching all my existing web cams with this model.

Keep looking - this ain't it!
Lousy CameraI bought this camera to use during the Christmas holidays. I tried to use it the first time to take a picture of the Christmas tree, all I saw was complete darkness. Then I realized that I needed more light. So I turned on all the lights in the house and it was still darkness. If you plan to use this camera indoor, please forget about it! No way.
It isn't that great outdoor neither. I took many pictures with the automatic exposure setting. It cannot handle anything with a bright background. It will just be VERY bright.
I tried to use it on the ski slopes. I think it is because of the cold temperature, the camera has to be reset often. To make the matter worse, the pictures turned out literally "twisted".
I can't belive a HP camera can have so many flaws. Very disappointing. Please don't buy one.

Doesn't hold a charge
Decent, but not greatFor one thing, the 735 camera is not a good fit. It goes in behind a tight elastic strap. If you aren't paying attenion, you end up turning the camera on as you slide it in. Of course, the lens extends then, and if you've got the bag tightly packed with batteries, I'm afraid the lens motor would be damaged. This is easy enough to avoid, but that one time you aren't paying attention..... Secondly there is just no good way to store batteries. The main compartment is divided by an elastic strap. The strap doesn't go to the bottom of the bag. Therefore, batteries are always getting up under the camera, and just aren't where they are "Supposed" to be when you need them. Minor annoyances, yes, but it would have been SO EASY to make the silly bag without this nonsense!
Batteries and charger: I have NOT had problems with the batteries like some said. I did follow the directions and charge them up, then run them fully down several times. Since I did that, they hold up better than alkalines. Maybe the others had bad batteries, or maybe they hadn't exercised them enough.
Bottom line. For the price it's pretty good, since you get 4 batteries. If you're watching your money, get this kit and you'll be fine. If you want or can afford something better, I'd skip it and get a better bag from a camera store.

Nothing to write home about
Found better for less.
If onlyThe "Universal Battery Charger (23-419)" can do 4, and is half the cost of the Olympus. The "Rechargeable Battery Fast Charger (23-422)" can do 8, which, considering the way the D-340R eats batteries, you might want. It is almost the price of this model here, but with twice the capacity. Neither come with NiMH batteries.
After returning the Olympus charger, I got the size 8 one and it works fine. The batteries are sold separately but you will still come out ahead.
Do yourselves a favor, skip this one

- Lens Accessory Adapter
- Works with Canon PowerShot G3 and G5 cameras
- Accepts 58mm filters
List price: $24.99 (that's 32% off!)
Used price: $22.37

Not really a review, but a cautionAs such, I'm sure this lens adapter works fine on the G1 and G2, but I can't be totally sure of this, having not used it.
Works as expected - wrong color for the G5Now for some facts about the adapter:
* It is made to enable you to use 58mm filters, Macro-, Tele- or Wide-angle converter on your G3 or G5 (and it is also required for these).
* It will not work with your G1 or G2.
* People seem to be getting this wrong all the time: The LA-DC58 is only for the G1, G2, and this adapter (LA-DC58B) is only for the G3 and G5.
Pros:
* Quite durable - Hard plastic that has so far taken quite a pounding, and basically not a single chip or scratch.
* Works fine with any 58mm filter
* It is lightweight, so it will not weight your camera down. Of course, anything you put on the adapter is likely to be quite heavy.
Cons:
* The color - It is silver, something that matches the G3 in color, but since the G5 is black - it really doesn't look that nice on the G5.
* The shape - It is in the way of the flash on wide-angle view on the G3/G5. You can still use the flash unobstructed when you zoom a bit - probably to around 2x zoom.
Conclusion: It does what it is supposed to do, but Canon really should have taken the time to give you the choice between a G3 colored and a G5 colored. There is also the issue of the converter partly blocking the flash. It is still a necessary piece of equipment if you want to use a Tele or Wide-angle converter, or a 58mm filter on your Canon Powershot G3 or G5. It's a good piece of equipment, but due to its obvious drawbacks, I can only give it 3 stars!!!

A disappointment, to put it mildlyThe UV filter is a standard 55mm diameter, much larger than the Olympus lens. It is attached to the camera by means of a two piece adaptor which is a terrible kludge. When installed, the edge of the filter can be seen through the viewfinder, obscuring the view of the subject. There has to be a better solution.
Discarding those items, I am left with an overpriced AC adaptor, a cheap lens cleaning kit (I already have two) and some software which I didn't bother to try. I have no use for the tripod or for the smart media wallet. I am returning the kit and taking a trip to my local camera store.
There were only a few items which interested me in the first place, and those didn't turn out to be of any value. The rest is padding to raise the price of the package. Save your money.
Bag is small but has it's value...The remote and tripod I use a lot for group photos. Let's you setup the camera and take a picture with YOU IN IT!!! Very usefull at family gatherings. AC adaptor is the thing I use the least, you need a card reader if you are going to do any kind of volume picture taking. Way faster, and easier to use than the serial port connectors. Besides, the camera has such great battery life, why use it? I recommend the kit to everyone. There is a big difference between a camera BAG and a camera CASE!!
Camera bag tight for the C3000 camera
The jacket is made of vinyl that offers good protection for the camera, and the lens part of the camera fits into a rubber fitting. There is a rubber bellow which is pulled out for use in the P-71 to allow for the zoom lens to move freely while it is snapped down for use in the P-51. A transparent panel protects the lens, and I couldn't tell a difference in the picture quality with or without it. The jacket also comes with two replacement panels. Moisture is an enemy of cameras, and the jacket provides some but not a lot of protection against it. There is a metal zipper along the bottom of the jacket and a velcro strap on the side which goes over two vinyl flaps. This allows for battery and memory card change without having to take the entire jacket off.
Now the cons: The mode dial can't be turned at all because of the tight fitting vinyl which is a great inconvience to me, and the viewfinder can't be used because the rubber part in the front obstructs the view. Therefore the LCD has to be used which consumes battery power. That's about all for the cons; all other functions of the camera can be used with ease.
