Casio QV-3000 Digital Camera AC Adapter

Save batteries but at a high price!
I bough this to power my Digital camera during download but more important, when I output my camera to a TV (which I often do at the end of the day when several people want to select the pictures they want a copy of).

I am very happy with the product but wonder why the company do not sell the AC adapter with the camera.

Most people I know either bought one or a second (and third) set of rechargeable batteries)...

    Save your batteries!
This is totally worth the money! I hate wasting battery power on reviewing and deleting pictures, especially since it has the IBM Microdrive! You can spend an inordinate amount of time reviewing pictures and this will definitely save your batteries! Also helps when you are reviewing the pictures on your tv screen.

    Necessary item
If you own the camera, you need this AC adapter. When you're downloading your pictures into the computer, or just using the camera indoors, it's nice to not drain your batteries. This convenience is definitely worth the price.

Good lens but a few problems
Received lens as a gift, was thinking of buying myself. Was impressed with the looks of this monster, looks very expensive to unfamiliar folks. I use this lens on my Canon Elan 7e and from the start had a problem that I wasnt informed of when bought by friend. Problem was that certain Sigma lenses don't work properly with the new Canon camera. After some research, i found I had to ship my lens to New York Sigma factory for a free upgrade, A+. received lens in a few weeks and problem was solved. Other problem was the tripod collar is in bad spot for use with some Bogan tripod heads. the head must be used sidewards to be used with the lens. Not a big problem but a problem. Next problem is that when carrying camera with lens attached and pointing downward, the lens slides to the fully extended position and could get damaged by banging into things when not noticed right away. Other than that I like the lens. Its definitely not a pro lens but it will serve the advanced amateur well.

    Top rated Lens
One of the best on the market. Even using a 2x adapter to get 1000mm. It is big and not too heavy and has a tripod collar ring for added stability.

    reasonably priced, sharp and clear
This is a moderately priced alternative telephoto lens. Althought quite bulky, lens are not heavy, and they fit perfectly well in my LowePro Min-Trekker backpack.

Lens are not fast enought to take pictures without a tripod in less then bright light conditions, however, if you can afford a longer exposure times and tripod, you can get good results. Not suited for sports or fast animal photography, but if you want zoom into the landscape, architecture or people, here is a perfectly fine lens...There is really no good alternative lens if you need a range of 170-500 mm.

    This Player works Awesome!!
Great Volume, FM is average but I've droped it many times and never had a problem. Very Great purchase!!

A must-have addition to your Pocket Concert player
If you're buying an Intel Pocket Concert, save yourself some time and get the accessory kit right off the bat (or choose the package that includes it with the player). You'll want this kit...

For a start, it adds rechargeability to the Pocket Concert, sporting a pair of nickel metal hydride (NiMH) "memory free" AAA batteries. The docking station featured in this kit serves as your desktop charger... Just insert the Pocket Concert, and it'll begin refreshing your batteries.

The docking station doubles as a fancy (and more practical) USB connection to your PC for downloading your tunes into the player. And while I question the value of the feature, the docking station also has a pair of RCA connectors providing line-level output for your stereo system (or to the line inputs on your computer, presumably).

The carrying case is superb. According to the brand legend on the zipper pulls, this is a Case Logic case -- a fact that Intel doesn't bother to present. But typical of Case Logic products, it's a well made and useful way to carry around your Pocket Concert.

Finally, the standard issue cassette adapter provides you an easy way to play your Pocket Concert on the move in your car, or anywhere a standard cassette deck is available.

The reason I rate it 4 stars, not 5? Price... At late-2001 "ballpark" pricing, this kit boosts the overall price of the Pocket Concert ..., which is at the high-end for 128 Meg audio players. (By the time you read this, no doubt pricing and competitive issues will likely be different, so make your own assessment.)

But price aside, it's still an important thing for any Pocket Concert user to have.

    Accessory Kit is Great!!!
The accessory kit is awesome!! I have the dock set up by my home stereo with a cord running to my computer. It is nice becasue you can send songs directly to it from your computer and then play them through your stereo. The only minor complaint is the rechargable batteries do not last as long as real batteries but I was able to go over six hours on a plane with them. I only wish it had a remote.

    A little pity
A little pity that it doesn't have a main dial and an AE lock on it. it gets really hard to use automatica exposure when you are shooting vertical. Otherwise a very nice accessory of ElanII.

    Buy This Necessity
If you have this camera and a functional lens for it, then buy this accessory before any other and begin to save money on batteries immediately. By using AA batteries you save enough money to pay for this thing quite soon, and if you use rechargeables, like I do, for nearly everything that uses AA batteries, you pay for it even quicker.
It adds a balance to these cameras which helps you feel comfortable taking photos from angles you would have hesitated from before. As a former full-time journalist I started carrying this type of camera because they were cheap enough to have several alike, you didn't get your heart broken if they got destroyed, and you can find plenty of affordable, useful accessories for them. This is not a luxury item, but a necessity. Buy it!

Excellent investment...and it looks cool !!!!
Can't think of anything bad to say about this little gadget. You'll save money and time by using the AA battery option, and when you attach this to your EOS body, people take notice. This is a very professional working and looking tool.

    too tight for nikon 5000
This is a nice leather case. The only thing I would complain about is that it's a little bit tight for Nikon 5000. It doesn't fit with the lens cap on.

    Why not leather?
I bought this case for my Nikon Coolpix 4300. It has pleanty of room for the camera and any accessories you might need. Compared to the silver nylon case designed for the coolpix 4300, this leather case is certainly an upgrade from the standard coolpix case. why not pay a couple extra bucks to keep your investment warm and fuzzy? it has a a zippered mesh pocket in the interior and a velcro flap pocket on the exterior. only complaint is that the closure system is a snap lock and not zippered. Buy this case for your nikon coolpix; you won't be disapointed, unless you go for the cheap stuff.

    A MUST HAVE
There is room in a zippered mesh compartment inside the lid for 20 CompactFlash Memmory cards. 3 spare batteries can be stored in the cases front velcro enclosure, plus 1 in the camera, giving the case a capacity of 4 batteries. A Coolpix 5000 fits into the case perfectly snug (facing the lens out and the grip up) with a little space left on top to coil the shoulder strap. The soft and supple black leather case is well padded to protect your loved one.

    But I have a question
The VF-58CPKS kit including a PL filter and an UV filter is supposed to support 58mm camera such as F717.
But in your introduction it's been changed to Wide angle and support the 37mm lens? Maybe it's a big mistake. Below is from Sony:

    Circular Polarizing Filter Kit
    VF-58CPKS
Use this circular polarizing filter to suppress unwanted reflections off glass and water and protects lens from dust and scratches at the same time. It fits a Sony 58 mm diameter lenses

    To riverofchina:
58mm is the lens front diameter, and the 37mm is the focal length of the lens. These are somewhat independent values. Because of possible vegneting, particular polarizer filter can't be used with the whide angle lens, that has focal length lesser of certain minimal value (37mm in case of Sony VF58CPKS, as I get it).

May not be a Nikon but still a great lens
What a great lens. It is not perfect but I really like it. Currently I have only compared it side by side with my Nikon 135 3.5 prime and it holds up pretty good, I have done two side by side tests first one showed the nikon sharper and with better color saturation, but the second test I could not tell the difference. (I need to do some more tests) When I am shooting surfers ok kite surfing @~300, sometimes I go into manual focus because the AF is too slow or gets confused, also in low light I use MF too. I am using this on a D100 and the combination is great for a very flexible lightweight combination. For me this lens is sharp enough and helps me create some beautiful pictures having this big range offers in combination with digital, I take so many photo's so quickly that I come out with a good photo every couple of days (still only 1 in 500 shots :)

I just thought about shopping for a new Nikon lens and I just could not find anything that got me excited enough. I think if they come out with a 80-400 AF-S 2.8 for <1500$ I would buy one. But I would still keep this Tamaron and use it for a lot of the stuff I do (travel, hiking, snapshots)

Good luck. If super fast AF in difficult conditions and seriously sharp(prime nikon) photo's are not your biggest concerns, this lens should work well for you. Too me it feels like decent quality considering how light it is.

    Good luck.

    Great all-around lens for amateurs
My husband has this lens for his XTSi, and he hasn't taken it off of his camera body since he got it two years ago. It does have some heft to it, and it does slow down the autofocus in low light conditions, but overall, it's a great lens for the amateur photographer, especially someone who doesn't want to invest hundreds in different zoom lenses and then have to lug all of them around with you. Also, not having to change lenses is a big bonus -- Never again will you ever miss a shot because you couldn't get in tight enough!

THE POINT---Im using it and not just for camera
I am one of those people with several high tech small equipments who is always on the go.

This bag is great. I'm using it for my VAIO V505EC Sony laptop. It works wonders. hey, I dont normally write reviews bec. it takes most of my time, but I have to recommend this bag.

I am advising people to buy this if they want a backpack for their small equipment. Dont think about those bulky SLR cameras or 15-17 inches of laptop. Think portability. If you want to glide around the city withouth an aching back then I want you to buy this camera/laptop/ipod backpack.

Hey, you may be wondering how in the world am I going to fit my sony vaio laptop,eh? well, the dividers you see in the photo is quite deceiving. its just velcro divider- that means you can manipulate the end and stuff. Anyway, to hold my laptop, I use two velcro divider to strap ot. Truthfully, I end up using a longer velcro from another bag. It works well! my expensive laptop is held togther by the strap bec of the velcro.

No more descriptiopn of the velcor. its boring me.

Bottom line---this bag is cheap and on SALE. You cant go wrong bec it is made from good material and it has pockets for batteries and films. Targus struck my heart with such ingenuity.

Im taking my time writing this review bec. i love this bag. backpacks and cases from sony will cost me 80 dollars (not including the hideous tax and repulsive shipping fee). Well, i got a free gigantic laptop bag from Sony..huhuhu.. I'm petite size 5'3 so I look pathetic with the gigantic bag over me. But with this bag, no body knows that I have a laptop in it. Its a humble bag. I am not scared to walk around New York with it.

There--i poured my heart. Just give me a call if you want to chat. :) Mwaa!

Great Bag-But Not for SLR Cameras
As usual from Targus, this is a great bag: well thought out and excellent sturdy construction. But, in spite of the Pro Series in the name, it is definitely not a Pro bag. The bag is not appropriate for SLR cameras or even Prosumer level video. It is great for consumer level products, with enough room for a point and shoot and handheld camcorder and accessories, and some other gadgets, like a separate pouch that attaches to the front strap for your cell phone.

    Use ISO 64 Setting
Having a Konica Minolta DiMage X with which I am very happy, I decided to get this camera when I wanted an 8MP camera with better zoom capability. At first I was unpleasantly surprised with the amount of noise (color specks) showing in the pictures. Later I discovered that by putting the ISO setting on 64 instead of Auto, the noise is greatly reduced. Now I'm basically happy with the camera, but it seems that they should mention this in the documentation. Pictures at the highest ISO settings (400 and 800) are really bad - I guess these settings are there only for extreme low-light situations.

The electronic viewfinder is amazing. I'm nearsighted and have trouble with the LCD display, but I can easily see everything in the viewfinder (including menus and playback of pictures). I just keep the LCD off all the time.

gets the shake out &much more!
I HAVE PARKINSON'S DESEASE, THIS CAMERA GETS THE SHAKE OUT, AND THE QUAILITY IS GREAT. THE PHOTOS ARE CRISP AND CLEAR. OPERATION IS SIMPLE. WAIT TIL YOU TRY THE VIDEO, THE SOUND AND FILMING IS SIMPLE. LOVE THIS CAMERA!.

    Ideal for serious photographer
If you are interested in taking black-and-white photographs for creative photography, A2 is the perfect choice! As compared to other competitors at the similar price and resolution (8 MP), A2 has the following good features. 1. It has a black-and-white mode. 2. The file can be saved as TIFF for artistic editing without losing resolution after repeated saving. 3. The battery function is satisfied. 4. A2 has a rapid focusing and antishake device.

As an owner of a Canon S230 Elph
I don't actually own this case (because it wasn't available when I was looking for one) but I have the PSC-300, which is a dark blue suede-like material case made for the S300 and S330. My camera fits nicely into the PSC-300, and it has a front zipper pocket with enough space to store extra compact flash cards and a battery. If you own a S200 or S230, don't care about the leather and want extra storage space, the PSC-300 may be the way to go.

    Nice camera case
This is a very nice camera case. My S-400 fits in this little case snugly and perfectly. The case is made with pretty good quality leather and c'mon, for about $10, you can't ask for too much more. And for those of you looking for extra pockets and more padding, look into getting a camera bag and forget about this case. For those of you looking for something to protect the camera from scratches, or something with a belt loop, this is the case for you.

    Just what I needed
This is exactly what I was looking for in a case: something form-fitting but not so tight that I have to pry my camera out of it. It protects my camera, but it's still small enough to pocket. There's a very large patch of Velcro inside the flap, so flipping the case closed is not a precision act; just close it and the flap sticks. The Velcro is enough to offer a nice tight closure and still allow quick removal of the camera. There are gaps at the top corners, but the flap is wide enough that the camera itself remains substantially protected.

The case provides fine protection from scuffs and scratches, and probably offers a reasonable amount of drop protection as well. No, there's no extra room for batteries or flash cards in there; this is a small protective case for a small camera. Put it in a big case, and you've lost much of the benefit of the camera's diminutive size. For me, it's a case like this or nothing.

Some people don't like the way you're supposed to thread the strap through the hole in the lid. Simple; I don't bother. I have no problem with the strap sticking out the side of the top flap, and it doesn't interfere with use of the case (frankly, it makes it easier). One thing: the camera only fits properly with its lens facing the front of the case. Put it in backwards, and every time you pull it out, the little switch that toggles between taking pictures and displaying them will be pushed to the 'display' side.

I'm very fussy about camera cases, but I was quite pleased to find that this one does exactly what I need without any features that make the camera unpleasant to carry or difficult to get out for a quick shot.
