Should have come with the camera
I think it's a bit of a rip-off to make you buy this separate from the cameras. The case is attractive and well-made, but all it holds is the camera and maybe some extra batteries, although I suspect 4 extra AA's will be a tight fit in the one pocket in front, or in lieu of batteries, an extra compact flash card. My A70 came with 4 rechargeable AA's. They should really just put the case in with the camera and either include the charger too, or let people fend for themselves with buying some other manufacturer's battery recharger. Seems like a ploy to sell battery chargers to me. I could have bought a charger with batteries for the same price as this kit. I only bought this to get the case.

Great Pruduct Bundle
I bought this bundle for my A75 and it's a great product overall. It has all you need to carry and power you canon A-series digital camera. The batteries are great and you can shoot for couple of days with them without needing to be recharged. The charger is nice and very portable, though I wish it had a power cord instead of connecting directly to the outlet.
I didn't give five start because, as someone already has pointed it out, I think at least the batteries and charger should come with the camera. However, at this price it's a good value and a must for canon A-series digital camera owners.

A must have if you've purchased the Powershot "A" Series.
The litmus test of a good product (typically) is it's availability (not always, but in this case, for certain!). Well, as I attempted to find the A Series accessory kit, I became incredibly frustrated with the following messages: "Out of Stock," "Backordered," "Arriving Soon." Whether my theory of "everyone with an A Series wants one" or whether Canon just doesn't produce enough of these these kits is really irrelevant; if you own an A Series, this kit is a must.

First, the compact case is a streamlined and perfect fit; not a bulky case. And, every camera, particularly these expensive digitals, must have some kind of protection. Okay, preliminaries out of the way, the case is just the cherry. The real beef to this kit is the charger and NiMH rechargeable batteries.

Depending on your use of your camera (and disregarding its powersaving features), AA batteries do not have abundant life. My solution is to have an extra set of non-rechargable AAs with me at all times (which can be conveniently stored in the front pouch of the accompanying case) while using the rechargables. By using this scheme, I'll always be prepared when taking photos. After I get home, I pop the rechargables in the charger, which is very compact and can be plugged in nearly any convenient outlet, and use the non-rechargables. To recharge all four batteries is something less than 4 hours; not bad, all-in-all.

At the price, this is an accessory kit that all A Series owners should strongly consider.

Overheats
This charger could not charge the Visor without overheating after 15 minutes. Either it had to be unplugged and set aside for 10 minutes, or a fan had to be directed against it to be able to charge the Visor. The housing is poorly constructed.

For Diabetics using the Freestyle Bloodsugar Tracker Module
from Therasense, this provides the flexibility to travel! The cradle for the Handspring Visor Pro that came with this blood sugar monitor/Diabetes Management System stays hooked up to the back of my computer so my test results can be hot-synched to the computer; it is awkward to unplug. I wear an Insulin Infusion Pump 24/7 and the Tracker lets me fine-tune my daily insulin doses to my actual blood sugars. With this small, lightweight cord that plugs into any electric outlet, I don't have to worry that the Visor battery will run down while I'm away from home. Attaches easily to Visor, no overheating problems here. Freedom!

This charger is just what I wanted for traveling
Charges as well as a cradle but is much easier to carry around with me. I read ebooks while I am away from work or home and the batteries for my prisim wear out before I have a chance to get back. I recommend this for anyone who buys a visor and is not at the office every day.

Poor reliability
This item broke after 6 months. This is a very handy item to have especially since you can charge batteries while you are using the camera. You have to be very careful plugging and unplugging into the ac outlet or the unit breaks easily.

Flimsy
This charger is speedy and compact -- necessities for effective picture-taking.

But the plug (which pivots out from the unit to plug into a wall) is flimsy. After only five months of occasional use, the pivot came loose and now the plug doesn't carry power into the charger. So I can waste time getting warranty service, or I can spend $80 for a new charger.

Best Battery Charger for Camera's
I love this item as you just plug it in, no extra wires to mess with. The plug is connected to the battery charger.

Not a Car Charger
It should be noted that this travel charger is for plugging into an AC wall outlet, and not for use in an automobiles DC cigarette lighter.

for vacation
It works but it is alot slower than your hotsync cradle. .But,it does the job.

Essential Accessory
Top notch product.

Simply plug it into the bottom of your Prism, wait an hour and your Prism is fully charged and ready to go.

I've used it for three months now with no problems whatsoever. The transformer (Converts the AC to DC) is relatively small and it has a long cord for utility.

Batteries don't hold a charge
I bought this set for my new digital camera and am highly dissapointed. The batteries do not hold a charge as well as other brands do. While the charger may work fine for other things, do not expect your digital camera to run for more than 20 shots on these meek things. Overall, I am very dissapointed and do not recommend this product.

The best charger!
I've bought this charger with my first Kodak DC-280 camera two years ago. This is a very good charger. Solid, no any moving parts - nothing to brake, good indicator, international power support, do not overchage or undercharge battaries, absolutely silent. The best charger!

Works great
This works great with my Canon A40 digital camera. An added bonus is the fact that this will work on international voltage too - so I dont need an additional converter when I travel.

Buyer beware - it's not an AC adapter.
There isn't much information on the detail page, so it's very easy to make the mistake I made and think that it's an AC adapter for the Zaurus. It's not. You have to take the battery -out- of the Zaurus to charge it with this charger. That forces the Zaurus onto backup-battery power, which doesn't last long. So this charger is completely useless unless you want to buy a second battery, which is another fifty bucks.

if you get the extra battery -- get this too!
dont buy an extra battery for your Zaurus if you dont also get this. You'll always have a charged battery if you get this plus an extra battery (of course you need to be sure to put the drained battery in the charger!)

Elegant in its simplicity
This charger is great, it has a single plug cord (identical to the one used with the power supply that comes with the Zaurus) and a small charging block that the battery snaps into. An LED indicates charging status (on its charging, off its done). It couldn't be simpler. My only complaint is that sharp uses a battery that can be inserted upside-down, this isn't the fault of the charger, you can do the same thing in your handheld.

Good product, questionable customer support
I received the radio yesterday and I like its size and features. Unfortunately, the unit cane with a set of four AAA 650mAh NiMH batts whos general quality is extremely poor: on two of the batteries, the positive end is either not properly plated, or is already corroding. Worse, a third one is shorted and will not take a charge. I called warranty support to see if they would simply send me a set of new batts, but they refused. I talked to a supervisor, and she refused, I then talked to the supervisor's supervisor and she refused. They want me to return the entire unit (at my expense) for for repair/replacement (possibly with a refurb unit).

I put in a set of alkalines and all works well. I'm going to mail back the 4 NiMH's tomorrow and see what Audiovox does.

Excellent unit. Throw out the packed-in batteries
After using the FRS1000 base stations for a couple of years, this unit was an excellent upgrade. I am about to get another one when it goes on sale. The last time it was on sale it was less than fifty dollars--anything higher is just too much for a glorified intercom which is how I use these. The no-name NiMH batteries are useless, but don't throw them in the garbage--take them to the hazmat section of your local dump. The hand-held unit works great with new batteries.

The channels that are GMRS can each be programmed in low/high power modes but you have to manually do this for each channel. The unit sometimes takes a while to recognize CTCSS codes from other units (even the FRS1000 which is also by Audiovox) but this appears to be the fault of the signal coming from some of the other units rather than of this unit. The coverage is excellent and the sound is much better than other base stations. The antenna is shorter than the FRS1000 but seems not to make any difference. I wonder how the close-by hand-held's antenna might affect the propagation of the main antenna, but so far so good. No AC hum in broadcasting from this unit, either, like the older FRS1000 had.

I don't use the handheld terribly much but it is very basic carry-around that I use when working in the yard. If they made this unit with just a base station it would be a perfect product, but it's nice to have the hand-held right next to the door with the expectation that you will return it to the cradle when you get back inside. This is a major plus since you won't lose it! I don't recall ever hearing a low-battery alert and have returned from working long hours in the yard several times to find the hand-held unit dead on my belt.

Like another reviewer said the battery backup is just for the hand-held. Unlike the FRS1000, which continues to run the base station when the power goes out, the GMRS3000 does not run. You can be stuck without the intercom when the power goes out. If the hand-held is not in the charging cradle and the power goes out the settings on the base station are lost so make sure you store the hand-held in the base station at all times.

The weather radio has better coverage than some others. I don't recall ever hearing a weather alert on this unit so I recommend that you get a dedicated weather radio with a really long antenna for that purpose. I use a Radio Shack unit with SAME technology, something that none of the FRS/GMRS radios never have.

I'm always looking for good FRS and GMRS base stations. I'm puzzled how few there are, especially none from the "big" electronics companies and retailers who fought so long and so hard to create the FRS band.

Light and small, like the camera.
One of these chargers is supplied with the Canon S100/Ixus, but it's good to have a spare. (when you really need one in a few years, they'll be out of production). Like the camera, this charger is really small (same size as camera) and even lighter.

Note that on the US version of the charger (this one), two US-style AC pins flip out from the body of the charger, so you need an unobstructed socket to plug it into. On the European model you plug a cable into the figure-of-8 connector on the side, handy if you want to change cable for a different country. Both models work on all voltages.

essential for on-the-go shooters
if you need to use your camera on-the-go, then i totally recommend a spare charger and battery for the s100. the battery is a proprietary form, so you can't simply walk into a corner store and pick one up!

Only lasted a few months
This worked fine at first but after a few months, the charger could not hold the AAA batteries in place. The spring mechanisms failed for 3 out of the 4 positions that would hold the AAA batteries. Thus, I could no longer charge the AAA batteries. Then after a while, the charger just quit working all together.

Convenience & Quality!
Having a teenager who eats up AA batteries constantly, the Kodak Rapid Charger solves this problem easily. Recharges batteries in 3 hours which is much quicker than overnight. Some charges can take up to 12 hours. This charger is made for digital cameras and elctronics that drain batteries quickly. You can rechage AA or AAA batteries. An added bounus is that this particular unit comes with 4 AA rechargeable batteries. A Great solution at a great price from a well-known name like Kodak. What more could you ask.

Pretty happy with it
I must be a battery charger junkie. I bought my first NiCd battery charger when they first came out, and I still remember how big and awesome-looking it was. And it charged two AA NiCd batteries in, oh, 24 hours. Then the batteries would run down after about 5 hours in my Walkman. Those were the good old days.

Anyway, nowadays I must have more than half a dozen battery chargers. What I like about the Kodak Rapid Charger is it does a very reliable job of charging four NiMH batteries in a few hours. The exact charge time depends on (i) AA or AAA, (ii) how many batteries, (iii) how much charge is left in the batteries, (iv) the total capacity of the batteries (e.g., 1600 vs. 2400),(v) room temperature, and (vi) random factors that even the electrical engineers don't have a clue about. Suffice it to say that a fresh set of 4 AA batteries will charge in about 3 hours, give or take half an hour. Much better than the overnight chargers.

Also, compared to my Radio Shack stock rapid charger, the Kodak can charge any number of batteries, up to four, whereas the Radio Shack must do four. The Kodak also seems to trickle charge better, because on the same set of batteries, I seem to get longer life out of a charge down on the Kodak than on the Radio Shack. My other chargers are Ravoyac which I like the most, but the Kodak is also a good, and it cost less than a comparable Rayovac I was looking at.

Anyway, this is a solid battery charger for AA and AAA batteries.

iConcepts Hotsync Charger
Not impressed. Charged fine but the adapter to my iPAQ was not secure at all. Any slight motion of the cable and the pda lost connection to my computer. So, unless you plan on not bumping your cable or ipaq EVER while syncing, i'd steer away from this. Also ran into power issues with the iConcepts cradle.

Works Great
Overall I've been pretty impressed with my ipaq acccessories from iConcepts. I travel a lot and didn't want to tote around my desktop charger. Then I found this guy that charges with the USB port. I don't sync it w/ my laptop when I travel (although I should) but it charges just fine. The cable is a tad stiff, and I'm careful not to bend it

Convenient But..
Very handy idea works good but connect is not secure (iPAQ 3630). On an older lap top it shuts down and pops up an error that the iPAQ was drawing too much power. All in all it beats the bulky cradle.
