Kind of noisy
I bought this product for my son who has minor dust alergies. Firstly, how do you tell if it's even working to clean the air? I don't notice a difference. But really, my son's room is small (perhaps 10x12), but I purchased this larger unit (than the 17000) in hopes it would do an even better job (and perhaps clear a bit of the air in the hallway as well). My complaint is that even on the lowest setting, it is pretty loud in a small room. Perhaps to an adult it might pass as "white noise", but to a 6 year old, it's just noise keeping him awake. I was able to reduce the noise when I moved the unit into a space between his dresser and bookcase, but then it really can't draw the amount of air it's supposed to to clean correctly - I believe Honeywell suggests 3' clearance. I have nothing really negative to say, but be aware of the noise if you're planning on putting this in a child's room.

It Sticks and Protects But !!!
I will keep it simple and direct. This product is easy to install
and sticks well without adhesive. The problem with this product as
with similar products, is that where the protector, which is clear, comes in contact with the LCD you lose clarity. No matter how you clean the LCD the result is the same. I have a Canon Powershot S50 that I'm trying to protect without that film appearing at the contact point. I don't know if I'm allowed to suggest another product but I have ordered a product that has a small frame around the protector so that the protector doesn't touch the LCD screen. (...)

    Good Solutions for the Price
After reading so many negative reviews for the Tungsten E hard case, I began looking for other options. My search led me to this accessory pack, which does a decent job at a very affordable price.

The case is semi-rigid ballistic nylon with a nice quality zipper enclosure on three sides. My guess is that it would keep its contents safe from moderate shocks or compression (both flat and on the corners). It's also attractive in a low-profile sort of way. On the inside, there are slots for a few credit cards or ID badges as well as two smaller ones for Palm expansion cards. The only two drawbacks are that the case doesn't lie flat portfolio-style when opened (this may ease up with age) and the only method of securing your Palm to the case is an enclosed Velcro sticker. I've never been a fan of attaching sticky items onto electronics, although the case of my Tungsten E is so ugly I may break my policy.

The multi-function pen is not exactly as pictured - it's much bigger than I expected and unfortunately too big to fit in the case. However, there's a lot of functionality in there: a black pen, a pink (!) highlighter, a mechanical pencil and a Palm Stylus. It's lightweight but almost to the point of feeling cheap and it rattles when you write with it. Plus, the method of selecting which point pops out is a little cumbersome and it's probably only a matter of time before I write on my Palm with highlighter. The packaging includes instructions for replacing the ink and pencil, so at least it promises life beyond the initial cartridges.

Finally, the screen protectors are just that. They work - that's about all you can say. I expect that they'll keep me from freaking out when I inevitably highlight on my screen.

So, while the solutions are far from perfect, you'd be hard-pressed to find a package so all-encompassing or budget-conscious. A must-have for a new Palm user, student, etc.

    Poorly built for the price
This humidifier definitely worked well, but it's so poorly designed and built that the plastic panels rattle at any fan speed. I bought two of these and both had the exact same problems with rattling panels. Both were subsequently returned. Which is a shame, because when it doesn't rattle, it performs admirably. The tanks are easy to fill if you unscrew the caps (instead of using their weird twist-and-fill valves). The remote is a nice feature to help ensure your get desired humidity in an certain area (although by no means a necessity). But for the price, this thing is really a piece of junk.

    poor wick filter
I've found that I'm going through two filters a month because the tops of them dry out and reduce the effectiveness of the humidifier. I've resorted to using filtered water and even that doesn't help much. When the filters are working the humidifier works wonderfully but in the long run it's becoming a very expensive machine. If it wasn't for the wicks I would say it is an excellent machine but with this problem I can't recommend it.

Remote humidity sensor makes the difference
First of all, the complaints--there were only 3 thumbscrews, instead of 4, holding the filter unit to the bottom tank, and a screwcap on one of the tanks was backwards, and needed to be switched around. Also, the remote is supposed to work in the same room, but it didn't when it was placed on a bookcase. I moved it to another part of the room, and set it upright, and it has worked like a charm. The filter indicator is a bit flaky--sometimes it says the filter needs changing, and sometimes it doesn't. I haven't figured that one out yet, though I did buy extra humidifer wicks.

And the praise--once I figured out that the screwcap was backwards, and that the remote humidistat prefers to be upright (or not on a bookcase), it has worked like a charm! It will cycle on and off as needed. The high fan setting is a bit loud, but the medium and low are fine. It is set up in our living room, so the noise doesn't bother us while sleeping. It has enough output to pleasantly humidify our house (1300 sq. ft. main level). My dogs can now roll around on the carpet and not get shocked. I really like the feature of the intake air filters, so I don't have to run an air cleaner in addition to the humidifier. The unit has been running a month now, and I haven't had to change the filter. I do add an anti-microbial to the water tanks when I fill them up.

    Bit on the blurry side
Well, after reading the other reviews I decided to TRY these out against my better judgement. You can write just fine with the overlay applied. There is no problem at all on my M505. However, seeing the screen is a bit tough. Not sure what type of materials they use, but I would think they could find something a bit more transparent. I would recommend that you do NOT buy these overlays. The lack of clarity is reason enough. Application was a breeze though... :)

    One Star Is Too Generous
This is the first Palm-specific product that I would not recommend. It is unclear how many mils thick the product is when applied, but it protects the screen so well that a stylus cannot be used. (It might even protect as well than the blast-resistant window film we use in our embassies and consulates. At least it doesn't have air bubbles when applied.) That may be useful for those who exclusively use a keyboard and simply want to protect the screen. However, as a practical matter it renders the Palm useless for other input methods. The package indicated the product was originally intended for Palm III and Palm V products and subsequently repackaged for M500's, so it should come as no surprise that screen coverage is incomplete (albeit not horribly so). One always takes a risk when purchasing on-line without checking, yet this is my all-time low with Amazon. At least the price didn't break the bank, although I'd have rather have the money to buy a half-dozen more grande lattes!

Pretty much the same as WriteRights.
I also bought these, reading the first two reviews thinking i would get a clear look on my Palm m505. Unfortunately, these overlays are also "embossed" just like the WriteRights, reducing the clarity of the M505s color screen.

These are definately a better buy than the WriteRights though: The overlay sheets are identical, and with the Belkin you get a little piece of cleaning cloth + they are much cheaper.

    THE SCRATCH MAKER
This device is supposed to repair CDs and DVDs, but what it does is the opposite. In repair mode the unit did nothing to repair the scratches which caused skipping on one of my DVDs. In cleaning mode the unit ruined two of my DVDs: the discs developed numerous scratches from the abrasive action of the rotating cleaning pads and were covered by a greasy film caused by the cleaning solution. The circular scratches could not be removed. I was able to remove some of the sticky grease by using dishwashing liquid, warm water, a soft cloth, and plenty of elbow grease, but what developed thereafter were permanent white spots all over the disc.

In the end, I was left with two damaged discs and a lot of wasted time. I returned the item for a refund, but what I spent to replace the discs cost me more, far more.

THIS PRODUCT MUST BE RECALLED IMMEDAITELY.

    Works BUT...
I've used this extensively to clean and fix library discs in horrible shape. It works fine IF YOU DON'T FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS. Always use the cleaner with the abrasive. On really soiled discs, do a cleaning cycle first (otherwise you'll drag grit on the surface). Clean the pads about every five uses. I use Simple Green and running water (dry 'em too) -- you'll get better results, and the pads will last a lot longer.

I haven't noticed the film problem. Maybe they fixed that. Also (just a guess), it's possible that Memorex has quality control problems with the pad's spring tension, causing the swirling scratches mentioned by some reviewers. I have not had this problem except when I experimented with harsher abrasives.

    Fixing the hazy film
I work at a Library that uses this cleaner and we discovered that the film left on the disc was caused by the cleaning solution not the cleaner itself. You can remove the film from the disc if you wipe it with rubbing alcohol. You do need to apply a bit of pressure when wiping. We have begun to clean our discs by spraying them first with rubbing alcohol and not using the solution that was included with the cleaner. I hope this helps.

This item does not work at all,and wrecked my cd drive.

      don't buy it!

This Is A Great New Product!
I think this is a great new product because alot of people, including me, have scratched CD's and wish they could fix them and now there's a way to! This is not alot of money to spend if you consider how much money you spend to buy these CD's and now there is a way to listen to them and not hear that scratchy sound, it also looks like it works well on games too so that you can restore them and make them playable! Thanks for reading my review! I hope it was helpful!

Doesn't work -- brushes come off
On the second use of this product, the brushes came out and are stuck in my car CD player. Now I have to take it in and either have it repaired or replaced because nothing plays on it. Don't buy this unless it's a last ditch effort because you're going to buy a new player anyway.

Brush came off in my player!
Seems like a decent enough product, but on the very first use, one of the brushes fell off of the bottom of the lens cleaner while inside my car CD player, so now I've got a lens cleaner with one brush instead of two, and a fuzzy little brush part somewhere in the innards of my CD player. So far it hasn't done any harm, but the quality control appears to be lax.

My car CD player was skipping until I used the 1107.
The directions on this lens cleaner says that you should clean your deck every 10 hours. Hell, I've never cleaned it in two years. Now it sounds like new again.

      Cleaning Suggestion
I dont have this model, but I have a larger Holmes Air purifier, and agree with the other reviews - they get themselves very dirty very quickly. I have found though, that if you put the front cover (the part hardest to clean) in the dishwasher & run it on a light cycle, it comes out perfect. Wiping the rest down with a cleaning cloth does the job as well. I wouldn't recommending buying a Holmes product, btu if you already have one, hopefully this cleaning tip will help.

      the first one's (almost) free...
      from new york, new york
there are 2 major things wrong with this (and every?) holmes product i have been 'duped' into using. it is much like when you buy a printer, the initial unit is a mere downpayment for all the cartridges you'll need if you use it 'normally.' the holmes air purifiers i have been intermittently stuck with do help clean the air and thanks to the standardization of the hepa filter (and no thanks to holmes), work fairly well. the downside is they are extremely difficult to clean (i think i used an entire package of qtips) and you have to take the damned thing apart yourself to do so (hence i cleaned mine once and dumped it) if you like cleanliness, after using it a few months, once you look inside the thing you'll be prompted to do likewise. the reason it's popular seems attributable to one factor: it is cheap. seems like a good idea at the time. then u start buying the filters (approx $15 or more each) and attempting to maintain it and realize what a poorly thought out piece o' junk the actual unit really is. be smart, spend more and get an air cleaner from a company that cares whether or not the unit can be cleane (slantfin, bionaire, honeywell). hope this helps save others from a dirty business.

Cleans, but too bad not itself as well..
It's affordable, does what it's supposed to (clean the air) but in the process gets itself filthy. It's almost impossible to clean, so unless you don't care about having a dirty appliance in the middle of your room all the time, I would suggest finding an easier to clean model. Also, the filter seems to get glogged up pretty fast.. maybe I just live in super dusty conditions or something, but plan on spending just as much on filters every 3-6 months as on the unit itself.

Cheap product at a cheap price
You get what you pay for. These flimsy protectors come apart easily. They are hard to put on and leave the screen hazy.
Run away from here real fast.

      What were they thinking?
One of the cheapest products I have yet seen for the Palm. These labels come in a loose pack of cards, one label per peel-off card. There is no convenient way to remove the labels from the cards and apply them to your Palm - while the instructions say you should fold the card in half this is not what they were made to do and you'll find it impossible to align the screen protector properly. Inevitably you remove the label in your frustration and waste about 10 minutes of your life attempting to freehand the application. The static from the Palm and the flimsiness of the protectors guarantee you will never get this applied just right. By the time you do finally apply them you will be treated to air bubbles across your entire Palm screen (I have steady hands and have over 20 bubbles, each wider than the stylus), which might protect your Palm but also makes it look like garbage. You lose some clickable areas as well. I have not yet removed my first protector, so I don't know if there will be any adhesive left behind or long-term negative effects of using these cheap stickers. I do NOT recommend anyone buy these - there may be better products out there, or just deal with it and use what the Palm came with.

A protection that you must have
One of the things i dont like of the palms is that the screen scratches very easy, especialy on the graphity area, with this protectors that is gone!.
