Bionare BAP 1300
This is my second bionaire unit that I purchased and I love both models. Orginally, I had bought both units to prevent bad colds and so far it seems to be helping. I live in condo and I have no cross venilation and having both units makes a real difference in the air quality. With mutiple fan settings you can set at low speed and sleep without too much noise. I find that I'm sleeping a lot better now. If your bedroom size is around 11x14 or less I would suggest getting the BAP1175 and not the BAP1300 otherwise you'll freeze!
The only downside is that the HEPA filters are not cheap although they last anywhere from 12-18 months. I've been running it for 2 months now and the filter is 95% so it should last about 18 months or so.

Works Great!
I have had my other Bionaire tabletop air cleaner for years and never had a problem with it, so I wasn't concerned about investing in the big one. I have a very large bedroom (about 15 x 18) and several dogs in here at night. The amount of dust and other allergens this unit controls is extraordinary. Yes, it's noisy when on high speed - but it's a powerful unit and noise is to be expected. I find that the "sleep" mode is quite tolerable and provides a pleasant "white" noise at night.... and the "sleep" mode is generally adequate during the day, as well. I've had my unit for nearly five months and it has performed beautifully and is easy to clean.

Nice quality & quiet
After much research, including some very helpful sites like www.cadr.org and www.aham.org, and various allergy websites, I decided on the Bionaire BAP1300 due to the amount of air it cleans, its warranty, and its noise rating. The unit arrived in a manufacturer's double box and was easy to setup.
So far, I am not disappointed. In "sleep" mode, I don't have to turn up the TV to watch it. In "low" mode, it is barely louder. I am not sure that "medium" or "high" are needed. This moves so much air on the lower settings. Air is taken in the front, and exhausted from the top.
The backlit display comes in handy. The remote is not really necessary, but I have found myself using it.
My daughters have alergy problems and, since this has been running (24x7) there haven't been any issues.
I feel this air cleaner is worth the money.

Works As Advertised, But...
These thin, plastic sheets are cut to fit the screen of your Palm perfectly, are self-adhesive and remove easily. The problem is that the texturing, which is supposed to reduce glare and make writing easier, also reduces screen visability.

Another problem with this product is getting these sheets to lay down smoothly without any air pockets. You are supplied with a credit card-like applicator, but if not applied perfectly the first time, you can go over and over the thing and the bubbles still remain.

There is no doubt in my mind that this product will protect the Palm's fragile screen from scratches, but if you can't read the screen, what's the point? I discovered, however, it's very easy to cut the sheets so they just cover the graffiti portion of the screen, and this is the part of the screen that takes the most abuse from your stylus. Using it this way, you get the advantage of a textured writing surface (very nice) yet you can still easily view the screen. Furthermore, you'll get three of these mini protectors from each single sheet.

Keep in mind that if you choose to use the method of only covering the graffiti portion of the screen, and a coin or some other object gets lodged between the case and the screen, these protectors will do little to keep the rest of the screen from being scratched.

I think the textured writing surface makes this product a good bet for most users, and you can start with the entire screen covered and see if you can live with it. If not, cut the sheets (as described above) and I think you'll be happy.

Worth the cost
Although the visibility is hurt a little bit by the sheets the protection is well worth the minor loss in image. I really like the feel that the sheets add. I find myself looking down less when I am taking quick notes because of the better texture. I would like to see the price go down a bit but...[it's] a lot better than replacing a screen

Buy these when you first buy your Palm Vx
I recently purchased a Palm Vx and I bought this product along with it. I was warned that the Writerights would make my screen blurry, but the Palm Vx is supposed to have a better resolution that some of the other PDA's so I didn't really care much. Since I'm rough on electronics I felt that a little blurriness was worth the peace of mind. I put the Writeright on immediately after buying my Palm and have never used my Palm w/o the Writeright. So if there is any blurriness, I don't really notice the difference, and that's exactly how I wanted it! But it seems fine. The display is pretty sharp and I use the smallest font and play games on it and I've had absolutely no problem with it. My palm has already taken several tumbles both with and without its hard case on, and the screen is still as perfect as the day I bought it. I think the product is overpriced though. It probably costs Fellowes less than 5 cents to make a 100 of these things, but they do last longer than a month and you can easily get a pack to stretch out longer than a year. So for $20, it's not that bad. If you've already had your Palm for some time, you might want to get the cleaning wipes to go with this to use before you put on the Writerights. I can just imagine that if a little particle of dust or sand got caught under that piece of plastic it might cause a little gouge or scratch. Once you do apply the Writeright, there are quite a few bubbles that are noticeable, but you can carefully push them out, or if you just leave them, they'll come out by themselves within a few days. The bottom line is that $20 is a small price to pay to protect a $500 investment.

awsome bag great room
i loved the bag it has alot of room it was great buy and if i had to get another bag i would get the same one!!! it holds everything and it looks really good too. bye this bag if u want to take good care of your portable DVD player.

Just the Right Size!
I was looking for a case for my portable DVD player, but so many of them were big and bulky. I wanted to be able to stash it in my tote bag that I carry onto the plane. I finally found this one. It is the perfect size. My 9 inch Panasonic fits perfectly in it and is held securely by a velcro strap. Another compartment has room for several DVDs. I'm going to get another one for my daughter's portable player.

Perfect case for larger portable DVD players
We bought the 9" Toshiba portable DVD player for the car and needed a case. This one is ideal with plenty of room for cords, DVD's, player, etc. Very sturdy with a built-in velcro strap to secure it. It is probably too large for 6" and under players.

Will not help with car stereos
I cannot help but wonder how this device helped two other people who used it on car stereos. Car CD players have a front loading mechanism, as opposed to a tray or top loading, and the instructions specifically say not to use it -- bacause this damages the brushes. If the brushes are out of alignment, as they should be after using the cleaner in the car stereo, the device will do nothing for your CD player. It helped a little with my CD-ROM, but I highly doubt it could ever solve the neverending issue of a dirty car CD player.

Does just what it says: recommended
I confess to being a little wary (of damage... knocking the lens etc) before trying this product.

It is a specially-designed CD which has eight tiny tufts of what look like soft nylon bristles which the lens encounters and is gently and rapidly swiped by as you 'play' the track on the CD to which they are attached.

Immediately after performing the pretty quick cleaning operation I definitely noticed more 'bloom' to the sound from both speakers (Classe amp/CD with Logan electrostatics).

So, yes, the product was safe for me, does what it says, is well-priced and effective; I would recommend it.

Very happy
Before I bought this lens cleaner I had owned my DVD player for a year and had played more than 100 DVDs. I never thought about cleaning the DVD player when I began having a lot of trouble with new and old DVDs skipping and stopping. With one cleaning though the problem was cleared up the performance of my DVD player improved dramatically.

The instructions on this product are pretty easy to follow. And it only took one cleaning to see the improvement. After the first use you'll see how cleaning only takes about 20 seconds so it's not time-consuming whatsoever.

    not quiet
i purchased this item a while ago and returned it immediately. it's not quiet and is very bulky.

not as quiet as Honeywell claims
I bought this model because it said Ultra Quiet on the box and even bragged about how it achieved such a quiet motor. I'm rating this 2 stars because I feel Honeywell did not live up to what they advertised. On the lowest speed, this thing was still loud enough to hear over my t.v. set. On speeds 2 and 3 it vibrated my hardwood floor and was obnoxiously loud! I tried using it downstairs on the carpeting, but was still annoyed at the sound, so finally returned it. I checked out a larger Honeywell unit (round / appx. $239) and it was indeed very quiet on the lowest setting. I will probably spend the extra $$ on that one. Whatever you buy, try it out in the store first!

    More Info Please
You do not provide the model number of the Honeywell air purifier. I need to know if you carry replacement filters for it or not and what is the cost of filters?? Would also be helpful to know how often filters need to be changed. I would also be interested in the purpose of remote control for the unit.

this might be a good carbon cleaner but....
it doesn't mention it is a minidisc lens cleaner!i bought it then found out it was a minidisc one!otherwise it might be good if you are looking for a mini disc lens cleaner listen to the other reviews but if you want a regular cd lens cleaner buy a different one!

Can't use it so can't truly rate it
I read the review by the Princeton, NJ reviewer above and bought the product. I think that reviewer posted it to the incorrect product. This is for MINI-DISC players only. Not DVD. I called Allsop and they told me not to use it in my DVD player.

    best cleaner on the market
i have come to find that keeping the laser lense on my portable MD player clean is very important for the long-term durability and clarity of my player. This cleaner's four brush system is by far the best on the market, and it is very affordable

    look before you leap
No, I have NOT bought/borrowed/used the Honeywell 17000, yet I call your collective attention to 3 alternatives which merit serious consideration before you commit your cash and health to the innards of this (or other) HEPA devices. Keep in mind that should you count on repayment by Medicare, then hold off on "my" suggestions. OK, first look at Amazon's newly-introduced product, "Hoover SilentAir 4000 Ionizing Air Purifier" (ASIN: B000090WEX); this looks like it means business big-time, and the Amazon page already describes its ability to annihilate the teeny particles that slip under the HEPA 'radar'. Drawback on this first one: "Dielectric Collection Sheet" probably has to be BOUGHT (rather than wiped clean). Will somebody find out for us all? Next two devices are comparable in that they are tower-style, with supposedly small footprints (incompatible with toddlers and roving animals): one is the "Ionic Breeze Quadra Silent Air Purifier" by SharperImage (cheaper via Outlet); the other is the Honeywell Environizer (2 models, both via RadioShack). The Quadra (2 larger sizes) and the Environizer both carry 5-year warranties, and both guts can be wiped clean with a sponge. Since none of the three alternatives have fans, they draw considerably less juice than any HEPA. I do not know and cannot imagine how a whole room's air can be aggressively scrubbed clean by a passive device, namely the ion purifiers. A fringe benefit of having a HEPA purifier make sound/noise is that there might be less marital bickering over random low-level noises that are inevitably generated by human activity or bodily functions. Once the honeymoon wears off, you both might (re-)UNITE in a mutual dislike for the whir and hum of a HEPA. Should the relationship 'troubles' threaten the bonding, then try to ALTERNATE "pick-on-me" days. The disser won't be so eager to vent, knowing that the next day s/he has to hear the mate...

    Don't bother.
I bought this machine and was very disappointed. It is loud, bulky and does not do a good job filtering the air. I would recommend getting a really good vacuum (we have the yellow Dyson and it does a wonderful job) and just going over your floors and surfaces everyday if you want to cut down on dust and pet hair.

    Everything I hoped for
I've had this product for about 3 years and am very pleased. The noise level is fine for me. We keep it on low and have no trouble listening to the TV. It also provides some nice white noise for sleeping.
I change the carbon prefilter every 2 months and it is amazing how much dust is on it. I buy cheap replacement carbon filters at Lowes. The HEPA filter I changed once (after 2 years). These are pricey, but with the amount of dust this thing takes out of the air, I knew it was a good investment.
Filters are easy to change, machine itself is easy to clean, and it does a great job.

I cleaned approximately 250 cd's with the unit, and the spindle inside completely disintegrated. For a unit that is supposed to handle numerous cleanings, its performance was extremely poor.

    Discwasher1120 cd cleaner review
I like this product alot. It is easy to use, I do not have to worry about drying the CD and scratching it. That is all done by the washer. My only complaint is that the cleaning solution is hard to find. I can find the unit easily enough, but finding the refill for the cleaning solution is like finding Hens teeth!!!@
I am going to order direct form the company as a last resort! If you sell the product why don't you sell the refills for the solution!!! Thank you

    A waste of money
This product appears to be nothing an overpriced, cutesy-named ("Brain Wash") box of alcohol wipes. The "wet" wipes seem to be pretty much the same as those things you buy to clean your eyeglasses, and the "dry" wipes are, well, basically a napkin. As far as I could tell from using it, this product does nothing for the screen of your PDA that a small shot of Windex and a soft cloth couldn't.

    Not that big a deal
I probably won't buy it again, because (as another reviewer pointed out) it's really nothing more than screen cleaner & wipes in cute individual packages. Sure, there's a convenience factor there, but how often do you need that kind of convenience when you're cleaning something? The wet wipe is large enough to clean about three full-sized monitors, so it really does seem like overkill for a PDA. I always clean my PDA and desktop monitor at the same time, so I don't feel like I'm wasting.

I might use it if I were travelling a great deal with a laptop. Otherwise, for your desktop computer, save some money and grab a bottle of screen cleaner & an old dishtowel instead.

Good, works great for PC monitors
This is a good product... One overlooked item is that they are pretty good for cleaning PC monitors!. After you clean your PDA screen, use them on your PC monitor (unless your PDA was really, really dirty. It works great for removing finger smudges.

      Consumer Reports Second Worst Rating
Of 19 models of air cleaners tested, the Ionic Breeze came in second to last place, along side the Honeywell "Environizer" (another electro-static model), in terms of performance.

Tested at it's higest operating level against the top 2 air cleaners: the Friedrich C90A and the Whirlpool AP45030HO, both of the top performers move over 25 times the air ON THEIR LOWEST SETTINGS. Further testing revealed these air cleaners to be almost completely silent on their lower settings and using only as much power as a lightbulb.

In my opinion, you should steer clear of the Ionic Breeze, not only for perfornace issues, but because it the price to manufacture these units is about 1/20 what they're charging. There is currently a class action suit being filed agaist Sharper Image because of concerns over excess ozone emissions not properly reported by the manufacturer.

WOW!!! BEST PURCHASE I HAVE EVER MADE!!!!
I just bought this thing from Amazon and all I can say

      is WOW!!!!

This is probably the best purchase I have ever made.

This thing is everything I ever expected and more!! It's

very easy to use as well!

I have bought other brands before, and this one just

blows everything else out of the water! I have to say,

everyone out there who is thinking of buying this, stop

thinking. I bought it and I am extremely happy with it

the moment I powered this thing on. YOU ABSOLUTELY

POSITIVELY CANNOT GO WRONG WITH THIS PURCHASE! I

      GUARANTEE IT!!!

      Absolute Must Have Appliance
I have the Quadra Ionic Breeze and several HEPE air filters. I also have several smaller bathroom-size Ionic breezes around the house. They make a BIG difference in the quality of the air. Even with my HEPA filters, the ionic breeze pulls lots of junk out of the air. This may be expensive but it is worth it.
