Film will not load!
We registered for this camera on our bridal registry and we actually received two cameras at my bridal shower. However, after spending over an hour trying to load the film, I gave up and went to Target to get help. The electronics clerk also could not get the film loaded for the longest time and finally he did something (he doesn't know what) and it loaded. We followed the directions over and over again but the film was so tricky to load that it isn't worth the hassle! We even opened up the other camera I had received in case the first one was defective, and that one would also not load the film. I still don't know how to do it and we returned both cameras and chose a different one. We were taking this camera on our honeymoon and we didn't want to risk getting stuck on the cruise with a camera that would only load film at random. For a brand new item, this was not high quality. Shop carefully!

great pictures, so far.
I just recently bought this camera at a Targe store and have only had it for a short time. I just recieved my first role of pictures from it and they were great! The only bad thing I have encountered is that the shutter speed is not that fast. For the price I think the pictures are excellent! I especially liked the pictures I took when standing a couple of feet away but using the zoom for a close up. I bought this camera to take picture of my kids, so I didn't want one too expensive or big to carry around in my purse. So far, so good!

Best value in its class
I'm an experienced hobby photographer who's spent many years helping people select the best camera for their needs.
This is an unusually good one for most people's needs.
The difference between a great camera and merely a very good one is versatility -
and versatility is achieved by striking a good balance between capability (features), ease of use (automation) and choice
(manual overrides for when the automation makes a bad decision, which they all do from time to time).
This model strikes a very good balance, and offers an unusually good lens - key to great picture quality - in this price class .

Pro's - 1) Unusually high quality lens, both in terms of construction (aspheric lens elements) and materials (ED glass),
makes for very high quality pictures across the entire zoom range. 2) Stepless zoom - most cameras in this class "step",
that is, they restrict you to a handfull of pre-determined points in the zoom range. So instead of, say, a "38-120" lens

as advertised, you actually have a "38, 50, 70, 90, 120" on these other cameras (Canon, Minolta, and many others).
The Stylus lets you zoom to any point in its range, which makes it easier to frame your picture accurately. 3) Multi-zone
metering detects and automatically corrects for backlight (putting the sun in the picture won't ruin your shot). 4) Spot
metering option let's you tell the camera that you want to concentrate on a small area (your friend's face) under difficult

lighting conditions. 5) Focus lock let's you focus on your subject and then reframe (your friend's face again, next to the
small tree in the foreground - you want your friend in focus, not the tree). 6) Flash modes for just about every conceivable
need in a point and shoot camera. 7) Relatively high shutter speeds for a lens-shutter camera (1/630 second vs 1/400 or so on
some other makes) 8) Advanced flash control adds the right amount of flash when needed, not too much, not too little
9) Small, lightweight, reasonably rugged, weather-resistant, clearly laid out controls, clamshell design protects lens when
closed.

Cons - 1) Zoom range doesn't go truly wide - you won't get a large group in without backing up. This is common to almost all
point and shoot cameras - most people will buy a longer lens rather than a wider one, thinking that "bigger is better". For
people who would rather get the group shot, or that shoot indoors a lot, try the Stylus 100 Wide, which has a true wide
angle lens in it (28-100mm instead of 38-120mm). 2) Clamshell design can develop problems with the electrical contacts (but
other designs can develop problems with their lens covers, so
you're trading one for another here, in my experience). 3) Red-eye reduction is oversold - they all have it, but it's more
annoying than effective. To avoid red-eye, have your subject look just to the side, not right at the camera.

In short, as a "second" camera for the enthusiast, or a "main" camera for the mainstream user, this one's hard to beat.
For the record, I have no relationship with any company or person in the industry.

Worked great for a while
I bought this camera a couple of years ago and it worked great and took great pictures until recently. First, it started to delay when taking pictures. I had to wait longer and longer, it seemed, each time I tried to take another picture. Then, I was rewinding the film that contained pictures of our son's first Christmas and the film got stuck in the camera. There is no forcing the film compartment door open and I stripped the gears on the door opener when I tried to pry it open. I ended taking it to a professional photo repair shop and spent $15 to have the camera taken apart around the film to save the pictures. I had to buy a new camera because this one is now worthless.

How???
We just got this camera, but no instruction booklet available. We need help!

Ben's mom likes it
i just got this camera and have not really been able to use it much, hence only the 3 rating. it could very well be a 5 but the only time i got to use it was in the dark.

its easy to use, and the timer function is great for those priceless money shots.

The red eye reduction works great, and the close ups "come" out nicely too, but most importantly Ben's mom likes it a lot.

5 Months and still no product, but my check was cashed !
I am really upset, because I ordered this product in June and still have not received it after 5 months. I also have emailed this person on 3 separate occasions and have yet to receive an explanation of any kind. They certainly cashed my check immediately and left me holding nothing. I am out $40.00 bucks and definitely mad about it.

Reviewing film?
Not sure what there is to review about this type of film. If you have a JOYCAM, you need this film. And it works fine. But too bad if it didn't, cause that is the only kind you have to choose from. ;-)

The Best of both company's cameras
I bought the Olympus digital for the capability of digital photos and to then have the ability to push a button and have an instant picture develop before my eyes. The 500 film is great, sometimes I wish the printable surface was bigger but. People flock beside me when using the camera and 500 film. Excellent product as I said - the best of 2 camera manufactures!

Buyer beware
I purchased this card to use in my mp3 player. It will not work, because it is not a standard compact flash card, it is about 50% thicker than a compact flash card, no where do they tell you this, and the picture does not even show it. I would suggest to look elsewhere.

Great Product
I recently bought this product but almost didn't based on the reviews.

I received the product and it works great in both my digital camera and MP3 player. The size of the card is the same as the lower density cards I currently have.

Besides, if they would have sent the wrong card I am sure they would have swapped it out, their customer support number is located right on the package.

Highly recommended

What does this guy expect for $27.00
Yeah, I bought one...
I bought a cheap camera, and that is what I got...A cheap camera that took pictures while I was on vacation. Stop complaining man!

Not quite as described
This is a totally different camera than the one described under specifications. The Auto10 comes with batteries (2-AA) and a 12 exposure roll of 400 speed Fuji film. It also comes with a soft case, strap and a $5 rebate from Fuji. There is no autofocus, it focuses from 1.5 METERS to infinity (not 1.5 FEET as stated in product specs), there is no self timer. The red-eye reduction flash works well, the large viewfinder is nice, and the owner's manual is concise, but many of the other features such as the lens cover, motor and frame numbers are chintzy, poorly designed. Had the published specs been accurate, I would have known to purchase a different model. The quality of the photos taken with this camera was just average.

3 days...and poof...gone
3 days after buying this camera...the second roll of film will not load into it. Maybe we just bought a bad one...who knows? It will be returned this afternoon for a different brand. Don't waste your time. Stick to other reliable brands.

What a find
What a find! I have owned many cameras, but this model is fantastic! For a casual user, my families vacation, new baby, and leisure shots are remarkable (Note: I have only used fugi film, rather than other brands, and truly believe that the quality photos are due to the fact that cheap film is not being used). This product is well worth the money!! As for the other reviewer having problems with loading film, I have experienced this, however, if you result to the directions, you are only supposed to place the tip of the film in the loading department, my problem was that I placed to much film, and it wouldn't advance, I have not had a problem in 2 years.

Get it out now
It simplies work like a palm cradle to a palm device. With this cradle, you can simply drop the F601 into it and get the picture out easily (of course movie also do). The accompanying software integrate with this seamlessly and work just fine. In addition to that, using the cradle to charge back the battery should be better (I guess it is much better power managed). The final reason why you should buy this because F601 is designed primary with the cradle so the USB connection is at the bottom, without the cradle you will need to put the DC flat, hoping you won't make a scratch.

While money already goes for the F601, why don't you hesitate to get one. It's simply another palm cradle already attached to your PC and make you get the picture out easily and the equipment better linked.

DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY
This will be my first and last APS camera. The quality of pictures is terrible compared with even a cheap 35 mm camera. The picture quality reminded me of the old Compact Disc cameras of the 80's. The main reason I bought this camera was to take panoramic pictures easily with the regular 4x6 size, but I have already sent this camera back for a refund. Instead, I decided to use my old 35mm zoom camera for the 4x6's and buy a disposable APS for the panoramics, because the picture quality is the same. Also, the quartz date didn't work on the front. The only thing good I can say about this camera was the small size.

Keep Looking
After doing extensive research before making this purchase, we have been satisfied with the picture quality. The focus and colors are sharp. However, the flash malfunctioned after less than 6 months.

As far as ease of use, overall it is not bad, but subjects are difficult to line up in the viewfinder.

Compared to others on the market, it is loaded with features (as long as it works). We won't be buying another Fuji again in the near future.

A final warning to those considering the APS format- film and processing costs are considerably higher per roll vs. 35mm.

A little disappointed
My complaint is with the viewfinder. I, and everyone else who's used my camera, find it hard to keep the subject in sight. You have to keep moving it around to get the image back. Meanwhile, the bird you're trying to photograph has moved.
Also, it's awkward to have the flash pop up from the top left corner. You have to move your fingers out of the way.
Would I buy it again? Nope.

Amazon's Lack Of Customer Relations
I ordered this item on June 14th and have yet to be updated on the real shipping date. Although e-mails are said to be answered in 24 hours, I have sent three without response for days. Will Amazon ever fill this order, respond to e-mails or just cancel the order after an inordinate wait?

Not Amazon's Fault
The supply problem with the Nikon 9000 ED scanner isn't Amazon's fault, it's Nikon's. From what I'm told by our local professional camera shop here in Seattle and more than a dozen mail order firms I've called trying to find one of these things, Nikon announced the ED9000, shipped one demo model to each of its big dealers and that was it. Nobody has seen one since and Nikon won't say when they are going to ship.

Amazon came through!
I ordered my Nikon Coolscan 9000 back on June 18th. It arrived on July 13th just as the updated Amazon shipping estimate email promised. I admit I was a little skeptical when I placed the order that I would ever see it, especialy at the price Amazon had at the time - $1804.99 I checked with my contacts at B&H in New York (I order alot from them and have come to know a few of the salespeople) - they said "no way" could the price be for a legitimate USA model. In addition to being lower than B&H's cost, Amazon was giving a shipping date way ahead of when anybody else could promise. It turned out that Amazon was about a week late on their "original" shipping date, but they kept me updated and it came exactly when they said it would.
As for the scanner, it seems to me to be just about perfect. The scans are beyond belief. Nikon Scan software is a little confusing...I might give Vuescan a try. The scanner does make a bit of noise from the stepper motor during the scan process, but this appears normal. Overall, I could not be happier with my purchase. Amazon has never given me a bad experience so far and with the new Amazon credit card, I have intrest free financing for 10 months to pay for this beauty. I'm completely satisfied with my Amazon transaction!

poor service olympus
I have windows xp on my computer, scanner dont work with system.
I would have given it 0 if I could.

OLYMPUS LETS ITS CLIENTS DOWN
Olympus has decided to discontinue the manufacture of the ES-10 scanner. So, it did not develop a driver for Windows XP. Thousands of ES-10 owners will have to throw their scanner in the garbage.
Without a driver for Windows XP, the scanner is useless. Olympus supports its customers? Yeah, sure.

This is a great scanner!
First the bad news: its driver supports Windows 95, 98, and ME. Now the good news: this is a serious film scanner. Unlike the new cheap film scanners or adapters for flatbeds, this unit scans at 2400x1600 resolution. This produces really high quality results; so much so that I hardly ever used it at the max res. The 35mm module accepts a six neagtive strip holder and a single slide holder (both included), and the motorized APS module allows you to drop in a cartridge and go!
