This is one sharp, fast prime lens with great color, contrast, and lovely bokeh (character of the out of focus areas).

I find the 35mm focal length to be far more versatile than the 50mm traditionally recommended to beginning photographers. It's wide enough to be useful for scenics, and still long enough for environmental and half length portraits. Pentax's SMCP-FA 35/2 AL is a super example of what the 35mm focal length can offer.

I've been using FA 35/2 for over two years and, despite having added another six primes (all very good, btw) to my 35mm kit, I still expect this lens to have the longest legs of all.

If you prefer the virtues of primes over the convenience of zooms, this is a prime you owe yourself some time with.

I went to Egypt the first in May 2001 with my 35-80mm lens and I thought it would do well in the museums. How wrong I was. 98% of all the pictures I took in the museum were literally fuzzy - camera shake!! To add to my woes, I used low speed film. I went back this time armed with a Pentax standard 50mm F1.4 lens and iso800 films (flash not allowed). The result: everything, from the dimmest areas, was sharp with a good colour balance, except the effect of tungsten and flourescent light on pictures I developed back home - which can be completely eradicted when you develop your indoor pictures in Egypt since they know exactly how to develop such pictures). I was delighted with the lens. It even gave me good pictures in the tombs!

The only 'disadvantage', is that the lens is too sharp and therefore if you do not focus very carefully, u will get a lot of blur (not camera shake). Yet, a bit of practice will sort this out.

It is a rare lens and therefore a must have for people who need to take pictures indoors without FLAH! Unfortunately, I did not have the relevant indoor colour balance filters. They are necessary for indoor pictures to reduce that greenish and orange effect.

I recommend this lens!

When I bought my Pentax ZX-L camera with the lens kit, I had no idea what I was getting into. The 28-90 mm lens the camera came with produced some of the worst pictures I have ever taken in my whole entire life. I've taken better pics with my thumb in the way.

Eventually, through reading other reviews on Amazon about the uselessness of most lens kits, I realized I'd have to buy a new, more expensive, better quality lens if I was going to at least take satisfactory pictures--which was my reason for buying an SLR camera in the first place.

Someone else's review of the Pentax SMCP-FA 50mm lens inspired me to purchase it. It's primarily a close-up lens, but it takes good pics from any distance. I've taken some really impressive, professional-looking photos with it.

All I need now is a business card--"Angie's Professional Photography," or something. I could make money off of this!

This high performance lens is excellent when taking portrait pictures as well as when taking nature pictures. The auto focus is fast and accurate and light sensitiveness assures excellent performance also in low light conditions.

When I finally decided to upgrade my 14-year-old RCA 20-inch TV, I thought I would have to drop-kick the thing to get it to break down. (I ended up selling it for $75, good as new.) Shopping for a new one was easy; there was no way I would even consider getting anything but another RCA. Reasons: 1) performance and 2) durability. Check out the TVs in any electronics store, and the picture on any RCA TV will be right up there with the best of them, and better than many more expensive sets. My old RCA lasted 14 years without a single breakdown, and it still had a picture as clear as the day I bought it. My new one (27 inches) lives up to the RCA standard. The picture is great, the sound is excellent, and the on-screen menus are clear and concise. The TV remote is glow-in-the-dark, a feature I wish my cable box remote had. Everything about this TV works great. I have only two minor complaints: the GuidePlus feature, which is nice if you want it (I don't particularly) is programmed enabled into the TV and it took me several frustrating tries to disable it. Also, hooking up a VCR so that it will work with the TV's remote can be a chore. I'd as soon use the VCR remote anyway. However, these are small gripes. The bottom line is that this is a great TV at a very good price. I'd recommend it to anyone.

I haved owned a unit for over a year. It really helps with my allergies! Makes a nice, clean, area in my home.Very quiet and high quality unit.

I have several of E.L. Foust's air purifiers and decided to get the stainless steel version because I love the new look and it works perfectly with my decor. I also find this air purifier impeccably helpful with removing the smell of my new carpets and cabinets. I've tried other purifiers, but this one works the best!

I am pleased with my recent purchase of this product. When left running constantly, there is a noticeable fresh air smell. When located near a source of odor such as recently fried bacon, this unit very quickly dissipated the smell from the house. I would recommend this item for a small area but it is far too small to be effective for a large room.

I found that Sigma 15 mm & 20 mm lenses great. Put on my Nikon D100, I can always take picture on every light condition. Especially in shady places where I set the ASA 800 - 1000, this would create a wide depth of field.
I don't see any setback in Sigma 15 & 20 mmm lens.

This is was my thrid Sigma EX HSM lens. While I've had other Sigma lens I purchased them mostly for the price. The quality was OK/acceptable. But these EX HSM (Hyper Sonic Motor) lens are the finest quality lens I've ever put my hands on! They are mostly metal vs mostly plastic. They are smooth as silk and extremely FAST focus. They seem not to seach back and forth as much for the focal point--they lock on almost immediately. This lens makes brilliant true color shots and works great with my Nikon D100. With the digital camera 1.4x factor this lens is like having a 24-50 on a film camera. While with telephoto lens this is like getting extra lens for free--with wide angles you loose a bit. But that is the camera's fault not the lens. The lens comes with a beautiful case and a high-tech lens shade. You'll never buy anything but a Sigma HSM lens again. Too bad they don't make the HSM for all their models.
