High Quality, Low Price
This is a high end filter. Very well made. Glass with metal ring. Great for preventing damage to your expensive lenses and even filters out UV rays. Easy to clean as compared to cleaning finger prints off of a lens. I had dropped a lens and broke the filter, but the lens was unharmed thanks to the filter. Replacing the filter was far less expensive then replacing the lens. A great value for a high quality filter. No lens should be without one.

Useful protection
A UV filter or a neutral-density filter is the best way to protect your lens from dust, fingerprints, scratches, and so on, all the time, since they can be kept on the camera at all times. The UV filter will also help with haze a bit, since most haze occurs in the blue area of the visible spectrum, and UV is just below that in terms of wavelength.

fdl
I use a UV filter on my lens to protect it because unlike others it has the least effect on the amount of light passing through it and does not affect color. I use it indoors and out with both black and white and color films. The only time it is off of my lense is when I want to affect color or contrast by using a special filter. It reduces haze to improve the clarity of outdoor pictures. Tiffen filters are well constructed.

works great
This set works great. Have had no problems with it and pictures come out good. These sets are a great solution if you have a good base lens and can't afford to drop a ton of cash on a high quality micro-lens. Just keep in mind that if this is your first time using close-up lens, you have to make sure you are the right distance from you subject for the combination of lens you are using. Otherwise it will be impossible to get the subject in focus. Lens know-how 101.

could be cheaper
I got a set of the same filters from hoya at half the price (49.99). But what ever brand you buy they are a great additon to the camera bag. I also use tiffen filters and I love their product. Which is why I rated it a five.

GREAT MAGNIFICATION
I LOVE this set of Close Up Filters. The magnifications are +1, +2, and +4. They are great at the finest of details. The mags are clear and precise. Each filter is incredible. I actually once used the + 2 filter to magnify a picture that had been cut down to the size of a half dollar, centered it, and was able to save the clarity to process a 4x6 photo. It was unbeliveable!!!

Bemis H12-400 3-Speed Evaporative Console Humidifier
Very few humidifiers work as well as the Bemis. I would recommend it to everyone. There is one cautionary note: Be sure to check the tank and reservoir every day. Five gallons of water do not last very long,so pay attention. This way the owner will have good, clean humidity. The unit is easy to take apart and clean.

A very good Humidifier
Have used two of the Bemis H 12, 3 speed Humidifier, now for two years. They are very easier to use & require very little care, except for & occasional cleaning. Must replace the Wick & the back Air Filter each year, to keep it working well. Also should receive one good cleaning per year, inside, as much dust will get on all surfaces in & around the fan area. They seem very well maitain the desired humidty level, as I have good Humidstats in rooms, to give indication of where settings should be for variences caused by outside air temp, which greatly affects amount of water needed, to be added to room air. Just got a new 1045 Super Wick, when I put it on, I found that it did not have the little bracket on the top, left side to slide the little guide that holds the water level rod (that goes up & down with level, to show when filling is needed. This made it hard to put the top back on, as rod would not stay in place, and had to "Duct Tape" to make it stay & line up with switch, where it slides into switch depression. Don't know if this was just an error, or if this is not put on replacment Wicks any longer. This is a good Humidifier & would sure recommend it to anyone, to try & buy.

A Satisfied Customer.

Great Wide-angle lens for DSLR's
On a DSLR with 1.3x or 1.6x cropping, such as the 10D or 1D, you will see no difference in the images produced by this lens and the twice-as-expensive EF 16-35 f/2.8L. So if you don't need the extra f-stop, go with this one and save yourself $700.

On 35mm film or the 1Ds, you'll see more vignetting with this lens, but the images are still excellent, and this lens has less flare than the 16-35.

The 16-35 is marginally sharper near the 35mm focal length, and does have much better bokeh, if that's important to you.

If you take lots of wide-angle shots, this lens is a must-have. It's one of the less expensive "L" lenses, making it a relative bargain.

A wonderful wide angle lens for film
If you get paid for your photos, you should own the f/2.8L instead. For the rest of us, this is a fantastic lens, my second Canon L lens after the 100-400. Construction quality is first rate. Images are sharp. The range of the zoom is excellent. For film. On an APS-C sized sensor (Canon 10D or DRebel) this isn't an exciting range and is only marginally wide angle. Though the Sigma 12-24mm is slower and (on paper) lower resolution---that might be the lens of choice for this range on a digital camera.

Fantastic lens, but not without its quirks.
This lens will give you a half-stop above the f1.8 version, as well as a metal mount, somewhat more solid construction, full-time manual focusing, and a distance scale. The color and sharpness are excellent.

The lens is somewhat soft wide open, though you do get the use of f1.4, which will get you shots you might otherwise miss. It does well at f2, but needs to be stopped down a minimum of two stops (to f2.8) before its true sharpness is revealed. By f4-5.6 it's blindingly sharp, enough to serve as a measure for all other lenses.

This lens does not use a true USM ring motor, instead using a slightly noisier, slower, and less accurate micro motor with a full-time manual clutch. People with 10Ds (such as myself) have reported focus problems, and mine seems to miss focus under certain conditions more often than my more solidly constructed lenses. Apparently, 1-series cameras with superior focus systems work much more pleasingly with the 50/1.4.

Despite these issues, the 50/1.4 is an excellent lens. On a camera with a 1.6x crop factor (10D, D60), this makes an excellent portrait lens. One just needs to keep these quirks in mind.

Should be L
Excellent piece of glass, does a great job blurring backgrounds and delivers sharp and crisp images. A must have for any decent portrait photographer.

    COKIN SYSTEM BOOK
I'm a pro photographer and tried all kinds filters ( Hoya, Tiffen,Lee etc.) Then I bought this book and Cokin filters. Well let me tell you something, 1)Big choice of filters, 2)Lots of accessories,3)One system fits all lenses you have.4)I personally use it for wedding photography.5)Easy to read and see actual examples in this book.Very good book-guide for beginners or pros.

Great book if you want to learn all the uses of filters.
This book is great, I have not ever used filters before and I am new to photography. This book show's the filter, its name, a picture with the filter and a picture without the filter. It tells what the filter does for the image. This book has nearly 100 pages of diferent filters with their effects. The small size of this book makes it great to throw in your camera case if you are on the go.

I have to disagree with Scott...
I've had my Roomba for over a year, and I don't use it weekly as they suggest (or even bi-weekly) and my filters are falling apart. Backwashing with an air canister hasn't worked, though perhaps this is because my place is INCREDIBLY dusty.

    Not really needed though
Back-wash the filter after each use with canned air and they will last almost forever.

      Perfect
I'm usually staring at my monitor long hours and the strain was beginning to wear on my eyes. This was just what I needed, at a perfect price not to be beat.

      Just what I needed !
my monitor faces a large window with a very bright afternoon sun shining directly on my monitor, forcing me to close the blinds in the afternoon. The filter does it's job allowing me to keep my blinds open ALL day now! Nice color, nothing to rub or scratch the casing of the monitor due to the inside cushining of the filter! I reccomend this product! No complaints from me! : )

Adds functionality to an old camera!
Didn't use my dc4800 too much any more, until I found this adapter and the close up lens set. The adapter is a great way to add functionality to the camera if your ready to explore other types of photography. It allows you to add close up lenses, a telephoto lens, or a wide angle lens.

With the +10 an +7 I was able to fill full frame with a penny. Excellent quality.

the one and only. . .
This is the lens adapter for attaching the Kodak 43mm Ektanar accessory lenses to the DC4800 camera. This adapter can also remain attached even when not using the accessory lenses to help shield the lens from bright extraneous sunlight and to help protect the camera's built-in lens.

Search for " Kodak Ektanar " to find lenses for the DC4800. (43mm)

      Great for a second lens
I bought this for my QTsi camera. It is a great second lens for this camera. If you want to take professional looking photographs, using this lens with a tripod will give you remarkable results. Be sure to set the camera on the photograph setting. This lens is also great for taking those far off pictures, (the ones that are over before you run and get there). Be sure to set your camera for action to help compensate for camera or subject movement for those far off shots. Great also for capturing those special moments at sporting events or concerts, even when you have nose-bleed seats. The AF function helps capture special moments without having to constantly adjusting the lens focus. You can also turn off the AF and take some artistic shots, even if you have never used a SLR camera before. Minolta has come up with a wonderful system that makes taking excellent and exciting photographs easy for everyone.

      Good lens
I bought this lens for a HTSi. It works just fine. I recommendit highly. . . .
