I bought this model about 1 year ago. It appeared to do a good job of removing dust particles, but the motor on it died after 1 year of use. I expected it to last longer than 1 year. Also, it always had a thin layer of carbon around the unit -- I am guessing this came from the carboin in the filter, but it was annoying.

When my EOS 10D arrived I was without the lens I really wanted (Canon's 28-135 IS) so my local Wolf store let me 'borrow' this as a holdover. I [took] about 400 pictures at a local horse show and was astounded at how soft the pictures came out. So bad were the images that I thought my 10D had the fabled 'focus' issue. I quickly returned the lens and advanced my purchase of a prime (the Canon EF 50mm macro 2.5). Wow - like having a different camera. The 28-90 has a fast, quiet autofocus, but after that the only good thing is it's price. If you're interested in sharp pictures at all, spend some extra money - you'll be happier in the long run.

It may not be fair to give this product the rating I have. However, I will not be able to test its function without buying new filters. It is an A-series filter holder, and many of the Cokin filters Amazon sells, including the ones I had ordered, are P-series, which are substantially larger. Nowhere on the description of this holder did I find any information indicating that it was A, rather than P. I may not have dug deeply enough, but this is significant information, and should have been included along with the info about the size of lens for which the adapter was intended, as one of the major bullet items on the main product page.

Unless you need the extra distance afforded by the 180mm focal length of this lens (i.e. you want to work father away from your subject), your money would be much better spent on Canon's 100mm f2.8 USM macro lens. Canon's 100mm macro is also capable of 1:1 reproduction and offers better optics and build quality. More importantly, Canon's lens costs less than this Sigma lens. Save your pennies and work with a shorter focal length -- you won't regret it. This lens, while capable relative to the rest of Sigma's products, is not in danger of producing really impressive results.

I bought this lens in October and loved it. It's great when it works, but the manufacturing sucks, and the lens came apart in under a year. I sent it in for warranty repair and got a bill. I spent HOURS on the phone with Sigma's repair department and, after being passed around from technician to manager to Sales Manager, I was told they'd pay for the repair labor, but I had to pay for parts. They were totally unconcerned with customer satisfaction, totally unconcerned with the reputation of their equipment. They just weren't going to fix the problem with the piece of equipment I paid $800 for. Sigma makes a great product, but isn't at all concerned with customer Satisfaction

I bought this cable to interface a PC with an S-Video output to a VCR with a composite video input. I was really disappointed. The picture had bands of interference in it. I thought this might be due to the computer, so I tried using the cable to go from an S-Video output of a DVD player back to the the same VCR. The picture *was* better, but you could still see faint intereference bands, espeically if the picture was more white than black. I finally bought a shielded RCA cable to see if the RCA cable was picking up the interference; still no help.

It's not like this adapter doesn't work. But it doesn't work well.

I bought this unit at my local K-Mart cause I could not wait till it shipped due to extreme hay fever this year. Plain and simple, this thing is NOISY, even on the lowest setting. They say it is quiet on the box but it is not. This thing could wake the dead. I am boxing it up and returning it this evening. DO NOT waste your time or money on this piece of junk.

Stay away from this one!!! Did not last more than 8 hours. It just stopped working!!!!! Don't waste your time or money on this one.

I was hoping for a more quiet, blowing sound myself, but I put the purifier on a foam pad and it's quieter. I have found that it really works in cleaning the air in our bedroom. We used to wake up with stuffy noses, but since having it on low all night, we wake up with clear noses. And the constant white noise type sound helps with the traffic noise outside. So all in all, we are happy enough with the product.

Bought this humidifier after my wonderful Wood unit failed after eight years. It's attractive and compact, but it's output is light for a so-called whole house humidifier -- I can't get my studio apartment over 25% humidity -- and the motor noise is driving me crazy. I'm searching for another one.

There's absolutely no reason to buy this lens when you can instead get the Canon EF 28-105 f/3.5-4.5. It's a faster lens with signiicantly better image and build quality, and is only about $50 more than this cheap plastic/slower version.
