Never a Complaint Never a Concern
I have used both the 512 Meg and 256 Meg Flash cards in my Canon G2 camera. I have yet to experience any performance issues. When you are at an event or a special location and want to take pictures, the last thing you should have to do is edit your work. These storage devices allow me to take pictures quickly and efficiently and at volume for later review on my PC. These storage devices offer an great value comparable to all other on the market.

You can't go wrong with Viking Components!
My SD512M card is more reliable than the 512MB Lexar SD card I used to own. I used to sometimes corrupt the entire Lexar card when I write data to it from my PDA. I would then have to reformat the card and reload everything I had on it. Not so with the Viking. It also is very fast, comparable to the Lexar but much faster than the 256MB SanDisk SD card I also used to own. I have Viking Compact Flash cards and have decided to standardize on Viking due to their high reliability and excellent performance, whether used in my PDA or my digital camera. You can't go wrong with Viking!

Excellent budget flash
I bought this unit over 12 years ago to replace a broken canon specific flash. It has proven to be more flexible than anticipated. Autoflash works consistently on camera, but now has been relegated to background lighting by an optical trigger. In this regard, the auto-off feature is nice to keep the batteries in better charge. It's small, lightweight, takes generic AA batteries and is cheap.

The Best Flash Around
I am a ametur photographer and I was looking to purchase a new flash for my Nikon SLR camera. I came to the website that has great deals and great products. As I looked through the many possibilties that there were my head started to swim. I finaly decided to go with this flash beacuse it has a great speed and the brand is know as one of the best. And the best part was that the price was half as much as at other stores.

makes the difficult easy
If you use electronic flash in any type of difficult or unusual situation where the results really count, this meter will take the guesswork out of setting the proper exposure. It uses a standard 9 volt battery and allows you to test the battery for adequate strength before using the meter. There are a couple of steps to manage before reaching the suggested lens opening for a proper exposure. It is not a simple matter of firing a flash unit and using the f/stop indicated where the needle freezes on the dial. The exposure calculation chart on the back of the unit is a little confusing. For example, does "adjust f/stop +2/3" mean f/5 becomes f/4 (larger opening) or does it mean f/4 becomes f/5 (larger f/number)? It turns out to be the latter, not the former. A label needs to be added to the unit by the user to avoid confusion after long periods of non-use. I would recommend anyone buying this meter shoot some test frames in anticipated working conditions to see if any compensation is required to achieve the desired results. My unit was purchased used at a flea market. I use it to figure exposures inside a large, dark-toned church sanctuary. I opened the unit and adjusted one of the potentiometers to get the desired results, but now my unit gives me proper exposures for great skin tones every time.

Speed improvement on my Nikon 775
I have a Nikon 775, and purchased a 64MB Sandisk CF to go with it a while ago. When the price dropped for 256MB CF, I decided to purchase this Lexar 12x CF, to have more room for pictures. It was a surprise to notice that lag time between shots and viewing time have improved. Now I switch between shooting mode and viewing mode more often because of speed improvement; it was a real pain before, it used to take around 10 seconds, now it's around 2-3 seconds.
I am not sure if this will happen with other cameras, but I'm happy with this card in my 775. I wish all memory cards come with the speed rating to make purchase decision easier.

This is my second Lexar card- great item!
I have a canon digital camera and was always running out of space on the compact flash cards until I purchased my first Lexar 256 MB card. This card allows me to take hundreds of good quality photos on one card when I'm on a trip or at an event. Yes the speed slows a bit when the card is full, but if you're skiing or out on a hike and don't want to be changing cards this is a great accessory. 256 MB can be an extravagance if you are someplace where downloading or changing cards is not a problem but if you want to just keep on clicking try this card. It is also essential if you want to take videos with your digital camera. Videos use up a ton of memory so the larger capacity is a must. Overall I've been really satisfied with my Lexar card. I've used it agasin and again with no diminished capacity, and I've stored photos on it for a long time with no problems. Downloading has been a pleasure and photo quality is excellent. When you consider how much service it gives you this card is a bargain.

No problems!
I've been using this card with a Canon S400 camera for about four months now, taken 500+ pictures and transferred them to my computer. I've had absolutely no problems with the card, and it seems to write and erase as quickly as I could want. For me this was an excellent intersection of size and price; a capacity of roughly 125 photos at full four-megapixel resolution is plenty even for my most intensive day of photography, and this won't break the bank. I'm certainly disposed to buy Lexar stuff again in the future.

Great value and good performance
I've used Viking components in the past and never had any negative experiences with their products. When I got a digital camera, I shopped the local computer and mall stores for Compact Flash memory cards before turning to Amazon.com. I was pleasantly surprised to find an affordable Compact Flash card in the capacity I was looking for made by Viking. The card works great with my Kodak digital camera and Sandisk CF reader. A top notch product at an affordable price.

64MB card - 155 pictures for a 1MP Kodak DC240 camera
Well, I had no idea how much room a 1 MP picture would take up on a CF card. I know it is a combination of compression and format, but I never really did the math.

GREAT PRICE: I bought this card, number one, because the price was great. Now the price is even greater when you get it for about 2MB for $1.

NUMBER OF PICTURES THAT CAN BE STORED:
155 in a DC240 with 1MP.
55 in a DX3900 with 3.1 MP.
I never knew the MP versus MB formula, this practical application helped me out. I understand however, much depends on your compression and format. This was all .jpg files and on Kodak cameras.

SEEMS COMPATIBLE FOR PDA AND PC:
I know one of the concerns on these cards is compatibility. Since I have had it, I have put it in an @migo Pocket PC, on the PCMCIA card on an IBM laptop and a Kodak DX3600 and a HP315. It worked great.

Nice card and a nice size, I'm set for awhile now.

Great
I ordered this but something happened and I got a 128 mb chip instead. Either way its great been using it for a few years now and I've had no problems.

Junk Card! Don't go for it
I bought this 4 weeks back. When I try to shoot quick events (like fire works, baby smile etc,) by the time I get the picture the actual event what ever I intend to shoot goes off! It has very bad write speed. It's good for taking slow pictures of still objects only.

A VERY good value! Don't bother with a smaller card for MP3s
I've not seen a cheaper price, and I've been looking in stores. This is a good value.

Keep in mind, though, unlike the cheaper versions of this card, this card does NOT come with a flash reader. I was disappointed to find this out, but it was my own fault for just assuming it did. I still give it 5 stars.

[A note to HP Jornada 548 customers. This card works fine with the Jornada Pocket PC. I say this because it is not mentioned in the advertisement that the 128MB version is compatible, but it is.]

One nice thing about this card is that there is 24/7 tech support available if something should go wrong with it (or with installation or whatever), but I don't know what could really go wrong with it --I guess that's why they offer the tech support!

Anyone using MP3s should REALLY go for this card and skip the 64 MB card. The 64 MB card would be rather skimpy, and with 128 MB you'll ALWAYS find things to store on it. (I've had my card three days now and I've filled up 50 MB already, downloading songs, books, and maps).

One nice thing about having a flash card for a PocketPC (or other handheld) is that you can back up your entire regular memory onto your flashcard easily, without having to worry about memory failure. That is pretty neat, kind of like a second hard drive for your computer...

Zab
I love this card. I keep my Canon Digital Elph S110 set on the highest resolution/highest quality and have never filled this card up on a weekend trip. One day I took 120+ pictures, it is so easy to delete the ones you don't want afterwards. With the holidays and longer trips coming up I am purchasing a second 128mb card to double my capacity, you can't beat this price.... I also have the Viking card reader to speed up downloading and save wear and tear on the camera. I am very pleased with it. It works just like an external hard drive... It was a good deal then andit is an even better value now. Go with it! The best thing is thatyou will have comfort in knowing that you have the capacity to takethe pictures when you need to (you'll not miss out on those preciousmoments that will never repeat themselves). Great while it works
I used my Mini Cruzer for both work and school, and I used it on a daily basis. It was fast, small, and very convenient.

However, you might notice that I am writing in the past tense, because my cruzer just died on me the past week after after five months of use. Of course, it is still under warranty and I will be sending it back to Sandisk this week, but I lost a TON of data that I was not able to recover. I normally keep a back-up, but when the memory stick dies before you are able to back-up your data, life can get pretty bad.

Make sure to keep good back-ups!! Do NOT rely on this or any other memory stick to be fail proof.

A Great USB Flash Drive
Sandisk has produced a wonderful product with its 128mb mini cruzer. Simply plug it into your USB port and it's ready to go - with windows XP there is no software needed. My laptop recognized the device immediately and it could be accessed through XP's "My Computer" as external drive F:. It was as easy as kiss my hand to store text, music, or photo files to it,to retrieve them and to erase them when desired.

The device itself is about a dime's width and 3 dime's length. The body is a smart looking metallic polished silver and when it's plugged in, the back of it lights up green so you know that it is working properly. Comes with 3 different colored caps to protect the USB connection and a neck/wrist strap for convenient carrying.

Easy to use. Fast and efficient as a USB Flash Drive. A well priced wonderful product from Sandisk. I bought one for myself and two as Christmas gifts.

nothing fancy - just simple and easy to use
This is a great product, just plug it in and you're ready to go. Compatible with all machines (automatically detected by XP, simple driver installation with 98) and is a much easier way to carry data around than burning CD's or expensive zip disks. It does feel a little fragile but mostly because it weighs almost nothing. The back end lights up when plugged in and flashes when transferring data.
One nice thing about this particular stick is that you can snap the cap on the back end of the stick so you don't misplace it when plugged into the computer. It comes with a lanyard to go around your neck but that seems a little silly to me and I just carry it in my pocket.
Data transfer is extremely fast with usb 2.0, a 5 MB file only takes a couple seconds to transfer.
The sandisk cruzer is also very skinny and unlike some of the larger ones only requires you to have one usb port open. For example, I can have the sandisk in one port on my laptop and an external mouse plugged in the port immediately below it. I've never had a different brand but several look like they would block two usb ports while only actually using one.

Definitely Worth It
I was a bit skeptical in buying this, as many people complainedthat it would add bulk and reduce battery life, but for [the cost], Ithought it would be worth it. It was.

Anyone that says it makes theiPaq a lot bulkier is either weak or full of it. The picture does notdo it justice--it is no different from the 'shell-case' that comeswith your iPaq, save for an extra 1/8" thickness at the top forthe CF card. For those of you without a CF case that don't use yourempty shell, I'd recommend it as extra protection for your iPaq.Bottom line: I notice no weight or size difference using Compaq's ownCF slot. I have seen the PC Card expansion pack, and that isdefinitely a lot bigger.

Having a CF slot is great. I have 2cards. One is the FREE expansion pack... The other is a 340 mb IBMMicrodrive. For those of you considering the Microdrive, it is aterrific add-on. I have 75 mp3's, plus a ton of maps for the PocketStreets and a lot of free books from MS Reader. More power to you ifyou want to store anything else, but I was happy spending 150 on the340 mb MD than 500 on the 1 gb MD.

The only problem I have is thatit definitely eats up your battery--I now get just 2-3 hours from myiPaq when I play the mp3's. The solution to this is to get the PCCard expansion case, as it has its own power source...but the tradeoff is definitely weight and size. For this reason, I'm glad Compaqdidn't build-in one or the other (CF or PC slot), because they'reletting us choose which trade-off we'd like. Either way, the iPaqoffers far more flexibility than any other PDA, and the CF Expansioncase definitely adds to it.

Good luck,

--JN

It's a shame it's so hard to keep in stock...
...but that goes to show how great this expansion pack is! I just got mine, and I tell you it really is a dream. The added dimensions and weight really are a small price to pay for the added convenience of using CF cards. In fact, I like how it fits in my hand better now with the expansion card - it's firmer, and doesn't give the feeling that it may slip out of my hand. The Fun Pack (available free from Microsoft upon purchase of the iPaq) card slipped right in and works great. I just ordered extra RAM cards for MP3s and other storage, and just ordered the a modem. This CF Expansion Pack truly makes the iPaq a Pocket *PC* with all you'd expect (more, even!). This is an accessory you can't refuse!

the IPAQ is worthless without this
I recommend buying this and an IBM microdrive to really get the most out of your iPaq. You can then listen to hours of music or even watch movies!

Almost every plugin for the iPaq uses the CF2 standard, so unless you just want a simple PDA, buy this. Of course you don't, otherwise you would have bought a Palm, right?
