Fairly Well Build and Inexpensive. This teleconverter is built as well as any name-brand model I've owned in the past and has worked as expected. Like any teleconverter, it will not auto-focus with a slower lens except on the very brightest days, but should do so with a faster lens. I've had no problem whatsoever using it with the manual focus mode of my Maxxum 7 (the focus indicator in the viewfinder displays proper focus).
The pictures I've taken are acceptable. I've seen no serious distortion or loss of detail. With the lens I'm using (basically a 600mm with the teleconverter), a solid tripod is a must.
If your intentions are similar to mine, I recommend this product. Of course, if you want the very best (auto-focus under any conditions and so on), you probably should be looking at an expensive telephoto lens instead of a teleconverter.

Get the adapter ring for your Sony S75/85I live in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and wanted to take pictures while it was snowing, but didn't want to get snow and water in the exposed zoom lens part of the camera so I ordered the Lens adapter ring and a set of 52mm lens filters that screw onto the filter. Now the internals are safe.
If you are looking for an accessory to add a little something to your S75/85, go with the adapter ring and a protective filter.

A great set. It's a little tough using the lenses at first because the viewfinder does not look through the lenses themselves. The parallax is enhanced because of the different views, but it doesn't take too long to figure it out and learn to compensate.
Also, on the DC265, if you want to use the close up lenses you will need to use manual focus or all of your shots will be blurry.
If you take a lot of pictures, this lens kit will only increase your desire to take more pictures, as you can get so many more interesting images this way.

Vivitar versus Canon
Eventually, through reading other reviews on Amazon about the uselessness of most lens kits, I realized I'd have to buy a new, more expensive, better quality lens if I was going to at least take satisfactory pictures--which was my reason for buying an SLR camera in the first place.
Someone else's review of the Pentax SMCP-FA 50mm lens inspired me to purchase it. It's primarily a close-up lens, but it takes good pics from any distance. I've taken some really impressive, professional-looking photos with it.
All I need now is a business card--"Angie's Professional Photography," or something. I could make money off of this!
